Forget Paris, Forget Love!
"Yes... I'm terribly sorry, is there something wrong with putting the practices to a low?" Nurse Joonmyun asked sincerely.
"No, no... It's just... I've been spending a hole entire year trying to train for the wushu tournament that goes international," Tao answers, his eyes wide open, even though there are drips watering the table he's looking down on.
"Tao, honey, I'm sorry, but this is supposed to be for your own good, not a punishment... If it makes you feel better, I'll come with you to the competition if you decide to watch. We'll hang out all day together," Joonmyun added, trying not to make Zitao cry.
"Really, Joongmyun hyung?" Tao in his breath to stop crying.
"Yeah, and Lu Han hyung will come too, what do you think?" Joonmyun added.
Tao seemed satisfied. Maybe... The people whom I love dearly will keep my heart together better than wushu will. He thought, pulling the two into a hug. "Now let's head upstairs and watch a movie and get some rest," Joonmyun spoke, as he smiled, each corner almost reaching his ears. They all went upstairs, Joonmyun changed out of his scrubs quickly and then went over to Tao.
"Just call me if you have any worries, okay Tao?" Joonmyun said, taking his cell phone and adding his contact.
"Well, my evening shift is done, but you'll see me here up at 4:00 AM," says Joonmyun in his casual clothes.
"Why so early hyung?" Tao asked.
"I'm still in charge of you guys, you know!" Joonmyun explained.
"I'm sorry, I just can't explain what I feel," he sighed.
"Then, stay here..." Tao went on.
Joonmyun sighed and rubbed his neck. "Fine... Let me just go home, take a shower, and then I'll come back." Joonmyun smiled at the silly Tao who were celebrating with Lu Han.
"Lu Han, aren't you glad we have a new friend?" Tao said, excited.
"Super!" Lu Han responded, "I hope we get more too, but..Tao ah.... you'd forget me... after a while..." he said, just a tiny bit slower than supposed to.
In jealousy, Lu Han looked at him sulkily. "I already said, ge, I wouldn't forget you! You're my best friend and my love!" Tao yells, the sounds bounce around the room and Lu Han looks at him, with wide eyes, already dripping with a salty liquid.
"I love you, Lu Han ge!" the raven hair said, squalling heard at the end.
Zitao's head hid in his knees as he cried. "I don't understand why you think I'll forget you, ge," he cried.
"Because I thought you didn't love me," Lu Han admitted.
"Well, why'd you think that ge, I love you more than wushu or dancing... or even my life!" he sobbed.
The cries resonated within room 431. Zitao eventually got tired from crying. He fell safe and sound asleep. "Lu Han ge... I won't leave you if you won't leave me..." Tao mumbled, a snore consecutively after the murmur. Lu Han sighed, keeping in his salty solution by biting his quivering lips.
Lu Han tucked him in, making sure he were all warm. It's been twenty five minutes since Joonmyun left. He returned five minutes later that night.
"Hey, Joonmyun, do you still wanna watch that movie? Tao's asleep, though," Blondie mentioned.
"No... He's got to take the rest, and I guess we'll watch the movie tomorrow, there'll be more time."
In the bench next to Tao, Joonmyun went into the closet and grabbed an extra pillow and put it on the end closest to Tao.
"I think I'll just sleep for now," Joonmyun admitted.
"I'm tired," Lu Han responded in habit.
They both yawned and proceeded to get to some z's. After quite some time asleep, their eyes opened wide enough in no time.
Joonmyun's eyes clicked as his phone rang his usual morning wake up alert, it was Busker Busker's Cherry Blossom Ending. It always had the best ring to it in the mornings. It felt fresh, like a new day has begun and none of his past had now mattered the slightest bit. He stretched and changed into his scrubs once again and it were another day of taking care of the sick, lonely, and diseased.
Well, only usually.
These past days have been precious considering Lu Han and Zitao were his only responsibility. But today, they must wake up precisely at 9:00 AM. Earlier is fine, but later would be overdoing it a tad bit, which isn't good for a body that heals through activity from this point on. It were only 7:50 AM as he had everything set up. Kim Joonmyun now, has nothing to do for two hours. He sighed, and got up from his seat. "Maybe, I'll go to the mall and do a quick shopping?" he whispered to himself.
He thought and finally agreed with himself. Changing out of the green scrubs, he picked up his coat, opened, closed the door, and walked straight out of the hospital he'd been serving at for the last year or so. Flying solo, again, Joonmyun leaves to the local shopping center.
After getting into the car uncomfortably lonesome, he arrives no sooner than ten minutes later, enters the large building no later than three minutes and takes his time looking through several clothing stores for thirty.
"This would actually fit those two, goodness, the things you find at these places..." Joonmyun mumbled after looking at couple phone charms. His tongue clicked and what would be better than buying the little toys for them? The charms both had a half of a heart and down the middle were jagged lines, if you took them and put both together, they would stick like magnets. The man soon caught himself buying the toys for the patients and a few belts to look snazzy.
"Yeah, I know right, it was such a... Oh, look, it's Joonmyun! Joonmyun hyung!" a familiar voice yelled from far away. Joonmyun turned around, an expressionless face plastered his canvas and to his focus, he saw the man he never wished to actually see ever again. Do Kyungsoo, past best friend and became past because they fell in love with the wrong people.
Joonie sighed and mentally face palmed. No, I don't want to see you right now... Ugh... Joonmyun facilely smiled back and waved, his hand careless as to the direction. The awkward atmosphere didn't blanch even as Kyungsoo walked over, the skips and steps always had this perfect beat to it, almost like an unnoticeable bounce were added to each movement.
Soon, a conversation was added to the already awkward air surrounding the spares.
"Hi, Joonmyun hyung!" Kyungsoo mentioned, as their distances was bare. "Hi, Kyungsoo," Joonie smiled.
"What's up, Joonie hyung?" Jongin smirked. Joonmyun sighed, looking down.
"Uh, just shopping, and I need to get going, I have patients waiting for me at 9:00..." Joonmyun's decrescendo voicing rang.
"Oh, can I see them, hyung? Your patients always turn out interesting!" the other beamed.
"Sure... Let's go," Joonmyun mumbled, in a down mood.
The trio paid for everything they had at the moment, and left the building, each one of their moods different. As they drove back to Seoul central hospital, Joonmyun's face washed ghostly white and expressionless. He stared at the clock, reading 8:46 AM. The rest of the fourteen minutes, they stood true and silent.
As soon as they arrived to the sick building, the all of the group stood, looked up to the building, fifty plus floors up. The nurse sighed as he entered lobby and went into the small space of an elevator, driving him nuts as his claustrophobia kicked into gear. His hands started clamming and sweating and he balls his fists into a tight wrap. He was stupid to have them follow him in an elevator. He always hated people with him in the elevator. Soon, Joonmyun's fists loosened, almost straight afterwards, his legs shortaged and gave up. Everything was making him dizzy and wheezy, and then, everything turned black, and the discontinued voice of Kyungsoo talking.
Kyungsoo's gaze dropped as he caught Joonmyun before he had hit all the way onto the ground. Kyungsoo and the fainted lowered down to the elevator's floor as they continued increasing in altitude. "Hyung! Hyung!" The wide eyed half murmured and half yelled. As soon as they got to the destination, Kyungsoo's mind baffled out, trying to make sense but with horrible fail. No, Joonmyun. Was all we could make out of the mess. After taking humble care of Joonmyun, he was teleported by several other nurses and doctors to the nearest hospital room with several IVs and the silence of rest cruising and roaming the air as Jongin and Kyungsoo thought, the rested until after two and a half hours later.
Joonmyun woke up, stretched and blinked his eyes a few times in stupidity and cluelessly. Kyungsoo's body flexed and he were only several inches away from the nurse.
"Are you okay, hyung?" the younger asked in conclusion,
"Not if you're that close to me, dummy," Joonmyun responded, his heart beating a little faster, quite noticeable from the machines.
"Oh crap! My patients!" he added, right before ripping his IV needles out and detaching himself from several machines that monitored his entire life.
He got up from his bed and half ran, half jogged back to Tao's room. As he opened the door, he mouth yelled at them in surprise and in happiness,
"You're awake!"
"Yes, hyung, we're awake, it's already 11:30 AM, why didn't you wake us at 9:00 AM like you said you would?" panda, Zitao replied with laughter, being tickled by Lu Han maliciously.
"Don't-hahaha, hyung! It hurts hahaha!" he complained.
"Agh, you kids! You don't care about daddy Joonmyun's condition? That hurts his feelings!" he pouted cutely just waiting for them to give him a special treatment.
"Joonmyun hyung, get Lulu to stop tickling me first!" panda boy laughed.
Lu Han smirked, "Never!" he protested.
"Well, I fainted in the elevator, my mistake," Joonmyun sounded. Lu Han stopped tickling Tao and they both responded a why.
"It was my mistake to get in the same elevator with the wrong people," Joonmyun sighed, "I'm insanely claustrophobic," he admitted at the end.
"I'm sorry hyung, are you alright?" raven haired cooed.
"Yes, but I came running for you guys when I woke up." he blankly complied. The nurse's cheeks puffed and Zitao sighed, then looking up to Lu Han and their fingers interlocked.
"Let's go back to your room ao you can get so rest hyung," Tao suggested thoughtfully.
"Better yet, down to the cafeteria, I'm starving!" Lu Han implied.
All of them thought for a while, and simultaneously, they all answered, "Cafeteria." They all walked out into the hall, surprisingly crossing paths with Kai and Kyungsoo.
"Are these your patients?" Kyungsoo asked.
"Lu Han? Is that you?" his curious voice asked. Lu Han gasped at the sudden meeting of his boss at the cafe, Kyungsoo.
"Boss!" Lu Han cried, in utter surprise. "J-Jongin?..." the random bitter meeting caused Tao to go in front of Lu Han, and acts like a shield on offense.
Lu Han back hugs Tao and shivers "Tao ah, save me," goosebumps rose from his arms as he wraps his arms around the other tightly.
"It's gonna be alright, Lu Han," Tao sang, and he gripped Lu Han's arms. Tao was left unsettlingly defenseless.
"Lu Han, I'-" Jongin began, but Lu Han cut like a spear into his words, "Save it, I'm never going back to you."
"But baby-" Jongin restarted confidently.
"He said save it," Tao said, uncomfortable at how he said baby.
Jongin smirked "I wasn't talking to you, ... but you are kinda cute," he added, silently walking over and pinching Tao's face from the bottom of his chin, and makes him forcefully pout “You’d be my type,” he added quietly, giggling evilly at the end.
