The Fire-Safe

Description

Friendship.

Keepsakes.

Sadness.

Bittersweet endings.

And letting go.

A/N: This was made on the spur of the moment - it just came to me and I had to pump it out all at once.

I submitted this to the Write Like The Wind challenge. Prompt #62: Composure. 966-word one-shot. Officially my SHORTEST fic ever :)

Stock in my poster taken from http://dryicons.com

Foreword

"You'll find the key to the fire-safe between the box-spring and the mattress," she said. For a moment, she laughed and closed her eyes over some memory she was revisiting.

I knew what she wanted to do.

She wanted it so much; it wasn't my place to stop her.
