It’s been 2 weeks since the incident and Yoona didn’t have a time to check on Yuri and her friends. She’s been busy with her preparations to move in to her and Siwon’s house. As much as she wants to visit Yuri, she couldn’t. The last time Sooyoung updated her is Yuri finally woke up but she couldn’t talk yet.

At that moment, she wanted to run to the hospital just to see Yuri but her mom held her back because she’s now Siwon’s wife, not Yuri’s girlfriend anymore. Yoona wanted to scream at her mother for being so cruel. Her mom never liked Yuri because she doesn’t want her daughter to be with another girl and it will put disgrace on her family. Yoona always thought, hasn’t she done enough for her family?! She married Siwon for her family’s sake and her only wish is to be with Yuri even if reality bites her that they will never be together again.

*BEEP* BEEP*

Yoona fished out her phone from her pocket and saw Sooyoung sent her a message.

We’re going to have a welcome home party for Yuri. She’s going to be released today but she’s still under observation. You may come if you like. Jessica hates the idea but Seohyun insists.

Yoona felt hope when she read the text. She doesn’t know why she’s happy but she felt that she needs to reconnect with Yuri. She knows that its wrong to be friends with her ex but she couldn’t lose her again. Its her fault that Yuri suffered like that.

She spent half of her day finding a perfect gift for Yuri. The girl was never picky. Even if it just a small note, it could put a huge smile on her beautiful face. Since Yuri loves sweets, she decided to buy a strawberry cake that Yuri absolutely loves.

She couldn’t help but felt nostalgic as she walked to the familiar streets to Yuri and Seohyun’s house. She used to go here almost every day after picking up Yuri from work or after their date. She longed for it to happen again.

Her heart beat erratically when she knocked on the door of Yuri’s house. After knocking several times, the door opened and she smiled when Hyoyeon opened the door.

“Yoona? Oh, wow. I thought you wouldn’t come.” Hyoyeon said, confused.

“Sooyoung unnie texted me, invited me to come. She said Seohyun insisted.” Yoona said shyly.

“I guess they have to choose this day. Aiishh, jinja.”  Hyoyeon mumbled to herself.

Yoona noticed the gloomy expression on Hyoyeon’s face.

“Mwo? Did you say something, unnie?” Yoona asked.

Hyoyeon was surprised when she thought didn’t hear her but she smiled, “A-aniyo. Come in.” she said as she ushered the young girl inside the house.

Yoona suddenly felt everything came back to her. She felt the familiarity of the house that once she practically lived in. Memories of her and Yuri as they spend their time together inside the house came flooding in her mind. She really missed doing those things with her.

“Yoong!” The girls greeted.

Yoona smiled at Sooyoung whose been busy eating food, Sunny and Taeyeon whose looking at some photo albums, to Tiffany who came from the kitchen, holding a glass of punch and even to Jessica who kept throwing sharp daggers at her.

“Annyeong!” she greeted back.

She noticed that Yuri and Seohyun were not present, so she shrugged, thinking that they’re probably busy and she put down the cake she bought on the coffee table in front of her.

“Seohyun is changing Yuri’s bandage. They’ll be out any minute.” Sooyoung said as she opened the cake that’s supposed to be for Yuri.

When Yoona is about to argue with Sooyoung, she saw Seohyun came down from the stairs.

“Unnie! Hurry up!” Seohyun shouted but as she turned towards her friends, she saw Yoona and smiled at her timidly.

“Yoong.” She nodded at the doe-eyed girl.

“Seo.” Yoona greeted back.

“You’re such a nagger, Seo! I always thought that I’m the eldest but i guess you really are the unnie.” Yuri whined as she staggered towards the living room.

Yoona gasped when she finally saw Yuri. She’s still beautiful since the last time she saw her. Despite of the bandage on her arms and her head, Yuri never fails to take her breath away.

“Oh? Annyeong.” Yuri greeted warmly at her.

Yoona was taken aback when she heard how Yuri greeted her. She felt the warmth on her voice. Its as if she never broke the girl’s heart.

“Y-Yuri...” she mumbled.

“You never told me that we got a visitor, Seobaby. Who is she?” Yuri sister.

Everybody went silent when Yuri asked the question. They thought that this never happen but they guess nightmares do exist.

“What? Is there something wrong?” Yuri asked when she noticed the silence of the group. She looked back at Yoona and asked her, “What’s your name, miss?”

Yoona felt her body stopped functioning at that very moment. Nothing can compare how much it hurts when the person you love, doesn’t even remember you.

She looked at everyone, as if asking them the obvious question. She tried to process everything but she couldn’t. She couldn’t open . She tried to ask questions but it seems like she lost her voice. She couldn’t even move.

Then, Seohyun and Sooyoung grabbed Yoona and walked her to the backyard. Once Sooyoung closed the door, Yoona started asking questions as if someone gave it back to her.

“W-What’s going on back there?! Y-Yuri? Why did she ask me that question?!” Yoona asked.

Sooyoung and Seohyun looked at each other and exhaled.

“Yoona, the doctor told me that once Yuri unnie woke up after the accident, there could only two things could happen. It’s either she woke up with no damage in her brain or worst, she’ll suffer amnesia.” Seohyun mumbled.

Yoona gasped. “A-amnesia?”

The two could only nod at her.

“She c-couldn’t remember us? H-how can we get it back?” Yoona asked.

Sooyoung sighed. “Actually the reason why we invited you is to test some theories.”

Yoona nodded for her to continue.

“When she woke up, she just looked at us and we thought she couldn’t remember anything. But when she called her sister’s name, we sighed in relief. We thought that she’s okay but we couldn’t be so sure.”

“So you mean that what happened earlier could only mean that she couldn’t m-me?” Yoona choked when she uttered those words.

Seohyun bit her lip and nodded. “We thought that she’s okay but i guess she’s totally not.”

Yoona couldn’t believe what she’s hearing right now. God must’ve been putting some kind of joke on her

Why does Yuri couldn’t remember her?

Is she that a bad person to deserve this? The person she loved the most couldn’t even remember her.

All that Yoona could do is broke down and cry. Seohyun and Sooyoung couldn’t do anything but watch their friend suffer.

I deserve this. I hurt her and now God is punishing me. I hurt an angel.

“Y-Yoona?” a voice mumbled.

A voice that she longed to hear. She immediately looked up and saw her personal angel once again. Maybe Seohyun and Sooyoung is just playing tricks on her, Yuri uttered her name.

”Is that your name, right? Yoona?” Yuri asked again.

I guess i spoke too soon. Yoona thought.

“T-the girls back there told me that you’re someone from my past. Is that right?” she asked again.

Yoona could only nod.

“Tell me, who are you in my past?” Yuri asked innocently.

Yoona opened but she couldn’t form words in . What would she say? That she’s the person who broke her heart? The reason why she had an accident and almost died? The reason why she couldn’t remember her.

I am the reason why she couldn’t remember me. I did that to her.

“I...I am..” Yoon uttered.

“She’s a friend, Yul.” Sooyoung interrupted.

Yuri looked at Sooyoung, confused. “Jinja? Why can’t i remember her? Why i haven’t seen her before?”

She looked at Yoona once again with curiosity, trying to see if she could remember the girl.

But she couldn’t.

“I’m sorry but i couldn’t remember you.” Yuri mumbled.

Yoona teared up when Yuri uttered those words. She couldn’t even take that Yuri is saying that she couldn’t remember her.

“I- i better go.” Yoona mumbled and walked away again.

It’s been few weeks since the incident.  Their friends even called her, asking what happened with her but she just make up excuses that she’s busy now that she’s married. Yoona didn’t know what came up to her but instead of being with Yuri now, she chooses to distance herself. She began to feel scared about the hurt that the situation will cause if she spends time with Yuri.

I think its better this way that she couldn’t remember me. I’m scared that her amnesia is a constant reminder how much i hurt her. Yoona thought.

As the day passes by, the more she longed for Yuri. It didn’t help even if she’s already has a husband. Whenever Siwon initiates a gesture, she pushes him away. They already talked about it. She never loved Siwon, Yoona just married him for her family, not for herself. She felt bad for the guy, though. Siwon is a very nice person and he definitely don’t deserve her but Siwon is as stubborn as she is.

To spend their time together, Siwon insisted to go grocery shopping together. Yoona felt guilty for being so unkind to Siwon so she agreed.

Yoona thought that agreeing to go grocery shopping with Siwon is a worst idea ever because the two of them were so awkward with each other as if they’re not a married couple. She thought to get away for a while and tell Siwon that she forgot to buy something at the women’s section.

As she was walking the aisle on the women’s section with their push cart, she didn’t notice that she bumped onto someone.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry, Miss!” Yoona apologise and when she looked up, she was surprised to see the person she longed to see.

“Y-Yuri?” she gasped.

“Yoona? Oh. I’m sorry, i didn’t see you there.” She smiled shyly.

Yoona’s heart skipped a beat once again when she saw that beautiful smile.

“I’m okay, don’t worry about it.” She mumbled shyly.

“I haven’t seen you since the party. They told me that you’re just busy.” Yuri said.

“Y-yeah. I’m sorry.” Yoona stuttered.

Yuri giggled and said, “No, don’t be. I understand that you have your other priorities.”

I want you to be my only priority, Yul! Yoona thought

“I was just thinking, do you want to come over to our house? We’re going to have barbecue next week. Since you’re friends with my friends, why don’t you hang out with us. Besides, i- i just want to know you more. I want to remember you.” Yuri said coyly.

If Yoona’s heart was skipping a beat earlier, now heart is beating so fast. She felt hope when Yuri said that she wants to remember her. Yoona thought that maybe, deep inside Yuri’s mind, their memories are not completely erased, it’s there, sleeping somewhere in her heart.

“Sure, i think i can manage some time for you, guys.” Yoona smiled.

Yuri’s smile went wide and it almost blinded Yoona. She missed that smile. Her beautiful smile.

“Jinja? Oh, you don’t know how much that made me happy.  I want to remember you, Yoona. You seemed like a very good person.” Yuri beamed.

Those words are enough to choke Yoona. For her, she’s never a good person. She feels like she deserves to rot in hell just because she broke this angel’s heart and not only that, she erased some important parts of her memories and there’s nothing she could do to take it back.

“Yoona?” a voice said. She and Yuri turned around and saw Siwon looking at them, confused.

He knows that Yuri and Yoona are supposed to together before they got married, he also knew the accident happened with Yuri because he saw how much Yoona cried just to be with Yuri but she couldn’t and now he couldn’t help but to be threatened at the girl, because he knew that he had nothing compared with Yuri. Yoona will forever love Yuri even if she’s already married with him.

“Y-Yuri. Annyeong.” Siwon greeted at the girl.

 Yuri’s eyes narrowed but it turned into confusion.

“Y-Yul, this is Siwon, he’s uuhh—“ Yoona said.

“I’m her husband.” Siwon said proudly at Yuri as he put an arm around Yoona’s waist. He couldn’t help but to feel arrogant now that Yoona is his, not Yuri’s.

Yoona saw how Yuri’s eyes widened but smiled shyly at him. Maybe she’s just hallucinating thinking that Yuri was surprised to know that she’s already married with Siwon. She doesn’t like the feeling that she’s shoving into Yuri that she’s already married, so she looked down.

“Oh. You’re her husband.” Yuri smiled.

Just then Seohyun came to join the three, completely understanding the situation. As a sister, she needs to protect her sister from the possibility of hurt just in case she suddenly remembered her erased past.

“Unnie, i’ve been looking all over for you.” She smiled at her sister. Her demeanour changed when she saw Siwon’s hands on Yoona’s. They are the reason why her unnie almost died.  

“Yoong, Siwon-ssi. Annyeong.” She said curtly.

“Seo.” Yoona almost whined when she saw the change in her best friend’s tone.

“Well, we better get going. Nice to see you. C’mon, unnie.” Seohyun walked ahead of them.

Yuri turned to follow Seohyun and then turned back.

“Please keep up with your promise, Yoona.” Yuri smiled and walked away.

Yoona gasped when she heard those words. Yuri used to say those words to her when they had a fight after Yoona let her waited in the snow after she promised the tanned girl a date. Yoona has a last minute meeting that is why she broke her promise.

“Yoona?” Siwon asked.

“Ne?” she whispered.

“What was that all about?”

“None of your business.” She said briefly and walked away.

Mianhe for the short chapter, i just wrote it after i wrote, We Got Married. I still have that happy feeling from writing YoonYul moments from the other fic that is why i couldn't write the sad ones. Please comment and upvote my story.
