Chapter 2: Two VS One

"See ya!" Il Bum dashed from their sight. He knew they would beat him up for creating such an incredulous task for them when he clearly knows how they distant themselves from everybody else in this world except on each other. Taemin and Kai's jaw drops because of his explanation.

"That kinda more than lazying around your dorm." Kai stated.

"Tell me about it." Taemin rolled his eyes as they  shook away the urge on chasing Il Bum out of the building.

Not long after, they decided to ditch his task and get back to the dorm but one thing was secretly stucked in their mind about what Il Bum said, was this girl seriously good enough to amaze him and moreover, them?

As they arrived at their dorms, the two unexpectedly stayed up because of Il Bum's information. Other than that, it would not hurt to try and see how good is this girl. Maybe they can see how impressive she is, then they can ditch.

Taemin grabbed his phone and texted Kai for tomorrow's meeting. "Meet me tomorrow at the dance studio at 10 o' clock." he pressed 'send'. When Kai received his message, he didn't bother to reply back because that proves that the one he sent the message to is evidently the right person. If Kai would reply an unnecessary confirmation, Taemin would suspect it easily that the person he sent wasn't completely him.

"Actually, I was thinking about it as well last night." Kai informed as the two of them entered the elevator.

Kai creased his forehead. "I mean, how can she dance the way we do. It's either she's an obsessed fan who shows herself of not knowing us because of being a copycat or she's our female clone from another world." he sarcastically said.

"I agree with the first one." Taemin said.

Kai his lip. "Well I don't know, I'm thinking both, hyung." Taemin chuckled at his choice as they get out of the elevator.

"So, where do you think she lives?" Kai wondered. Taemin looked at him. "I thought she's already a trainee here?"

Kai gave him an unsure look. "Did hyung really approve her or is his statement yesterday has a hidden meaning that we have to approve her first before being one here?"

Taemin nodded. "Good point."

When they neared the studio, they realized someone was using it because of the music beat coming loudly from inside. Both of them recognized the song, "Show it" by Demarco.

"Who do you think it is?" Taemin wondered. Kai shrugged. "Beats me. Let's go and check it out." he suggested.

Kai slowly opened the door to avoid any noise. Their eyes literally bulged out of its sockets as they dimly recognized the person dancing to the beat. They eyed her moves before they could do anything and was quite surprised that what Il Bum said was quite true. The two of them had their mouth hung open as they stared at her dance flawlessly like how they do.

"Isn't she the one we saw auditioned yesterday??" Taemin whispered loudly, but the girl caught it as she freezes herself in her spot. Taemin and Kai also froze when they realized she heard them when she abruptly walked towards the playlist to turn it off. She faces them with a poker face, demanding for them to speak.

"U-uhm... are you using this room?" Taemin asked.

Min Jung nodded while getting her bag and leaving the room, literally shoving them the place because of their intrusion. They cautiously entered their room before settling their things aside. It quite amused them how she leaves the room without even bowing to them and it didn't really seem like the first option that Kai suggested about how she was hiding herself from spazzing over them.

Turning on the playlist, they tried to forget about the girl and practiced in their free schedule. Without them noticing, it really did seem like a doppelganger from another dimension.

Taemin observed their steps and suggested, "We should really change that move."

Kai scratched his head. "Hyung, it's good enough. Why do you want to change it?"

"In my opinion,there's something missing that makes it a bit absurd at this part, how about freezing in our spot after whipping?" Taemin demonstrated.

Kai nodded in agreement. "Good idea"

"1, Duck! 3, 4, Jump! 6, 7, Style! 1, 2, Whip! Freeze! 5, 6, 7, Slide! 1, 2, 3, Side!, 5, Side! 7, Punch!"

"Excuse me.." a female voice muttered as she barges inside their pratice room.

They stopped dancing as they turned around who the intruder is.

"Are you using this room?" a female trainee noona blushed. A fan...

They both nodded as they started getting their things.

"It's kinda embarrassing for me to ask this but how about particing toge-...ther?" The girl asked shyly but as she looked up, she realized they both left her already. She pouted as she proceeded to dance alone. She already heard about the two of them so it's impossible for them to accept her offer. Though their personality as brothers really charms the ladies unexpectedly unless others found out how they are really cold to others.

"Hyung!" Taemin roared as he spotted Il Bum across the hallway. Il Bum immediately run when he heard his voice without looking at them. The two of them widened their eyes in disbelief before chasing him. Sweats fell on their forehead as they continued chasing around the building until Kai and Taemin was stopped by their male sunbaes who happens to pass by.

"Hey, what's the chase?" Shindong joked. Beside him was Yesung, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and Donghae. The two of them tried to get away from their grasp while Il Bum was still in sight. Kai hissed as their sunbaes joked how ridiculous they look like two dogs chasing a cat in release. When they realize Il Bum was out of sight, they gave their sunbaes an unknowing glare before stomping away from them.

It was already 9 o' clock in the evening and the two brothers decided to eat outside. When they passed a simple seafood restaurant, the accidentally saw Il Bum talking to a young girl and their eye almost popped out of its sockets. They can only see the girl's back so when they met eyes with Il Bum, he tried to hide shamelessly. They could see the girl stopped from eating as she stared at him suspiciously. One step forward was enough to make him leave the girl and ran to the restroom. Taemin shook his head as they proceeded to their destination without bothering who was the girl with Il Bum earlier.

"I'm sorry, but your reservation has expired." The female manager of the restaurant bowed in apology since she realized the table she erased for them were actually celebrities. The manager expected them to scream at her and demanded to fire her but what she gets was just a nonchalant reply.

Kai shrugged. "Alright then."

Taemin agreed. "We should probably look for another place, I don't think they accept people like us."

Before they could step out, the manager called them. "NO please! We could get another table for you! We rarely get customers like you so we don't want to waste our chance just because you were 2 hours late." she covered of what she accidently said.

The two of them walked back to her. "Then I guess you should've told us sooner before we thought of never coming back here." Kai smirked that made her blush.

"Come on , Kai." Taemin patted his back before giving her a glare.

In the end, because of CCTV cameras, her boss found out what happened and couldn't help but fire her because of what she did.

Since it was getting late, only one restaurant that caught their attention that was still open until midnight. They shivered when they realized it was the restaurant that Il Bum and his girl was. When their stomach complained to them, they couldn't help but enter inside, praying they left the place already. As they search for a table, they unexpectedly saw the two of them still on their spot.

"Now that we're here, let's go for it." Taemin suggested while Kai nodded in agreement with a smirk. They walked towards their table and when they met eyes with Il Bum, he felt like it was the end of the world. The girl didn't talk but she was rather confused why his face turned pale.
