The cab dropped her off in front of the building, that girl dressed in a baggy gray sweater and her hair pulled back neatly with headbands, she rushed into the elevator and spilled her drink a little as she pressed the button, "oops." she said. The elevator ascended and the door opened, she ran and once again spilled her drink when she opened the rehearsal room's door, "hi everyone!" she said.
"Geez, what time is it now? I know you're the dancing machine but you need to learn how to be punctual." the leader scoffed.
"Sorry~" she dropped her bag, "You know I have trouble waking up early. So, what part did I miss?"
The coreographer showed her the dance moves and she learned it in less than 15 minutes. Then they continued their rehearsal for another 30 minutes, and the youngest kid kept making mistake, the coreographer started to look impatient.
"Alright, take fifteen." the coreographer said, "Kiddo, c'mere."
"Yes, oppa?"
"What happened with you? I thought yesterday you've learned the moves quite well."
"Sorry, oppa.. I messed up, it's so hard, I think I need an extra lesson again." she looked down
"Let me teach her," the main dancer interrupted their conversation, "the last time I taught her she was beyond fine, she needs someone who can teach her gently, oppa."
"Up to you, ___. I'm not her mother."
"I'm not her mother either, I'm a good friend." she smiled almost too sincere it looked like a mocking smile
The coreographer turned his back against them and walked out of the room in annoyance.
"Jiejie(*1).. hmm, xiexie."
"Wow you're Chinese has improved." she laughed, "Well, for your coreography, you need to pop down like this..."
She patiently taught the youngest member, without they realized it's been almost an hour, and finally the maknae can catch up with the coreography. The other girls lied on the floor, scrolling their phone's browser, suddenly one of them shouted, "___, your dancing footage is on Youtube!!!"
"What?"
"Yes, it's you right? When you joined one of Chinese variety shows back when you were 12!"
"Omo!! Hahahaha" she laughed, "200 thousand people watched it already!"
"Look, I think the netizens started to discover your identity." the rapper showed her phone to her
She read it for a while, they found a bunch of speculations about her identity, some of them are right. Some of them are untrue facts and embarassing rumors which could trigger antis.
"I think Sooman-nim needs to clarify stuffs." the leader sighed, she pushed her phone's keyboard and the speaker so all of them can hear the conversation.
"Who do you call, unnie?"
"Sooman-nim, duh."
"A-arra.."
"Yeoboseyo?" the voice from the other line said
"Sooman-nim!!" the girls shouted in unisound
"Yes, what is it, my kids?"
"_____ has gained antis!" the rapper shouted carelessly
"Mwo?"
"Of course she's kidding!" the main dancer shot a glare towards the rapper
"By the way kids, I have good news for you."
"What is it, Ahjussi?"
"You will film for your teasers tomorrow morning!"
"Whoa! Really?" the leader's eyes widened
"Is it the only news you bring for us?"
"Well... I'm going to release the debut date!"
"WHAAA!!!" the girls shouted again in excitement
"Girls, chill out. You need to avoid people from now on, I bet they already stalked you since you come there often. But since it's California, I think you don't need to be really worried."
"Ahjussi.. Eh.."
"What is it, ___?"
"I just.. don't think I'm ready. I'm afraid the fans won't accept me as the leader of the group since I'm not Korean."
The girls hugged her, "It's okay, leader."
"Yes, it's okay, ___. Me and Jimmy Lovine(*2) have considered carefully and our decision is final. You're a good leader so far." Lee Sooman said,
"By the way, go back to your dorm now. Rehearsal's done! Save your energy for tomorrow!"
