Smile

Eternal Snow

Sungjong actually had no idea how far he had ran, but he knew he was back where he was before he went to the cafe. He didn't notice the first time, but it was a small park area... That he use to go to a lot before debut. Wiping away whatever tears were blocking his view, he decided to go over to one of the swings and sit down. The snow was still falling and it made his fingers cold to grip on to the metal chains, yet he couldn't feel the need to care. All he really wanted to do was let out all of these stressful feelings and throw away the feelings he have for the stupid visual of Infinite.

Shaking away the thoughts, he took in a breath of the cool air before letting it out. All of his emotions were too confusing for him to continue to think about any further as he swayed softly on the swings and rubbed his hands together. The longer he sat in the park alone, he more he came to realize why he kept coming back to this area. He also came to realize how Myungsoo found him so easily.

Before he could think any further though, a voice broke the silence and all he could do was stare at the snow that was slowly piling up around the area. "We use to come here all the time, huh? Just us two. We'd eat, chase each other, yell at each other, confide in each other..." Those words all brought up memories he didn't want to think about. It made him realize how long of a chance he had with the other and how it just all slipped through his fingers because of how slow he was.

"What of it?" Sungjong isn't the type to be a cold person, but he honestly couldn't help but feel irritated that Myungsoo had the nerves of bringing up such memory as if it was nothing.

"I'm saying... I miss it. You've been avoiding me more and more as the days pass by... Since we're here... Tell me what's wrong." Myungsoo's words were, yet again, demanding. He never left room for Sungjong to breathe, even if it's when they were both happy or on camera. The older male never failed to leave him alone, even for a second.

"Nothing's wrong. " He huffed out, looking at the sky and allowing the snow to fall down upon his face. Swaying more, he soon felt a glare at his side and pouted slightly. "... Fine. Stress."

"Honest answer, Lee Sungjong." He heard the cold tone of voice and shivered himself before pursing his lips. What was the point of lying to him? Maybe it would be best to just say it all now and get it over with, right? Before he could say anything though, he noticed a bag pushed in front of his view and looked up at his hyung in a questioning manner. "... Nevermind. Don't tell me... Just smile. Alright?"

Biting on his lip, he reached out and took a hold of the handles of the bag before setting it own on his lap. It was odd that Myungsoo would've bought him a present out of the blue like this, but Sungjong wasn't one to complain. Opening the bag, he noticed a whole bunch of colorful tissue paper and slightly had trouble seeing what it was due to the low lighting of the area because of the time. Despite that, Sungjong was on a new mission to find out what was inside before reaching in and pulling out something that felt soft and fluffy.

Once it was completely out and in view, his eyes brightened as he had to bite down on his lip to hold back his smile. Of course he didn't want Myungsoo to buy it for him, but the fact that he did anyways, regardless of how he told the other to shut up, it just made him more than happy. Though soon, he remembered why he threw it at the other in the first place and why he shouldn't be happy and glanced downwards once more with a slight frown. "What's wrong? .... Did you.. not want it?" He could hear how hesitant the actor was about asking and noticed that he was actually worried.

Shaking his head, he sighed softly before setting the duck back into the bag. "... It's not that...It's nothing. Thank you.." Feeling the bag being pulled out of his grasp, he felt it being replaced with the plushie itself and looked up at the other questioningly.

"Let's.. take a walk." It was odd that the other would ask for them to walk being that it was already late enough as it is. Shrugging it off though, he nodded and got up off the swing and took a step in the cold snow before hugging the duck closer to himself. It was only getting colder and he wasn't sure how he could warm up. Myungsoo was taken by someone that was special to everyone in Infinite and there was just no way he could use him like how the couples that morning were using each other. Regardless of that thought, he found that Myungsoo had already wrapped his arms around his shoulder once again and began to walk. "The snow stopped, I bet you didn't notice."

Puffing out his cheeks, the lemon candy prince glanced away and shook his head. He definitely didn't notice that; then again, his mind has been occupied with many other things that werent even related to snow. His mind began wondering again as he fought the urge to rest his head on to the visual's shoulder. Even if no one would see, he just couldn't bring himself up to do it. It was impossible to. But soon, before he knew it, he felt the visual's hand tap the side of his head as if to tell him to do it. Once he stopped resisting and did it, he felt Myungsoo's head rest against his and was sure his cheeks were red.

"It's cold. You should've bundled up more." He could hear the other's care laced into the words as he nodded slightly. He didn't even expect to be out for this long, so it was slightly hard for him to be more bundled up. Deciding not to say a word though, Sungjong soon felt himself following the vocalist into another shop that was opened and looked around in confusion.

"Why are we in here?" He asked, blinking a few times before quickly pulling himself away from the male he was attached to. Not even bothering hearing the answer, he walked straight over to where a giant model bear was and marveled at how tall it was. "This guy ... I bet Sungyeol could pet him easily." He grinned at the thought, picturing out his choding hyung would play fight with the bear.  Standing right beside it's arm, he held the plushie in one hand and decided to measure his height with the bear using his hand. Puffing out his cheeks as he noticed the height difference, he tried to reach his hand up as high as it could go before giving it a few pets. "Good bear."

Of course it was childish of him, but that's just how he was. Soon, he balled up his hand and gave the bear a punch and let his hand rest there before looking back at  Myungsoo to make sure he was still around. Oddly enough, he was... along with his phone. That was pointed straight towards him. "The bear didn't deserve that abuse~" He heard the other say and that quickly made the younger male pout.

"Y-Yah! Why are you taking photos of me you creep!" He huffed out, resting his hands on his hips with the plushie hanging off one. He could see the smirk plastered on the other's face that made him really want to just smack him.

He noticed that his words didn't affect the other at all as he walked off into a random isle in the connivance store and bought a small meal before turning to him. " Do you want anything?" All Sungjong could do was shake his head as he glanced down at the plushie in his hold. How could he ask for anything else? Myungsoo wasn't even his boyfriend and already done so much. There was just no way he could ask for more from the other.

As he waited for the other to finish up and pay, he soon found the bag that his duck was given to him in right in front of him once again. "Here. Put the duck inside and lets go home." With a nod, Sungjong did as he was told before soon finding himself back in the cold with the other male. Swinging the bag back and forth. For some reason, it felt slightly heavier than just a toy in it, but all he could do was shrug it off. He was definitely tired and couldn't wait to get home.

"You know... Christmas is coming up soon" He heard the male bring up, trying to wonder why since it wasn't much of Sungjong's concern. He wasn't going to be spending it with the other, so why? Infinite would probably all have their own things to do that day and no one would see each other. The thought of that saddened him already. "Do you want anything?"

Sungjong blinked a few times. Did Myungsoo asked him what he wanted? Biting on his bottom lip, he could only shake his head because the thing he wanted was selfish. He wanted Myungsoo to be his, but that was something he couldn't say at all. With both of his hands tightening around the handle of the bag, he took in a deep breath and shook his head once more. "Ani. Being a part of Infinite is more than  enough"

"That's just like you to say." He could hear the other snicker as he said that and the younger male couldn't help but puff out his cheeks. Honestly, he shouldn't be that obvious. Surely there were things about him that other people didn't know, like.... Like how he- .... He had nothing. Be it watching horror movies or beating his bear or even how he enjoyed dancing to girl group dances... Everyone knew. Sighing in defeat, he refused to say anymore before finding himself right in front of the dorm.  "Ah... We're home"

Nodding to what Myungsoo said, he opened up the door and walked inside. He could tell the other followed in after him and quickly took off his shoes. The other members sounded as if they were sound asleep due to how quiet it was. "... Good night." Before he could go to his room, he was stopped by the other holding on to his wrist. His cheeks flushed slightly as he glanced back at the older male in question. "What... is it?"

It really looked as if Myungsoo was struggling to say something, but soon found the other shaking whatever it was on his mind to be shaking off. ".. Sleep well." With that, he noticed the other walking away back into his room and puffed his cheeks out. Kim Myungsoo was someone he will never understand.

Quietly making his way back into his room, he quietly got ready for bed before climbing up into his bunk along with the bag from earlier. Pouring out the contents of the bag on to his bed, he quickly placed the tissue papers back inside. He noticed a few items that werent there before...Or maybe the items were there but he never noticed it before due to how he was only interested in the plushie. Setting the duck to the side, beside his big white teddy bear, he noticed a box of pepero and banana milk on his bed.

Taking the box, he opened it and took a stick to eat before setting it aside due to something else catching his eye. It was an envelope, a rilakkuma decorated one. Pursing his lips gently, he carefully opened the seal and quickly pulled out the content, which was a folded paper.

His eyes scanned the paper carefully as he could feel his heart flutter and beat quickly at every word that was registered into his head.

" Lee Sungjong.

You haven't been smiling like you use to, and you should be aware that all of your hyungs are worried... Including me. I can proudly say that I'm more worried about you than anyone else out there. It disheartens me to see you like this, mostly since I know I'm the cause of it. Mianhaeyo. Honestly speaking though, you're pouty face and cheek puffing is adorable. I've been figuring out how to word my feelings for the longest time now, and finally... I think I've figured it out.

I... Love you dearly. Very dearly. You're the only person that brightens up my day. The lemon candy prince of Infinite is the only person that makes this ice prince happy. The maknae of Infinite makes it easy for the visual to go through each of my day with meaning... Let's... spend Christmas together, ok? If there is anything you want that day, just let me know. I may not be the best hyung, but believe me when I that you're the only person on my mind.

- Kim Myungsoo

PS... You and the other's think this... but... Sungyeol is not my boyfriend. He means a lot to me and is my best friend, but you should be more observant you naive little kid...

PSS.. You should check twitter."

Reading the end words of the letter, Sungjong pouted out and glanced over at the duck before giving it a whack. "Aish... Stupid Myungsoo...He better be ready for a needy Christmas partner." Taking out his phone, he went to Myungsoo's twitter, wondering why he had to check it before finding himself reddening deeply at what was posted. The maknae didn't find himself being as cute as the other had said he was, but clearly... his opinion didn't matter to the visual at all.

Even if you're smaller, you're cuter.         Even if you're petting it, you're cuter."

Both were captions of the photos that he had took of him with the bear. It was honestly quite embarrassing, but clearly nothing could be done. All he could do now was lie down in bed and sleep happily and soundly. He was now sure he would be smiling much more often than usual.

YEY I actually finished a fic... Comments would be nice ;A: ... please. I know it sems all jumbled up and makes no sense, but heck... I was just writing things cause I felt like it. OTL I was contemplating on making it a DongJong ending cause I love them more, but MyungJong seemed more fitting.

Chapter 3: So, what happened to Yeollie? Did they kill him and hide his body? How is anything at all solved by what just happened here? Isn't everything just exactly the same even though SJ managed to "smile"?

It really doesn't make any sense - you were right. It's really too bad to be so let down after reading an entire story. You must be a lot of fun on Christmas with all your prettily-wrapped presents that turn out to be empty boxes. Are you a sadist?

Chapter 3: Jesus Christ. You know what? I got teary eyed on this. I've always known of the fact that Sungjong wasn't really in his happiest disposition last year and this kinda pictured out what might have possibly happened during those days. The way you described the members was just on point. The way you made the story develop and how you slowly narrated Sungjong's struggles was perfectly captured and made into words. I was literally stuck to each and every word on this fic that I couldn't help but smile and feel aching at the saddest parts. The last two chapters were astonishing. How you captured their personalities and wrote them into what likely was a quick late night date was amazing. beyond amazing. And the ending? A total killer. I DIED OMG. I REAALLLY like you were able to use his tweets. It totally caught me off guard it was just so wonderful and my feels aaaaaah i cant omg see? I'm out words.

All in all, this was an amazing fic that I'd prolly read over and over and over again. Thank you for writing this :')

I love you, btw.
