It would never work anyways, Jonghyun tried to convince himself when he let yet another opportunity slip by.

His crush was too tall, too good looking and too cool to hang out with awkward nerds like him, much less date awkward nerds like him. And then there was the entire problem with how they were both guys, and his crush probably was straight.

“Peh, minor details doesn’t matter in the big picture, young padawan,” said Aron, his two year older co-worker who liked to pretend he had much more experience than he actually had.

“Aron, please stop with the star wars references and actually do your job for once would you?” said Jonghyun, still absently staring at the tall boy sitting down at a table not far away with his daily cup of coffee.

“No, I’m not going to do my job until you man up and confess or something. It was funny at first, but by now you puppy love is starting to turn quite nauseating.” Jonghyun ignored the older’s nagging, quite used to it already. 

Ignoring Aron earned him a smack to the head. “Hey, listen when I share my wisdom with you, I’m the older here, the one in charge, the …” Jonghyun continued to ignore him; when Aron first began talking nothing could stop him.

“… and if I was the one with the crush I would have had his name and age already …” At this Jonghyun’s interest peaked up. Maybe he could ask his co-worker to actually help him? No, that was a bad idea. Aron loved to make him embarrassed and never did anything else to help someone than “share his wisdom” without the promise of getting something in return.

But his hyung had a competitive side to him … He decided to speak up before the opportunity disappeared “I don’t believe you.”

“… and I wou … what?!” If it was one thing Aron flared up on, it was someone not believing in his awesomeness.

“I don’t believe you could actually just walk up to him and get that kind of information so easily.”

Aron stuttered over some what?! how dare you … you little! before seemingly reaching a conclusion.

Without saying another word, he sauntered with determination towards the tall boy sitting alone, reading a book and slowly drinking his coffee. Jonghyun could only watch the whole thing from the sideline, fearing the worst.  

To his surprise it seemed like Aron easily struck up a conversation. Jonghyun witnessed Aron after a little while actually sitting down with the guy, seemingly involved in an intense discussion. To say that Jonghyun was a tiny bit jealous was definitely an understatement.

But as he was at work, and his co-worker was busy flirting with his crush, he soon had to give up watching them for servicing customers.

A sudden loud outburst of laughter made him scald himself while making yet another cappuccino he wasn’t hired to make. He threw some ugly glances in Aron’s direction, both for leaving him to do all the work and for flirting with his crush. Sadly Jonghyun was too shy to actually go and reprimand him, since that meant doing so in front of the man of his dreams.

Not long after he scalded himself once again, this time on a café latte, when Aron sneaked up on him and whispered his name is Minhyun in his ear. He let out a pained groan, before sending Aron a scowl while giving the customer her coffee. Aron just grinned.

“And he’s the same age as you. You still have so much to learn, young padawan,” Aron said, adding a wink for good measure. Jonghyun grumbled something about can you please go and do your job now, refusing Aron the opportunity to gloat. Not that it stopped it him though.

“And you were totally right about him being too good for you, that dude is actually smart and able to hold an intelligent conversation. And he’s even more good looking up close, maybe I should go fo-“ at this Jonghyun had heard enough, hitting Aron in the face with the wet washcloth he’d used to wipe the counter.

“You wouldn’t dare,” he hissed. It wasn’t often Jonghyun reached his limit, but this was about it.

Aron sent him a sour look while wiping his face, before once again smirking. “Well, it’s not like you will ever do anything about your little crush anyways, so that’s means someone could walk in and snatch him any moment, it might as well be me.”

And that was it. Jonghyun couldn’t take it anymore, so he strode towards Minhyun. He was so angry that he didn’t realize that he didn’t have any plan of what to do before he was facing his crush. Who now was looking up at him, with his beautiful eyes, and Jonghyun couldn’t really think straight and he didn’t know what to say or do when …

“So I guess you’re Jonghyun then?”

The big what!? must have shown on his face, because Minhyun continued; “Aron told me he could make you come here and talk with me.” And was that a slight blush on his face, or was Jonghyun dreaming?

“I always wanted to talk to you, but I’m really awkward and shy around people I don’t know, so I never had the courage to.” What. What. What. Wasn’t that supposed to be Jonghyun’s line?

“So … do you want to sit down, or …” and now even Jonghyun could hear the insecurity in the other’s voice. However all he could do was nod dumbly and sit down on the chair he’d been so jealous on Aron for occupying before.

The thought of his co-worker made him quickly look in his direction; what if he wasn’t allowed to take a break? His fears were quickly reassured when he was met with Aron holding up a thumb and a paper with YOU’RE LEARNING WELL,YOUNG PADAWAN written on it in bold letters.

AN: for some reason I still haven't finished the first drabble I begun OTL How do you get writer's blocks while writing drabbles?! sigh.
