I’m all alone.

There’s no one here, not a single living soul. It’s so dark, so dark that it’s terrifying. So dark that it’s bringing back memories that I don’t want to remember. It’s too dark here, too dark…

Footsteps. I hear footsteps.

Someone’s running, running towards me.

“Dara!”

I hear my name. But I can’t see the one who called for me, I can’t see anything.

“Dara… Dara, run!”

All of a sudden, I can’t seem to breathe. I breathed in desperately, trying to get some air into my lungs. That voice was so familiar, so familiar that the very sound of it sparked a sharp pain in my chest.

“Who are you?” I heard myself whisper. My voice was trembling. I don’t know why I sound fragile, so vulnerable.

There were more footsteps now. I could hear people running, running away; the loud, desperate breathing, the fear that trickled off their exhausted bodies. I’m not alone, I know that now, but who are they?

My legs started moving on their own accord. I don’t know where they were leading me to, but I could hear my own gasps of fear as I ran with all my strength, as fast as I could.

I didn’t ever stop running. I couldn’t.

So on and on I ran, deeper and deeper into the darkness.

Dara

Her parents passed away when she was still a little child, and her brother (Taeyang) has been taking care of her ever since. Her brother’s constantly overseas on missions, and Dara has since grown used to living alone. Despite being poor, she’s popular and well-loved in school due to her sunny disposition and lovable personality.

Jiyong

Also orphaned at a young age, Jiyong and his older brother were taken in under the care of a powerful man since they were little kids. All these years, they have been trained and groomed into becoming the next-in-line to take over the clan. However, a shoot-out at one of their transactions left Jiyong’s older brother dead. The incident caused Jiyong to change – overnight, he retreated into his own shell and became cold and aloof, untouchable and unbreakable. Even so, he is highly popular in school due to his good looks and mysterious charm. Touted as the next leader of the clan, his only goal in life is to hunt down his brother’s murderer.
