Agitated
AberrationMornings were awkward. Actually, everything was awkward. Jongwoon didn't know how to act or what to expect around Siwon and Han Geng. He obviously didn't trust his two hosts, as Geng liked to refer to themselves, but since the two assassins were being polite Jongwoon couldn't very well be rude and moody. Well, he was a little moody, but given the circumstances that he was in he figured that he was allowed to be moody. Truth be told, Jongwoon had been a nervous wreck ever since he woke up in the safe house, his nerves were frayed.
He approached the dining table and greeted Siwon with a half-hearted smile and chose the seat at the far end of the table. There was no conceivable situation in which Jongwoon would be comfortable in the same room as the assassin. Siwon may be acting like a perfect gentleman for the time being, but Jongwoon wasn't about to forget that said gentleman had tried to kill both him and Sungmin just a few days prior.
Jongwoon gingerly sipped on his cup of coffee and hoped that his presence would go unnoticed while Siwon's attention was absorbed by the morning paper, but Geng's cheerful morning greeting made it impossible not to draw attention to himself. Jongwoon fumbled the coffee mug in his hands and splattered the hot liquid all over the table and his own lap. He leapt up from his seat with a distressed cry while trying to brush the searing liquid off of his thighs. He clutched at his loose pajama bottoms with a pout and apologized to Geng profusely for making a mess. The soft-spoken Chinese man merely cooed and fussed over the photographer while apologizing for startling him so early in the morning. Siwon, on the other hand, finally put down his morning newspaper and started chuckling.
“You're a bigger hazard to yourself than you are to the organization,” Siwon mused. “Yet they deemed it fit to send Sungmin after you?”
Jongwoon pressed his lips into a thin line and excused himself so he could change out of his clothes.
“He won't be coming for you,” Siwon called out to Jongwoon.
Jongwoon froze in his tracks and fisted his hands into the hem of his shirt. The thought of Sungmin coming to save him was the only thing that kept his sanity from teetering over the edge as he spent the majority of his days staring out the window longingly.
“He will.”
“No, he won't. He thinks you're dead.” Siwon said flatly.
Jongwoon released a shaky breath, “I thought you needed me for bait. What good am I to you, if he thinks I'm dead?”
“You're amusing.”
“You're an .” Jongwoon stomped out of the kitchen, trying to hold back the hot tears that threatened to fall.
Han Geng bopped Siwon's head none too gently. “You're being cruel.”
Siwon rubbed the top of his head woefully. “I just wanted to .”
“You play around too much, this is how you complicated the whole situation with Sungmin. You were supposed to recruit him, not start a feud.”
“I always approach Sungmin with the best intentions, but things never work out well. His reaction to me is always violent.”
“You should have explained things rather than shooting him during the switch.”
“He was wearing a vest, knocking him out was the only thing that saved him from the blast!”
“He doesn't know that.” Han Geng sat down and rubbed
