“Congratulations on growing fatter!” Jaejoong’s piercing words shot like venom as the girl turned around to face him and tears welled up in her eyes. Everyone shot him mean looks and proceeded to comfort the piteous girl. Jaejoong just walked away pretending not to see the scene and as if it was none of his fault.

Jaejoong had always been considered as the bully in the class who always had mean or sarcastic remarks. Even though he had flawless beauty which everyone would die for, people still abhorred and hated him for his guts. He doesn’t really have any friends and don’t bother to make any. They wouldn’t be able to stand him anyway. The only people whom he treats well are his sisters, his only kin left in this world.

“Did you remember to take breakfast today?” His noona asked, voice full of motherly affection.

“Yes I did noona” Jaejoong replied politely and smiled.

“Be careful on your way to school ok?”

“Yes I will. Noona please be careful too, love you” Jaejoong said as he held his school bag and headed off to school. 

No one ever saw this sight of Jaejoong and he was thankful for that. He didn’t want anyone to know of his little secret. He really loved his sisters; they were the one who had really supported and are there for him during difficult times. Jaejoong found tears in his eyes threatening to fall while thinking of this and mentally scolded himself for being vulnerable in public. 

He recollected himself and put on a cold mask, ready for another torturous day of school. He really hated school from the bottom of his heart as much as how his classmates hated him. He wasn’t this kind of person, he disliked hurting others as must as they disliked it but he had no choice. He was forced to do this, he told himself.

“Ok class, today we will be doing group work. Please get yourself grouped into groups of four and discuss about courage.” 

As soon as the teacher finished speaking, the whole class was filled with shouts and voices discussing about the people in the group. While Jaejoong sat there alone keeping quiet, feeling apprehensive about what was going to happen soon. He knew nobody would want him in their group, after all, who wants a bully in your group? Sad emotions tugged at his heart as he felt a dull pain but dismisses it, ‘I’m used to it, its ok’, he tells himself. However, he knew deep down his heart he wasn’t ok.

“Ok class so have you grouped yourself? Who doesn’t have a group?” She asked as she eyed the class.

Jaejoong let out a breath and refuse to put up his hand. He doesn’t need to be embarrassed and humiliated in front of the class.

“Do you have a group Jaejoong? You can join us if you like” He heard a deep voice behind him and looked back to see a handsome boy facing him, Jung Yunho. He almost stopped breathing but suddenly remembered he was supposed to be a bully. 

“As if I want to be in your group”, Jaejoong rolled his eyes and turned back to the front. 

“Why not?” Yunho persisted and Jaejoong cursed himself mentally. ‘Urgh why must he be so persistent? Does he want to be hurt more?’ Jaejoong screamed in his head and sighed. 

“Because of you. Duh.” Jaejoong turned back and spit out another harsh comment. He felt really bad to say such bad comments to someone who treated him so nicely, but he pushed those feelings aside and convinced himself that Yunho deserves it.

Soon, the teacher spotted Jaejoong alone without any group and shouted, “Jaejoong why don’t you have any group? Go and join Yunho’s group now”. She embarrassed Jaejoong in front of the whole class and whispers of people badmouthing him could be heard.

Jaejoong felt like digging a hole to bury his head as he felt extremely embarrassed and reluctantly accepted his own fate as he turned around to face Jung Yunho for the third time.

“Welcome to our group Jaejoong” Yunho said as he grinned at him mockingly, at least that’s what Jaejoong thought. 

Jaejoong grimaced and just scowled at Yunho. Yunho chuckled at him and Jaejoong raised his head, shocked at the reaction he received. He wondered why Yunho had laughed at him, what did he do that was so funny? 

“Shut up, Jung” Jaejoong said in a menacing tone and shot his the looks of mafia. Upon seeing this, Yunho had decided not to anger the raven more and just kept quiet. Yunho had been secretly observing him recently, he wanted to know why he was always in such a bad mood and putting others down. After analyzing Jaejoong for a long time, he came to realize that maybe Jaejoong wasn’t as bad as everyone thought and wondered if he had another side.

After this project, Yunho had decided that he would be friends with Jaejoong to get to know him better. When his friends heard of this news though, there were negative comments and all of them tried persuading him not to be friends with the foul-mouthed beauty. He ignored them though, he wanted to know Jaejoong more and that was final.

“Hey Jaejoong” Yunho greeted him with a friendly smile as he walked with him to the canteen.

“Hey loser. Why are you walking with me? The air that I breathe will be dirtied!” 

Hearing his remark, Yunho laughed at his wit. He actually thought Jaejoong was quite humorous and quick-witted to be able to think of such replies. 

“What’s so funny?” Jaejoong demanded. He was so frustrated that Yunho didn’t get the message to stay away from him. He just wanted to be alone! Damnit. 

“You” Yunho said as he wiped away a non-existent tear and Jaejoong thinks he’s crazy.

“Get away from me, I don’t need a lunatic by my side and I AM NOT funny”, Jaejoong gave him a mean look and walk faster. However, Yunho had long legs and easily kept up with Jaejoong’s pace.

“I said get away from me you stupid idiot!” Jaejoong hollered at Yunho which caused quite a commotion and other students stared at them. Yunho was unfazed though and shushed Jaejoong as he dragged the latter to the canteen. 

Yunho didn’t really think Jaejoong was threatening and mean but instead realized how frustrated Jaejoong must be.
