Ch.4 “First Day”

Jasmina’s POV

I put my tray away and gathered up my bag in confusion. I headed out of the dining hall and attempted to find my way to my first class. It had been ten minutes since I left the dining hall and I still couldn’t find my class. I held the paper up to my face hoping that somehow that would help me see where I needed to go better. “Lost?” I turned around to address the small sudden voice that had spoken to me. “Um yeah….can you help me find where this class is?” She smiled and grabbed the paper from me. “Oh world history…I’m in that class. We can go together.” I suddenly felt relieved. “My name is Jasmina” I said as I stuck my hand out to her. She grabbed it and accepted the handshake. “I’m Jessica. Welcome to Madam Eve’s!” She seemed cheerful for this time of day.

“Well let’s hurry so we’re not late.” I quickly followed behind her as we made our way to the classroom. “How long have you been going here Jessica?” “This is my second year…how about you?” We rounded another small corner. “This is my first day…I’m pretty nervous.” We suddenly entered the classroom and sat down next to each other. “Don’t worry…it’s not such a bad place. A little uptight sometimes but other than that it’s okay. Plus I hear you already have a secret admirer.” I blushed slightly and looked down at my desk. Amber walked in with a group of four other girls trailing right behind her. They took up the whole small row behind me. I tensed up as I realized Amber was the one directly behind me.

A tall well dressed man walked into the room and stood directly in front of the chalk board. “Hello everyone, I’m Mr. Rivers and I’ll be your professor for World History.” Thank god it wasn’t a female….I don’t get along with female teachers. The professor settled into his lesson plan for the day and began filling the chalk board with notes. I began writing and every so often I could feel a tickling sensation on the back of my neck. I reached my hand back to scratch at it and brush it away but it just kept happening. When it happened again I went to slap the back of my neck and I heard giggling from behind me…..Amber. I turned around and stared at her big eyes and even bigger smile. She winked at me once more and I quickly turned around.

I couldn’t help but smile slightly to myself as I remembered the slight showing of her cleavage from her shirt. I blew the thoughts away and continued to take notes. Some of the things here and there were interesting but for some reason I still just couldn’t keep my attention. My mind kept wandering back to Amber. She had a fine jaw and the way her dark hair swept it accented it beautifully. She had small lips yet they had a full plumpness to them. I could feel small muscles tightening in between my legs. What the hell was going on? I don’t like this girl…at least I didn’t think that I did. I got so distracted with my thoughts that I didn’t hear the teacher calling my name. “Jasmina…would you like to join the rest of the class or continue staring off into space?” I blushed slightly and turned my attention to the front of the room while other members of the class started laughing.

“Quiet down ladies…now where were we?” I just wanted to get out of here already. Other girls were talking but they weren’t getting single out for their actions…only me. I took down a few more notes when suddenly a loud bell dismissed us. “Hey Jessica, is it okay if I copy your notes?” “Sure that’s no problem. I’ll just meet you for lunch.” With that she gathered her belongings and headed off to her next classroom. I didn’t really need her help finding my next one since it was only down the hall a little. “Jasmina I’d like to see you real quick before you head to your next class.” Oh great…first day and I’m already in trouble. The rest of the classroom cleared while I walked with shame towards the teacher’s desk. “What do you need Mr. Rivers?” I nervously clung to the over shoulder strap on my backpack and a book in my other hand.

He walked towards me slowly. “Your behavior in class today…I can’t say that I approve of it.” I went to make my apologies but I was suddenly stopped by the motion of him sweeping my hair out of my face. “You’re a lot prettier than the other girls Jasmina, don’t let it go to waste.” I was alarmed by his movement but I didn’t quite know how to react to it. Instead I nodded and quickly left the room. What had just happened? I made my way to my next class and tried to think about anything other than what had happened previously in my other class.

Ambers POV

My heart beat was racing at an alarming rate. I could feel all of the muscles in my body tightening and loosening with each movement of my legs that I made. I jumped over hurdle after hurdle and made a full pass around the track. I allowed myself to catch my breath as I went around the track once more with a brisk walk. The whistle was blown and I stepped off the track and grabbed a towel to begin patting my forehead dry. I brushed the sweat off and wrapped the towel around my neck to drape over my shoulders. I took a long drink of cold water and sat down on the bleachers still trying to catch my breath. “Good job Amber! You knocked off seven seconds from your original time” the gym teacher shouted out to me. I nodded in acceptance and slumped into a lounging position in the bleachers; I was exhausted and I was definitely going to need a shower later tonight.

“Hey Amber!” I turned around and saw Sulli walking down the bleachers towards me. I could tell by the look on her face that she had a story to tell me…that or just some gossip. “So you know that new girl Jasmina right? Well she had gotten called after class by Mr. Rivers. I went back by the room because I thought I left something and when I passed by I saw them in there together….I think there might be some kind of relationship going on between them.” I brushed more sweat off of my forehead before I fully reacted to what she had said. “Mr. Rivers is just a ert….plus why would she want him?” I could feel myself suddenly getting jealous. “I don’t know Amber…wait; are you jealous?” I hated the fact that she could read my mind. “No…I was just saying.” I didn’t have to look to know that she was rolling her eyes at me.

“Uh-huh….you’re such a liar. Oh wait phone call! I’ll talk to you later!” She ran off answering her call which I’m sure was from her boyfriend. I grabbed my towel and ran it through my hair drying away any sweat that there might have been. I stepped down from the bleachers and made my way towards the locker room to gather my belongings. I would have showered now, but I needed to hurry to my next class. I would just have to shower later tonight. The whole walk to my next class all I could visualize was Jasmina and Mr. Rivers together. I wanted to rip his head off! I saw her first damn it and I was going to have her. I wasn’t really the jealous type but when I saw something I wanted…I didn’t want to let it go.

I got lost in a day of new introductions, taking notes, filling out papers, answering questions, raising my hand, and a heavy migraine. By the time the day of classes had finally been over and I made it back to my room I was completely exhausted. I would definitely have to use the day off tomorrow to relax. How it worked here at Madame Eve’s was that you’d have a day for classes and then the next day would be a day off. So on and so forth. I grabbed the headphones off of my nightstand and began listening to music hoping that it would help me sleep. All I remember is hearing the sound of the door opening before my exhaustion finally took over me.

Jasmina’s POV

I walked into the room and I could see Amber sprawled out on her bed listening to her head phones. She was rustling in her sleep and tossed and turned slightly. She must have been very tired because she hadn’t even changed out of her uniform. I let the strap of my bag slide off of my shoulder and I placed the bag down at the foot of my bed. I sat down on my bed and pulled my shoes off. I stood up and slid off my skirt and ed my shirt. I folded them neatly and put them on my desk chair. I walked over to my closet and pulled out a silk night gown. It was lavender and had lace straps. I pulled on a pair of small shorts to wear underneath in hopes that I would avoid an embarrassment like the one I had encountered this morning.

I could hear Amber snoring lightly. I looked over at her and couldn’t help but giggle lightly to myself. I decided to go ahead and pull a blanket up over her. While doing so, my nose picked up a familiar scent. I leaned down and sniffed the source of the smell that had been coming from her neck. That was my perfume! I pulled away as she began to turn in her sleep again. I made my way back over to my bed and slid underneath the covers. Her light snoring was a rhythmic pattern that made it easier for me to fall asleep and fall asleep I did.

Amber’s POV

I jumped awake suddenly as a loud song began playing. It shocked me and I about screamed. I immediately pulled the headphones out of my ears. I looked at my alarm clock and it read ten in the morning. I was surprised my iPod had a battery life to even last that long….and that I had that many songs! I wrapped the headphones around it and placed it on the nightstand next to my bed. I looked over and Jasmina was still sound asleep. I could hear laughter coming from the room next door; they must have been up over there. I stood up from the bed and stretched my arms out. I heard Jasmina grumble slightly in her sleep and she rolled over to where she was on her back. The blanket slid down slightly and I could see that she was wearing a silk nightgown. One of the lace straps had fallen down her shoulder tauntingly.

I walked over to her and leaned down into her face. She smelled like the perfume I had used earlier of hers. I swept my nose across her neck and breathed her in….breathtaking. Her nose twitched slightly and a smile appeared on my lips. I was holding back but it was of no use. I leaned further in and placed a small kiss on her lips. The pressure wasn’t as full as I wanted it to be but it would have to do for now. I leaned back up and saw that her eyes were still closed so I went in for another kiss making this one even longer. The air coming out of her nose tickled my face. The kiss was soft and sweet. For a moment I opened my airs and I saw that hers were wide and staring back at me. I jumped back instantly and she began screaming….
