Lesson 3

Topic/Subject marking particles

Hello everyone! We are back with a new lesson! This time we will be going over topic and subject marking particles.

As you should know Subject particles mark the subject of the sentence, and topic particles mark the topic of the sentence.

Let’s go over the subject marking particles first, alright? The subject marking particles are 이/가. 이is used after words that end with a vowel, and 가 comes after words that end in a vowel.

            Here are some examples:

가방+이=가방이 (Bag)

학교+가=학교가 (School)

Once you get used to it, it’s not that difficult. Now we can go over topic marking particles. The Topic marking particles are ,는/은. You use 는 when the word ends in a vowel and you use 은 when the word  ends in a consonant.

            Here are some examples:

가방+은=가방은

학교+는= 학교는

Alright that is all for now! If you have any questions you can ask me!

Haha, sadly I can read and write in Hangul, but unless it's a name or a word I know, I have no clue what anything says XD
