Fourth cup
Coffee Shop (Elusive Hearts)Fourth Cup (of my heart)
For rare moments of emotions flying.
For courage much appreciated.
For ordinary nights that turn out, well... you'll see.
Seohyun stares blankly at the scribbled words before her eyes are unblinking. She thinks about her best friend and her brother and a hundred more things that include her coffee shop, the wedding, and again, her Tiffany, the only sisterly best friend she has and possibly she will ever have.
Truth is, among all of the three, she's the most afraid of changes (though admitting it will come next to impossible) between her brother and Tiffany. Changes made her nervous and uneasy. She wanted to keep things the way they are and she wished she could stop everything from changing.
But it’s too late now, things will change and she knows her friend may say that she's alright and that she's going to be the same that nothing will change. But that will all just lie obviously. Tiffany is the martyr kind, period.
She shrugs at the very thought, leaning her head on the book. Why did Hwang Tiffany choose Seo Siwon? There are many fishes in the ocean, she often heard elders speak, why did it have to be the one who thinks of her only as a sister? She doesn't even want to imagine being in Tiffany's place.
Just when Seohyun thinks her head might explode, a voice stops all her train of thought. "You're not thinking of me are you, Seohyun-ssi?"
Her head shot up and she got on her feet, startled. Jung Yonghwa stood in front of her with a smile that might have appeared charming to others but not to her. Not when she just scared the hell out of her. Seriously, this guy will give her heart problems she never had before.
"Y-You...! What a-are are you doing here?"
"You really never say 'hello' or 'hi' first do you?"
She crossed her arms glaring at him. "My coffee shop is not a hotel or your house to just come and go when you want to, Jung Yonghwa-ssi." The words came out in such haste; she barely realized that she hadn't meant a single word.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt. Did I come at the wrong time?" He genuinely looked sorry.
And she couldn't help but feel bad for taking her frustration out on him. "No, I should apologize, Yonghwa-ssi. It's just... it's been a long day." She sighs.
He nods a little, his expression with sympathy "I understand... I think I'll go for today, Seohyunssi. It seems like you need time alone." He gives her a polite bow and starts to walk away.
She swallows the invisible lump in as she feels the sudden urge to say something, anything, but nothing comes out. Her mind is racing to different thoughts.
On impulse, "Stay... please" she hears her own voice that didn't seem to belong to her anymore.
He stops and it takes him a second before he turns around and looks at her as if he wants to say something but nothing comes out.
She breathes and stares back at him realizing there's no backing down now. "I mean, you can stay Yonghwa-ssi. I could use some distractions, I think..."
She was half expecting h
