Reunited

Hurdling back into reality, Hyoyeon ducked beside the sofa and hastily pulled out her phone to begin dialing 9-1-1.  Jessica stepped around the trembling Yuri and leaned against the arm of the sofa.  She reached down and snatched the device away, ending the call. "No need to call for an ambulance," Jessica said softly, her eyes smiling, pocketing the phone and turning away.  Despite Jessica's actions, Hyoyeon's fears were alleviated somewhat and she relaxed.  Jessica next nudged Yuri.  "I think Seo and Fany could use some help."  Together Yuri and Sunny began administering the wet compresses to the unconscious girls' heads.     

Sooyoung hooked her arms around Tiffany and dragged her off of Yoona and Taeyeon, laying her down off to the side.  Once the weight of Tiffany had been shifted, Yoona gingerly picked her head up enough and glared at Jessica, who was smugly leaning against the wall, looking quite pleased with herself.  "You shot me!" she howled in a horrified outburst.

"No, she didn't," Sooyoung countered softly as she took a compress from Sunny and pressed it to Tiffany's forehead.

"I'm bleeding!" Yoona exclaimed, as if realizing it for the first time, as she stared transfixed at one of Taeyeon's hands that was covered in the sticky fluid.

Jessica laughed.  "I shot you with a paintball!"

A ripple of confused murmurs spread around the room.  Yoona hesitated, not sure what to make of the statement, as Taeyeon cautiously lifted her hand, sniffed it, and made a face.  "It's just paint," she sighed in relief.  

Yoona continued to glare at Jessica.  "Then home come that hurt so badly?!  It feels like there's a hole in my back!"

The girl offered a shrug.  "The ball was small, the gun was powerful, the shot was close range.  You'll sustain some nasty bruising.  I heard it hit.  It sounded awful."  Jessica couldn't hide her grin as she pushed off from the wall and entered the kitchen.  She snagged a bottle of water from the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, Yuri had succeeded in waking Seohyun and was relating to her everything that had happened.  Taeyeon was still squished by Yoona and, too exhausted to push the girl off, decided to remain flat-out on the floor.

Just then Tiffany stirred and Sooyoung shifted uneasily.  Two eyelids fluttered open and the eyes rolled around, coming into focus.  Sooyoung blurrily came into view.  "Hey," Sooyoung timidly said, removing the wet rag from her friend's head.  Before Sooyoung had time to brace herself she was glomped and strugged not to fall backwards.

Jessica's laughter subsided, a satisfied smirk on her face.  "Looks like my work here is done."

"You have a lot of explaining to do," Taeyeon snipped nastily, despite the big smile plastered on her face.

Jessica released a long, dramatic sigh as she leaned back against the wall and crossed her feet.  She set her water down on the counter to her left and began tugging off her gloves.

"Get a move on," Sooyoung grunted grouchily, "or would you like me to tell them for you?  Some of us are tired, here."
