Crush

Confused because of the crazy idea I have that I may have feelings for you!

Sehun's voice still echoed in her mind. She had been unable to sleep the whole night, thinking about it. Sehun had feelings for her? They had been best friends all their lifes and he was telling her that only now? Hayoung sighed as she rolled in her bed, unable to fall asleep. The most important question that was currently wandering around her mind was if she felt the same way towards him.

"How do I feel about you, Sehun?" she mumbled, closing her eyes and sighing once again "I don't even know"

The next day, Hayoung went to school feeling extremely tired. She really hadn't been able to sleep the whole night and now she was walking like zombie, unaware of everything around her. Also, she didn't know if she would be able to face Sehun. She didn't know what to tell him or how to act around him. What she did know was the nothing would be the same again.

When she walked inside the school, she was greeted by a familiar face. It was Sunggyu and he walked towards her. She really owed him an apology, because the previous day after she talked to Sehun, she didn't went back to the restaurant. She only called him and he told her it was ok, but she really felt bad for leaving him there alone.

"Hayoung ssi, are you ok?" Sunggyu asked with a concerned voice. She looked at him and only smiled. He was too kind. What did she feel for Sunggyu then? For a long time, she thought she had a crush on him, but now she wasn't so sure anymore.

"I don't know" she replied sincerely "Sunggyu sunbae, I'm really sorry about yesteday"

"It's ok, you don't need to apologize" he said with a smile "But, is Sehun alright?"

Hayoung sighed and looked down.

"I haven't spoken to him since yesteday" she replied. Sunggyu looked at her concerned and patted her shoulder slightly.

"I don't really know what happened between you guys, but you have been best friends for almost all your lifes so I know that you'll be able to clear things up, no matter how bad it is" he said and Hayoung only smiled.

"You are right" Hayoung said "Thank you, sunbae. It's always nice to hear kind words from you"

Sunggyu only smiled and patted her shoulder once again. After talking to him, Hayoung felt a little bit better. However, she was still unsure of her feelings. She was now more confused than ever. What did she feel for Sehun? Did she only see him as a best friend, or maybe as something more than that? And what did she feel for Sunggyu? Did she really like him, or did she only admired him?

When walked inside the classroom, her eyes widened slightly when she saw that Sehun was already there. She didn't know what to do and she had almost forgotten that her seat was beside his. She nervously walked towards her seat and tried not to make eye contact with him. What should she do?

Sehun looked up when he saw her walking towards her seat and only sighed. How he wished he had kept his mouth shut. Now, there was awkwardness between and he had screwed their friendship. He wished he could make his feelings disappear and go back to being only friends with her, even though he knew that was impossible.

"Hayoung ah" he suddenly said, making her jump startled. Her eyes widened slightly once again as she turned around to face him. Her heart wouldn't stop beating due to the nervousness and she really didn't know what to say or what to expect.

"Y-Yes?" she said, stuttering a little. Sehun looked at her and sighed.

"Please forget what I told you. I shouldn't have troubled you by telling you my feelings, I'm sorry" he said with a sad expression. He didn't really wanted to do it, but he didn't want to lose his best friend. If the only way to keep their frienship was burying his feelings, he would do it. Even if it was hard or even if it hurt. "Pretend that I never told you about it and I'm also going to try to forget that I have feelings for you. Let's go back to what we used to be, only best friends. I don't want to lose my best friend, you are too precious to me"

"Sehun..." she was taken aback by his sudden words and she didn't know what to say anymore. She only looked at him with a confused and somehow worried expression. Was that really what she wanted? To forget that Sehun confessed he had feelings for her? To pretend that nothing happened?

......................................................

Sehun sighed heavily as he walked back home after classes that day. He really did hope Hayoung would forget about what happened, so that things could be the same again.

"Who are you kidding Oh Sehun?" he said to himself "Things will never be the same again"

He sighed once again and passed his hand through his hair. He knew it would be really difficult to bury his feelings for her, but he would try to do it. Because their friendship was the most important thing for him and he didn't want to lose it because of his stupid feelings.

He had been thinking about it and the only way to do it was letting Hayoung date Sunggyu. Even if it hurt and even if he boiled in anger, he had to. And also, maybe it would help if he started seeing other girls. He had never been interested in dates. He was quite popular at school and lots of girls liked him, but he was never interested because he had always been focused only on Hayoung. Why didn't he notice that before? That he only paid attention to her.

He sighed as he continued walking. Maybe it was time to change that and to accept one of the many girls that were interested in him. He couldn't help but wonder what Hayoung's reaction would be if he started dating someone. Would she be mad? Jealous maybe? He scoffed at his own thoughts. It was quite delusional to think that.

When he got home, he took his phone and dialed a number of person who never thought he would call. He sighed as he waited for that person to answer. He almost regretted his decision and was about to hung up, when the person answered.

"Hello?" the girl on the other line said. Sehun took a deep breath and continued spoke. At the end, it was for the best to do it.

"It's Sehun" he said and her could hear a loud gasp on the other line "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me"

..........................................................

When Hayoung arrived to school that day, she was greeted by Sunggyu once again. It was weird, but she was getting used to seeing him every day. Not that she disliked it anyway. Having company gave her less time to think about her problem with Sehun and the more she could postpone it, the better it was for her.

"Hi Sunggyu sunbae" she said when she saw him. The older guy smiled.

"Hayoung ssi, I need to tell you something" he suddenly said and she could swear he sounded slightly nervous. "I had been thinking about it for a long time, but I didn't dare to do anything since I thought you and Sehun were dating... but now that I've found out he has a date with another girl, I thought it was ok if I asked you out"

Hayoung's eyes widened suddenly.

"W-Wait what?" she asked as she couldn't believe what she was hearing "Sehun has a date and he didn't tell me?!"

"I thought you knew" Sunggyu said, quite surprised as well "Everyone in the school is talking about it. The untouchable Oh Sehun finally agreed to go on a date"

Hayoung was really surprised to hear that. Why hadn't he tell her anything? It angered her to think that she was the last one to find out about it. She was his best friend so she had the right to know first. And also, why was she feeling so uneasy about it? She should be happy, since he was her best friend, but she wasn't and she didn't know why.

"So, what do you say?" Sunggyu suddenly said, making her snap out of her thoughts "Would you go on a date with me?"

She looked at him kind of surprised and she didn't know what to say. She suddenly didn't really feel excited about the idea of going out with him. Why was that? For a long time she had been dreaming of this day and now that they guy she had been crushing on finally asked her out, she was not happy about it? Maybe because the fact that Sehun didn't tell her anything about his date had spoiled her mood.

"Sunggyu sunbae I..." she said with slight hesitation in her voice

"You are not sure" he completed her answer and she could only nod embarrassed. He could only smile faintly as he put his hands on his pockets. "You don't need to explain, don't worry. You know, I always had the feeling that you liked Sehun"

"What?" she said with her eyes widened. Her cheeks suddenly turned red. "Of course it's not that!"

Sunggyu only chuckled at her reaction.

"Is it really not that?" he asked in a teasing voice and she blushed again "Cause your expression totally changed when I told you he had a date"

Hayoung looked at him and only sighed, looking down embarrassed. She didn't even know what to say since she wasn't even sure herself. She just knew she was not happy with the idea of him going out with another girl. It angered her to think about it.

"Normal best friends do not get jealous when their best friends go on dates" Sunggyu simply said with a smirk on his face.

...................................................

Hayoung walked towards her classroom, still thinking about it. She still couldn't cope with the idea of Sehun having a date. Why didn't he tell her anything? And why was she so angry in the first place? Normal best friends do not get jealous when their best friends go on dates. But she wasn't jealous. Of course she wasn't jealous, was she?

When she walked inside the classroom, she was slightly surprised to see that Sehun was talking to a girl and he was smiling? She suddenly felt something tugging her heart. Were the feelings he said he had for her not real?

"Sehun, can we talk?" she asked when she took her seat next to him. Sehun told the girl to leave them alone so they could talk and the girl agreed and went back to her seat. Hayoung guessed she was the girl he had asked out since she seemed really happy that day. When they were finally alone, she looked at him. "Why didn't you tell me anything? Why was I the last one to find out?"

Sehun's eyes widened slightly. He didn't expect Hayoung to react like that, but somehow, it made his heart feel warm.

"I'm sorry" Sehun said sincerely, looking down "I didn't have time to tell you"

Hayoung looked at him and only sighed.

"What made you change your mind about dating?" she asked him suddenly. He looked at her once again and sighed as well.

"I told you I would try to bury my feelings for you" he said and she was suddenly taken aback by that. "And if the only way to do it is dating, then be it"

She looked at him and didn't know what to say anymore. She kind of felt guilty because of this. He was doing it because of her. However, his explanation didn't make her feel better. She was still feeling uneasy with the idea of Sehun going out with someone else. What if Sunggyu was right then and she really did like him?

She sighed and the whole class she couldn't concentrate. She tried to shake away her thoughts, but her mind kept going back to the same thoughts. Thoughts about Sehun. From time to time, her eyes travelled to his seat and when he caught her staring at her, she couldn't help but blush slightly and look away inmediately. What was it? Was she going crazy?

When the class finished, Sehun was about to stand up and walk out when Hayoung suddenly stopped him. It took her all her courage to do it, but she was finally able to do it.

"Sehun wait" she said and he looked at her startled

"Is everything alright?" he asked concerned when he noticed she looked troubled. She took a deep breath and looked at him.

"Sehun, what if I don't want you to bury your feelings for me?" she suddenly dared to say and he was left dumdfounded "You didn't give me time to think about my own feelings and inmediately assumed that I would reject you and then told me to forget about it. That's why I was so confused, because you didn't give me time to put my thoughts in order. However, this morning when the guy I thought I liked asked me out, I didn't felt excited at all because my mind was full of thoughts about you dating another girl and I realized I wasn't ok with it"

Sehun stood there dumbfounded, unable to think properly. His eyes were slightly widened and his heart was beating faster. He mentally scolded himself for being so stupid and not giving time for her to think. However, the thought of her liking him back was still so surreal to him.Was dreaming? Was Hayoung really telling him she had feelings for him as well?

"D-Does that mean you have feelings for me too?" he asked nervously and Hayoung suddenly blushed and looked down embarrassed.

"Well yes silly, why do you think I made that whole speech for?" she said with a shy smile and he couldn't help but chuckle.

"Well I think I have to cancel that date now, it is going to be a shame" he playfully said and she hit his arm. "I was just kidding. You are the only girl I want to date"

"It better be true" she said and he laughed, before shyly hugging her. They felt as if their hearts would come out at any second. They had hugged each other lots of times before, but this time it was different. Because back then they were only best friends, but now they are more than that.
