title : 1000年、ずっとそばにいて ( 1000 years, always by my side )

summary : 5 girls woke up one day and was told that they were already dead, but their strong will have made them eligible to become shinigami. they were given a choice whether to be one or continue to the afterlife, but they had to go under training for 300 days before making their decision; following their assigned 'seniors' to see themselves how the job is done.

Shinigami (死神, "death god" or "death spirit") is an entity in
Japanese folklore that is responsible for seeing that a person
dies at their appointed time and then guiding their spirit to be
judged in the afterlife. In this respect, Shinigami are related to
the Western concept of the Grim Reaper. Though the Grim
Reaper is a single entity, there are multiple shinigami which are
often imagined as working together.

she stood closely to the man beside her, trying to wad off the chilly air as she watched
the people standing in line by the bus stand; all set with their suitcases. he flipped
his watch out of his pocket, but didn't say anything. everyone was quiet, making the
stranded bus stand even more gloomy- even if that is possible. she poked the man's
arm; silently regretting it as cold eyes peering under the old-fashined top hat.
"um. so." she started, almost whispering even though she knew that no one would actually
pay any attention to what she'd be saying anyway. "these people, where will the bus take them?"
"to the valley." he stated simply. she waited for a better explanation but decided to drop
it as the man ignored her right after; continuing to stare towards the end of the road.
she sighed, burying her hands in her front pockets of her coat; playing with the small
thread sewn inside the left one.
"I bet they're sad." she suddenly stated, making the man turned towards her direction.
"they left their loved ones behind. they're not even talking to each other. it must be lonely."
I already feel lonely. she kept it to herself. it startled her when she heard a soft chuckle.
the man hid his eyes as he tipped his hat. "my sweet child." he said softly, but the smile
on his face made the hair behind her nack stood. it was eerie... eeriely beautiful..
"that's not for you to judge. every soul has their own story. for what we may know, they
might be glad they're gone from the world." he faced away as he heard a familiar rustle
coming towards them. "I know I did."
Foreword
↠before we begin;
1) subscribe if you want to apply, or after you apply, or if you get chosen. well, whatever floats your boat.
2) this will be a shinee + you fic. u no like shinee???? well, nothing I can do about it. /shrugs.
3) although this will be mostly shinee-centric, your relationship with shinee doesn't have to be romantically inclined though. you can have a platonic, sibling-like relationship and choose other idols to be your love interest as long as they are in SME (suju, dbsk, exo k+m, etc.) and maybe another shinee member who isn't your mentor. since basically shinee is your somewhat-mentor/supervisor and you just wanna stay it that way, why not?
4) this will not be a love story. they will be minimal romance in this unless you make shinee your love interest, in which, I will still keep it to minimal level. maybe towards the end but yeah maybe.
5) speaking of which, onew will be taken as my partner harhar and no I will not be self-centered and keep the story as equal and fair as possible :p
6) no deadline yet. maybe I will close it later than 'once upon a dream' (my other apply story) so please don't rush your application.
7) I'm actually very shinee-biased, okay? I cannot do anything about it. sobs.
8) one protege for each shinee member, so I'll choose four since I'll be in this.
9) rules and application form along with plotlines will be up later.

hello peeps. yes. another apply story. but this will be a more
biased one as a proof of my undying love towards onew shinee.
