Your POV

     My eyes shot open. ‘What does he mean by that?’

     I turned around, and found him sitting in a chair lazily looking around the room.

     “Pfft. They’re rich bastards but giving us a room for an average person. Do they know who they’re dealing with?” Then he chuckled like it’s the funniest thing. I just stared at him.

     'Is he serious?'

     Then he looked at me, “Hey. Why are you so serious? Are you alright?”

     He sat up and tried reaching for me but I manage to speak out, “I-I’m fine.”

     Then he sat back again smirking. I’m pretty sure I heard him muttered something like ‘Nervous I see’.

     I let out a sigh, but got startled again when I heard him asked, “So what made you join those bastards?”

     I looked at him, puzzled. ‘Bastards? Who?

     As if he read the questions in my head, he continued, “You know those people selling your ity.” Then he shrugged like it’s a usual word of everyday. “So why did you agree to them?”

     I sighed and hang my head down, looking on my hands on my lap. Then I started to open up everything to him.

     “I badly needed money right now. My mother is sick and my older brother is the only person in the family that’s working. But his salary is not enough of our expenses. I tried convincing him that I’ll stop studying for a while until umma is fine, but he objected.”

     “Wait, where’s your father?”

     “My father is dead.” I looked at him, then looked away again and continued, “Until one day, while I’m trying to find a part-time job, a woman approached me and offered to give me big money in exchange of my ity.”

     “And you said yes?”

     “I turned it down, of course. But she’s persistent, telling me that if I sell my ity in an auction, and if someone bought me in a big amount, half of it will go to me.”

     “And then… you said yes?”

     “I didn’t. But after few days, my mother needed to undergo an operation and a big money is needed. I didn’t think twice and quickly called the woman.”

     I sighed as I finish my story, and then looked at him. He’s looking back at me, clearly amused and I looked away immediately.

     “Stop staring. Let’s just finish this so I can go home early.” I said, hiding my face, red because of embarrassment while saying those words. I heard him chuckled.

     “You’re missing a point here, woman. I didn’t buy you just to satisfy my own needs. Neither did I do that to lose my own ity this early. No offense.” Then he rose up both of his hands in a ‘no offense’ manner.

     ‘What? He’s also a ? But his looks tell the opposite though. Psssh , if he didn’t mention it, I might mistake him as a playboy who sleeps with different woman every night.’

     I tried listening to what he had to say again.

     “Look, I bought you as a . . .  Gift. Do you know for whom?

     Curiosity creep all over my body. ‘What is he saying?’

     “For . . .  yourself?” I tried answering his question.  Didn’t even know where this is going.

Then I heard him chuckled again, “Phabo. I bought you as a gift for a friend.”

     Oh. Great.

     Good news. He’s not gonna use me. Bad news. Someone will.

     “Why? Wait, I don’t understand.” I looked at him confused.

     “I’m offering you something that can help in your financial needs, IF ONLY you said yes to my proposal.”

     ‘Proposal? Wait, something that can help in my financial needs? What is it’s some kind of scam?’

     “How can I be sure that you’re not lying to me?” I asked him, my eyes narrowing at him.

He grinned, “Of course. I’ll explain everything to you if you already agreed to me.”

     I looked at him suspiciously. He smirked back at me, and then spoke again.

     “And one more thing . . .  call me Kai.”

I'll edit this chapter again when I have time, but I'm really sorry I update late since college life is killing me, plus i've been sick for the past days *^*
