Yong Hwa’s POV

When uncle died, I was devastated, truly devastated that I wanted to kill myself at that moment, but I can’t die for I need to live because I need to take care of my brother and my sister, they are all I have in this world and I shall protect them no matter what.

Uncle’s old friends came to pay their respects, there were Germans, French, Japanese, Irish, British, and of course Koreans. A lot of people paid their respects to Uncle but the truth is I have to say that these so called friends of Uncle are all suspects for his murder. I think I will be able to find out more about Uncle’s killer if I can solve the coded message given to me by uncle so to solve it I asked the help of my siblings.

I thought that Jung Shin could’ve solved the code in hours but 2 days have passed and he’s still not done

Jung Shin: well because of my pride I forgot that we have internet connection and why I didn't use the internet  it was all because of my stupidity and pride

Yong Hwa: but you solved it without using the internet right?

Jung Shin: yes, but it would’ve been faster using the internet

Yong Hwa: no problem as long as we can decipher the message

Yu Jin: so what does it say?

Yong Hwa: whoa! Don’t be like that, it was like you were a ninja

Listen carefully. The message uncle left you was a simple one he just made it a little complicated . He made the message by using a substitution cipher. At first I thought it was alphabetical index with letters but it can’t be then I tried using octal and still was wrong, so I tried by mixing substitution methods but still something was missing so I told myself that the letters and numbers are joined as one and I remembered that it was something uncle taught me, substitution by hexadecimal and I finally got it.

Yu Jin: Hexadecimal?

Jung Shin It’s like this

Letters A-I = 61-69                                      space = 20

Letters J-O = 6A-6F                                     period = 2E   

Letters P-Y = 70-71                                     comma = 2C

And letter Z= 7A

 We start from 20 and the joined letter and number starts with 2A but the other numbers and Joined LN (letter and number) are other punctuation marks and special characters so no need to classify them
