Come Back To Me
Description
Sometimes we lose the one we love, but that doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. What if they came back in another’s body but with no memory of their previous life? Would you notice? And even if you did, would they remember you?

“I’m sorry,” Hyukjae apologized earnestly, backing away from the young man he’d accidentally bumped into. “I didn’t see you,” he smiled, gums showing as he brushed his blonde bangs out of his eyes.
“That’s alright,” the other chuckled, turning around to face him and starting in surprise when he saw who it was. “It’s you,” he gave a tentative but infectious grin and took a step forward.
Hyukjae’s expression faltered when he recognized the young man as the same one he’d fished out of the water a couple weeks ago after the accident on the bridge. His dark brown hair was artfully spiked forward slightly and his complexion was considerably healthier than the last time. Caught off guard, he laughed uncertainly and stammered, “Yeah. H-how are you feeling?” he asked instead, seeing that he looked completely recovered from his near death experience.
“Right as rain,” the other smiled, gesturing enthusiastically. “Oh!” he gasped, smacking his forehead lightly with his palm. “I never did thank you for the other day,” he stated gratefully.
“It was nothing. Really,” Hyukjae waved away the praise, ducking his head in embarrassment.
“Well thank you all the same,” he smiled, extending his hand in greeting. “I’m Kim Jonghyun by the way.”
“Lee Hyukjae,” he offered in return. The blonde reached out to accept the gesture, the other’s grip firm but soft. “You’re welcome,” he added, looking up from under his bangs and finding himself just staring at him.
“You alright?” Jonghyun asked with a laugh, waving his hand in front of Hyukjae’s face quickly.
“Sorry!” Hyukjae gasped, flushing in embarrassment. “Sorry…it’s just… You remind me of someone I used to know. Sorry,” he apologized again, reclaiming his hand and giggling nervously once more.
“As I said, it’s alright,” Jonghyun saluted in a friendly manner perking up when he heard his name on the other side of the aisle. “I’m coming, Kibum!” he called, waving at the other beside him. “Thanks again and maybe I’ll see you around, neh?” he offered, still grinning when he jogged down the row and rounded the corner, disappearing quickly.
Hyukjae watched him go, feeling rather unsettled. He was honestly glad that Jonghyun was recovered and doing much better but for just a moment… “No, Hyuk,” he told himself, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to steady his nerves. “He’s gone and you’re just going…to have to…accept…that,” he murmured, feeling the familiar tears seep through his closed eyes once more.
