Lesson 2 - Goodbye

Do you want to learn Korean?

Lesson 2

Good-bye

Hello everyone~! We are back with another lesson! In the last lesson we had went over how to introduce yourself.  In this lesson we will learn how to say “Good bye”

In Korean there are two ways to say good bye. One is when you are the one leaving, and one is when you are the one staying.

·        안녕히 세요

·        안녕히 계세요

Now look at the two. The two literally mean, Go in peace, and stay in peace.

안녕히 세요 is when you are the one staying and the person or people you are talking to are leaving. This literally means “Go in peace”

안녕히 세요 is when you are the one leaving and the other person or people you are talking to is staying. This is literally translated to “Stay in peace”

So if you are both leaving what would you say? 안녕히 세요 is the answer. Since this means “Go in peace” and you both are leaving you would say this to the other.

So that was a short lesson like the first one correct? I don’t want to fry your brains with a bunch of information that you can’t learn in one day! Tomorrow, we will go over topic/subject marking particles!

I hope this lesson helped you! If you have any questions feel free to ask me!

Haha, sadly I can read and write in Hangul, but unless it's a name or a word I know, I have no clue what anything says XD
