The Cruel World
Changjo simply laughed and followed you on the street.
"
But you ignored him and walked without giving him a second glance.
He pranked her.
He almost gave her a heart attack!
No way she was gonna forgive him. Especially because it was on their 100th day being in relationship.
A relationship you loved being in.
A relationship you loved being in.
"I'm sorry
"Pleeease forgive me!!!" he asked cutely.
"Not a bit." you replied angrily.
But deep inside, she did want to forgive him and give him a hug.
Only if he hadn't fake gifted her a box full of large scary rubber hairy spiders...
He knew she was afraid of them.
"Baby please!!" he ran and hugged you from behind.
"Please... I'm sorry..." he whispered in your ear.
It slightly gave you goosebumps but you ignored it.
"You knew it, and yet you did it." you glared at him.
"Baby!!" he whined like a kid.
"No." you gave a short reply.
"No?" he made an ayegyo voice unknowingly.
"Yes."
"Oh really?" it gave a creepy feeling.
"Wait... What are you up to? I don't like the tone of your voice!" you whispered.
You knew what was coming up.
So, in simple words, you ran for your life.
"Aagh!!" you playfully screamed.
Changjo was right behind you with his outstretched hands.
He was on a tickle attack mode.
He caught up with you and started tickling you.
"Please!! Stop! I'm sorry!! Stop!!" you gasped for air and continued laughing uncontrollably.
Good thing the street was not crowded; and barely two or three people passed, looking at the couple as if they were crazy.
"No!!" he also laughed at the sight of you trying to wriggle free.
"Leave me!!" you laughed and managed to escape from his grasp and ran towards the road.
Big mistake.
"
And he chased you again.
*Honk Honk*
Your eyes widen with fear and your body was frozen.
You were in the middle of the road and a silver car was heading in your direction.
No.. It was right towards you in a high speed.
"
"Changjo ah.." you were shivering out of fear. His arms around you gave you security and comfort.
That road was dangerous because any vehicle can pop up suddenly without any notice.
It all happened in a span of one minute.
Followed up by that silver car was a van, travelling on the second lane.
Right where the couple were.
"What's happening today?!" Changjo screamed in his mind.
The van didn't even have time to honk.
Changjo pushed you and so did you.
You both pushed each other off the road to protect each other.
But you both never realized the van turned to the side to avoid hit.
He fell on the ground and his head hard on the pavement, making a deep gash and heard your scream.
He could feel blood oozing out of his scrapes from the elbow and jaw.
He was dizzy...
All he knew that, you pushed him hard.
Everything else was blurred and he was on the floor, dazed and trying gain command over his body once again.
"
The driver muttered cursed in shock and climbed out of the van.
He quickly called the ambulance and rushed to the teenager, whom he crashed into.
You were on the road, losing blood every second that ticked by.
You broke your arm and the bone pierced out of your flesh.
Your left leg was twisted and half of your face bruised with the impact you met with van's wind shield.
You were hit by the van.
"Oh !!" the driver muttered.
Changjo managed to get conscience and crawled painfully towards you.
"
He delicately cradled your face, slowly wiping your blood off the face.
"Baby please.. Don't.." he sobbed uncontrollably.
You laid there. Without any moment.. Slowly losing blood with life.
Slowly dying.
"Baby please! Don't do this to me!!! You promised me you would never leave me when I confessed!" he whimpered desperately.
"YOU PROMISED!" he screamed.
He didn't care if the blood from his gash covered half of his face, nor if some went in his mouth.
At the moment, the ambulance arrived.
They spilled out of the vehicle with 2 stretchers.
They gently placed you in the stretcher and carried you from him.
Out of fatigue and injuries, the moment she was taken out of his reach, he collapsed.
The moment he couldn't heard her breathing anymore.
That evening. It was all silent.
Changjo was in the hospital.
Literally dead.
He slept and slept.
And didn't wake up for three whole months.
Without any moments.
His friends tried to persuade him to wake up... But no sound went inside his mind, triggering his brain to wake up.
Until one day.
"
He woke up.
His fractured leg and the stitches on the head were completely healed. But his arm was still covered in plaster of paris.
His friends and family were overjoyed that he was back and wide awake...
But soon.. They weren't anymore.
"Where's
The accident changed his life.
He wasn't anything like he used to be before.
Not even a bit.
His friends and family told him she were taken away by her parents to continue her medical treatment.
"Is she gonna be okay??"
With grave expression, they said yes.
And so, he waited everyday.
He did.
For her...
The storm was on full rage and he flinched every time the thunder striked.
He wasn't actually afraid of them.. But scared for her, as he knew she was terrified of them.
And as the storm continued, his mind wandered making his eyes go blank yet once again.
As his routine... His memory went back to the time he first met her...
That fated wonderful day..
He kept on dreaming until he heard a familiar voice.
A voice he didn't hear for the past six months.
He looked up cautiously as he had been doing for the last three months.
Slowly his eyes filled with tears with surprise and happiness.
There she stood, right in front of him.
The side of her face was still darkened and she slightly limped.
Her broken arm was still plastered.
"
She slowly walked towards him, crying.
"Changjo ah.." you weeped and fell on your knees.
Changjo ran to her and hugged while kneeling in the process.
Their tears spoke it all.
His worries and upsets.
Her loneliness and gladness.
He cupped her face. The same face that he wiped blood off on the road.
Her hands were wound around his waist and laid her head on his shoulder.
"
Watching all this from the door, Niel turned his back against the wall.
Tears slowly rolled down and his heart ached from the sight he saw.
He couldn't bare to see his best friend like that.
Not even a bit.
But he bit back his pain and slowly started to walk away from Changjo's room.
He didn't want to see his friend out of his mind, crying alone and sobbing, hugging the air.
Like many times before.
He, with a heavy heart, walked away.
Pretending that he never heard his cry. Never saw what he hated to see.
And joined the rest of his friend who were all having the same sad feelings for the youngest, who lost his mind forever.
