“You have a really nice —s-smile. I meant smile.”

Jinki stared up at Taemin with a scrutinizing look before rolling his eyes.

“Thanks, I guess.”

Taemin wanted to curl up into a ball and die. He’d ed up his big chance, his moment to shine and really make an impression on the hot librarian he’d been pining over for the past few weeks.

If he was honest, Taemin would admit that he’d never read a book in his life―not if he could help it ―but after Kibum forced him to help find a book at the college library, Taemin had taken one look at the attractive librarian and his heart had been stolen.

Trust him to mess up the one time he tried to talk to him.

“Can I help you?” Jinki asks when Taemin still hadn’t left after his failure, mouth opening and closing pathetically as he watched Jinki flip through the catalog for exactly ten minutes.

Taemin sputtered—How incredibly lame, he could hear Kibum say—for a second before asking, “W-Will you go on a date with me?”

There was a deafening pause where Jinki just watched him squirm and blush even darker.

“Why, so you can stare at my some more?” replies the elder and Taemin wants to die a second time before he realizes that Jinki is smirking with amusement, a glint in his eyes as he leans over the counter and watches Taemin with rapt interest.

He was enjoying seeing Taemin squirm.

“I really like you,” Taemin replies, and Jinki went silent again for a few more frustrating minutes.

A smile splits Jinki’s face as he laughs, murmuring “You’re cute” and leaning even closer, moving into Taemin’s personal space. “Okay.”

Taemin has never been more embarrassed and glad before in his life.
