Legend of the Lunar Rain
Description
"The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections."
___________________
The Moon has always been faithfully following the Earth's orbit for millions of years -- from the time when the Egyptian fishermen wake through the Nile River to the moment when space science astronomers write notes about the light years of this natural satellite.
There was once a legend where it was believed by the elders betokens the death descending upon a new-born lunar deity, creating a phenomenon of an unknown bright and warm-blue color element slowly fall down the faults of the Moon. The legend entails a theory that once you happen to attest to this occurrence, your true heart’s desire will be awarded to you during the seven risings of the sun, but in exchange, your life will be presented to the dying God of the Moon.
No one was ever proven as a witness ever since.
Time waits for nothing to be left clear, even for this legend. The modern era transitions faster and the pace of living shortens in a pitiful manner. What earthlings call as ‘being busy’ and ‘hectic’ eventually led to the creation of another world within another world -- the one they subconsciously enclosed themselves in. Sadly, they became blind from the beauty and truth of the moon’s shifting.
But sometimes, all it takes is to lose everything you once had, to take a long walk towards the next town’s park, to stand atop an old monkey bar, to weep as the flickering streetlights and trees accompany you, and to look at the dark sky where the beauty of Luna can be found. You'll discover the new-found sight that will free you from the room the society locked you in and your eyes will be void of any fog created by the modernity. Then, you'll ask yourself why you haven't noticed the thing you're seeing now, the Lunar Rain, as clear as the sunlight despite this time of night.
Just like what Choi Minho did.
