A Day At The Beach Pt. 2

Jonghyun’s POV~
“OMO!! I can’t hold it any longer!” x__x"

“HWAH!” I gasped, breaking the surface of the water and taking large gulps of air. Salty water ran in my eyes and I blinked the tears away, casting a look over the beach. Shoot! A girl!! Right in front of me!

“OMO! HIDE BLINGBLING!” My mind screamed, prompting me to take another hesitant dive into the water. Just as I was about to dive and swim away, I heard the girl give a soft cry and she sighed as if all the cares in the world were melting away. I looked at her again and blinked in surprise. “S..Se Kyung??”

The girl had her head bent over her feet as she kneeled and dragged a finger through the wet sand. It was all there! She looked almost a bit similar to her.. It couldn’t be..

“Gosh, this song is so good~” she suddenly said, turning her face to the side to look back at her spot on the beach. Omo~ Hot Times was playing from her radio! I heard my voice saying “I promise you, I’ll stay with you, no matter what my reason baby~” When she turned around, I couldn’t help but blush, seeing her lovely features, which were similar to Se Kyung's but younger looking. After a few seconds of staring, I realized it was too late when she stood and started to make her way into the water. I dove under again, making quite a commotion as I would realize in a bit.

“Bwoh?” she said softly, stopping a couple feet away from where I was hiding in the water. Aissh! She had seen me!

“Yah! You there! I saw you looking at me, now come up!”

Busted. I could almost hear the Key in my head lecturing me on what I had just done. I cautiously stuck my head out of the water and looked up at the girl, who stood in the hip-length water with her hands crossed over her chest. Bubbles of embarrassment escaped my lips as I sulked partially in the water.

“Mianhe, noona,” I said guiltily, blowing more bubbles sulkily.

“Noona!! I’m only 17!!” She cried loudly, looking as if I had dealt her a blow. A pout crossed her face when I stuck my head out fully and shushed her frantically, looking about the place for any signs of those fan girls.

“Please, shh! I didn’t mean to stare, I was just a bit startled.” I made my eyes plead with her to stay quiet. She bit her lip defiantly and opened again.

“I’m not a noona, for your information. You look older than me! My name’s Yue-Jiun--” I was forced to cut her off when I saw those two girls from before approach her beach stuffs. I quickly grabbed her hand and pulled her underwater with me. Her shriek was loud underwater and all I did was worry about the noona’s on the beach finding us. We broke through the surface and her shouts were muffled by my hand.

Quickly I turned my back with Yue in front and whispered frantically in her ear, “Please, Yuejiun-ah. Please be quiet or those girls will find me!”

All of a sudden, I felt her slacken in my arms and her finger prodded into my abdomen. I let go free and she immediately hissed at me. “Aish! So you’re the one those two bugged me for! You so owe me for this!” Yue turned in my arms and I felt her embrace me from the front.

“Ah! You’re the best boyfriend ever Ji-oppa!” Yue squealed, hugging me tightly. All I did was bury my head in her shoulder and try to hide my face. A shiver went up my spine when I heard the blond girl’s voice whine.

“Heey! You, did you find Jonghyun oppa yet?” Sica whined, soundly miserably tired and hot. “Aish, I wanna go swimming already Ri!”

“Hey! You from before, who’ve you got there???” asked Rika, padding into the water. I felt Yuejiun stiffen and she told the brown haired girl to go away.

“It’s my boyfriend, Ji Hae. We’re busy cuddling at the m-moment and he’s shy so could you please--”

“Ah, come on Rika-yah!! Lets leave her and go back to Taecyeon-oppa!” called Sica, already sounding a bit farther away.

I heard another splashing sound and the sound of the Rika girl calling to her friend. Cautiously, I turned my head in the crook of her neck and peeked out. All of a sudden, Yue pushed me backwards and I fell into the water.

“Now that’s for surprising me and dragging me under with you!” she huffed, moving up near the sand again. Surprised, I turned around and watched as she peeled the wet mesh of her dress from her body. The blush crept up to my ears and I looked away, paddling weakly in the water as she turned around again, revealing her body in it’s bathing suit top and bottom.

“Ano.. I’m sorry again Yueji-ah” I said as she swam out next to me again. “Thank you for helping me.”

She turned her back to me and dipped her head back, coming back up with her hair slicked back with seawater. Yue cast a moody look back over her shoulder and shrugged. “Was nothing, Jonghyun oppa.”

I gulped as she began to paddle away from me, away from the more crowded part of the beach. “Y-Yah!” I shouted, swimming after her. She turned and looked over to me with a confused stare, cocking her eyebrow a bit. Embarrassed, I swam to her side.

“I-I.. um.. Well, since you told those two I was ‘Ji Hae’, wouldn’t it be a little weird for them to catch you later without me?” I said nervously, sticking my mouth underwater and blowing a few bubbles for some aegyo points. Yue’s eyes crinkled as her face lit up in a smile. A snort of laughter followed.

“Yeah, I guess so. But you really wanna stick with me then?”

I gave a little smirk. “I promise you, I’ll stay with you, no matter what my reason baby~” I sung softly to her and her eyes widened.

“Oh wow! So that was you?? OMO!” She gasped, rubbing some water onto her head. The way her eyes sparkled made me smile and I swam in a smug little circle around her.

“Neh, my company's new little project. That was our song Hot Times,” I said matter-of-factly. Yue splashed me with some water and stuck her tongue out.

“Well, Mr. Superstar, thanks for the information. Now I know what to download and look up later on.” She sighed and dipped her head back again. “This is so relaxing..”

I chuckled and said I agreed. All of a sudden she pulled her head up and looked at me. “When this day’s done, could I have your autograph? I mean… I don’t really know you but I’d like to have something besides a song to remember you by.”

In that instant my heart gave a little flutter and I nodded, grinning at her. “Neh, that’s cool.” Yue’s easygoing smile made me want to hold her, so I swam over to her and wrapped my arms around her belly , pulling her to float by me. The questioning look on her face made me think up an excuse just to be by her.

“I, uhm.. Saw those girls again. Hehe.”

She opened in understanding and just allowed me to hold and shade her from the sun. We stayed like that for a while and just talked. After about an hour or two, I remembered I had Sukira later on that night and did a mental face palm.

Yue-Jiun’s POV~

“Ah, damn.” Jonghyun swore softly. I looked to him sitting next to me on the now almost deserted beach and cocked my head to the side.

“What’s the matter?” I asked, wriggling my toes in the sand.

Jonghyun ran his fingers in his hair and rubbed his head. “I have to go soon. I have this program to tape tonight and we’re going out for a friend of mine’s birthday after that.” He sighed and I felt a little like sulking. He had been great company all this time and I enjoyed our chat. Yet, I flashed him a grateful smile. My first ever idol meeting.

“Thanks for hanging out with me today, oppa. It was nice to meet you~” I said, flicking a little sand at him with my toes. Jonghyun grinned at me and looked sorta bashfully away. Did I detect a little blush on those cheeks? Nah, maybe it was just sunburn. Inside, I felt a bit guilty seeing the look on his face. I sorta wished I saw guy's that way.

“It was no problem, Yue-ah. I mean, it was the least I could do for you saving me from those girls today.” He replied. “I had fun.”

With a sigh, I pushed up and gave a big stretch, dusting myself free of all the loose sand. I extended my hand to Jonghyun and helped him up. “Thanks,” he said, dusting his arms and legs off as well. We walked over to my bag and I dug in it, pulling out a bag of cookies that I’d made for dessert.

“Here,” I said, giving him the bag. “For you if you get hungry on the way or something.”

“Oh gosh, YES! Cookies!” Jjong hugged the package and then gave me a hug as well. I squeezed him tight and let go with a satisfied sigh.

“I guess I’ll see you sometime ^^” I said, hefting my side bag and cooler. “You’re on the internet, yeah? I’ll just search up your name I suppose and drop by to see a concert sometime.” 'Maybe I'd see him again after my debut.'

Jonghyun’s face seemed to light up when I said that and he dug in his bag and pulled out a little bunny doll, to my pleasant surprise. “Here,” he gave me the doll.

I smelled it and hugged it to my chest. “Now, why was this in there?” I cocked my eyebrow at him and grinned.

He laughed and shrugged. “Present from a fan. Our group's maknae, Taemin-ah, wanted it but I wanted it more so… yeah, hah. I stuffed it in there and carried it around with me all this time.” The blush on his face was apparent this time. My heart didn't give so much as a flutter, except in my own embarrassement. “Just bring that with you to a concert. It‘ll give you a reason to come backstage to see me.”

He wiggled his eyebrows like a dork, making me laugh. Gently, I swatted him with the doll and flashed him another smile.

“Thank you.” With that, I waved and set out for my car.

Jonghyun’s POV~

As I watched Yue walk away, I couldn’t help but stare as she got farther and farther away. She was defiantly something, that girl. I couldn’t help the smile on my face as I got into my car, watching her drive off first.

Putting the keys in the ignition, I said to myself, “Wow.”
