diamante (d -män-t ) is a seven member girl group produced by Kwon Boa, debuting under SM Entertainment. This group was originally planned as a project group by the Queen of Kpop herself, where the girls were selected personally and trained under the watch of Boa.

The main purpose on choosing these girls to be under her watch is because they have been trainees for far too long that Boa felt that their talents are going to waste, as she can see that even as trainees they might hold more potential than the ones that have already debuted. She also thought of helping them build their own career without them debuting as artistes under the management, and working under her instead after she settled her contract with SME and starting her own management company.

Unlike the other trainees from their company, the girls are not focused only on training their vocal and dancing skills, but they are also exposed on choreographing and music/lyrics composing. As a shareholder of the company, Boa already talked to the chairman on her plans for the girls and Lee Sooman had agreed, thus making it easier for her to take the girls together on her tours, letting them meet the people she worked with, helping them learn and see for themselves how the music industry works.

However, in late 2011, the mainboard of SME has decided that they will debut the girls after acknowledgigng their talents through the annual trainees' showcase, where the girls did not cover any artistes' songs like the others but performed their own; separately as individuals and a group dance performance choreographed by their lead and main dancers. Boa was against it at first, since she was the one who payed more attention to the girls. But the mainboard stated that the girls are still trainees under the company, and although Boa is a shareholder she is also an artiste within the company, bounded by contract. And although she got Lee Sooman on her side, the decision always followed by majority yet Boa still defends for the right on her girls. Finally, after a few rows and heated discussions, they come to agreement that the girls will debut under SME, but Boa will take credit as their producer and become their head manager, as in anything that the company will plan for the girls will have go through her first.
