Wooyoung

Believe in You

Looking at the lunch you prepared yourself, you smiled in satisfaction. It was what Wooyoung said would help best in getting you healthier. Some white meat chicken, vegetables and just a little bit or rice. It took you a while to learn how to prepare it correctly and have it taste good. From all the trials you did on making it, today was probably the only time you succeeded in creating it perfectly. Eating it slowly, you took out your multiple acceptance letters.

From this exact day, it would be two months before you graduate and you really needed to make your decision on which college you were going to attend. You knew what you were looking for though. You wanted a university that had a good volleyball team because you really wanted to be a part of that team. It had been the goal you have had for a while now.

Reading through once again, you saw that Logalis University had an extremely amazing team. Their team was rated part of the top 5 volleyball teams in the country. It had been the school you wanted to attend, but you needed to consider every option before deciding to send in your reply and actually register yourself for that university.

“Long time no see there Ji-min.” You heard a voice sneer at you. Putting down the papers you were looking at, you almost grimaced in horror at seeing HIM in front of you. You have done so well in the past months of trying to avoid him and seeing him in front of you was really upsetting.

“Hi.” You murmured out. You saw him and his friends smirk at getting your attention. Gripping your lunch box tightly, you were wishing you were anywhere but in front of Kyuhyun and his friends.

“Look Kyuhyun. Look at her food!” One of his friends said before he burst out laughing. That got his other friends to look at what you were eating and laugh along with him. You bit your life, stopping yourself from showing any emotion.

“Oh so this is what you have been doing to lose some of that disgusting fat you lug around with you. I do admit that I am quite flattered you are doing all of this to impress me.” Kyuhyun said with a scoff. Boiling in anger at his arrogant confidence that anything you did was for him, you bit out your retort.

“I did not do anything for your sake.”

That caused his friends to croon out. “Ohho! Did you hear what that said Kyuhyun!” They all said, laughing. Kyuhyun, looked angrily at you for even daring  to try to talk back to him. Ever since you found out about his false façade with it came to you, he completely dropped the nice act and showed the horrible devil he actually was.

He smacked the lunch box from your hands and you watched it fall to the ground in shocked horror.

“Eat from the floor like the pig you are. You don’t deserve to be talking back to people who are better than you. You should have already felt grateful that someone like me would even talk to you. Watch yourself and learn your damn place.” He spat out before he walked away with his laughing friends. Of course his friends didn’t forget to jeer at you and trample the food you were eating.

It was a while before you snapped yourself out of that stupor. You got up from your chair and slowly knelt know at the ruined meal you had. Smiling sadly at how your hard work turned out, you began cleaning it up. And just when you finally thought everyone was finally letting you off, this had to happen. And from the person you once thought the world of. It hurt. It definitely did.

-----------------------

“Again.” You shouted out as you got Wooyoung to spike the ball to you. Diving for it, you landed on the floor but managed to bump the ball up. Sweat was steadily dripping from your face and you felt every single muscle on your body aching. You hands felt raw from all the time you drove for the ball and you could feel that a lot of parts of your body will be blue and black by the end of today. But you didn’t care at all. You didn’t care about that or the fact that you had been doing this for the past 3 hours. Overexerting yourself was definitely not in your mind because all you wanted to do was play. Play to forget all the hurtful words Kyuhyun said to you. Play to remind yourself that you’re not useless. That you weren’t what he said you were.

“Again. Harder.” You gritted out as you stood up on wobbly legs. Wooyoung looked at you, concerned with the way you wouldn’t give yourself a break. You just kept on going and going, and he was scared that you were going to seriously hurt yourself.

“No, no more Ji-min. This is enough. As you coach I’m telling you to stop.” He said in a soothing voice. Not listening to what he said, you picked up a ball and went up to the wall. If he wasn’t going to practice with you, then you were practicing with the wall. Tossing the ball to the wall, you watched it bounce back and head towards you. Bending you knees, you started to bump in back, having a back and forth bumping match between the wall and you. Just as you were getting really into it, the ball was snatched away by Wooyoung.

“I said stop it.” Once again ignoring him, you picked up another of the ball lying around and went to another part of the wall. Hitting the ball to the wall, you began practicing your spiking. Hitting it harder and harder, you were putting every effort in that ball, you felt yourself go faster and faster, running for that ball. Harder. Faster. You had to hit it harder, get better, get stronger.

And that was when you felt arms around you holding you trembling body. “Then as you friend, please I beg you to stop it already Ji-min. That’s enough.” You struggled a little bit, trying to wrench yourself away from his arms and go play volleyball, but his arms tightened up on you, not letting you go. You stopped struggling and stood slack in his arms. That was when you felt the pure burning all over your body. Every single part of your body ached. It felt like even your hair was hurting. Panting heavily, you almost collapsed on the floor once Wooyoung let you got.

He caught you before you made it to the ground. “That’s why I said to stop.” He said sighing. He looked at the blank look on you face and then he knew that something was wrong. You weren’t just doing this because you wanted to get better. Something was definitely wrong.

Placing you carefully on one of the benches and handed you a bottle of water. “Stay here and drink. I don’t want you to get dehydrated. Wait for me.” Wooyoung started to walk back to the office once he saw you take a small sip of the water. Taking more and more sips of the water, you didn’t realize how parched you were until you felt the cooling sensation the water provided as it glided down your raw throat.

When Wooyoung returned with your bag and his, he was pleased to see the empty bottle next to you.

“Come on.” You looked at him and started to stand up. His image started to blur and suddenly you couldn’t feel anything anymore. Everything blackened and when you finally opened your eyes, you were on the floor with Wooyoung looking on with extreme worry in his face. When he saw you open your eyes relief spread through his face.

“Oh god Ji-min. Did you eat anything at all today?” You thought of the ruined meal on the floor and sadly shook your head. Wooyoung almost cursed at hearing that.

“Ji-min! You can’t work your body that hard without any food! Do you know how bad that is?” Seeing that he wasn’t going to get any reply from you, he picked up the bags and took one look at you on the floor before he bent down and pulled you into his arms. When he stood up, you shrieked and looked at him with wide eyes.

“Put me down. Put me down now before you break you back!” You screeched out. This time though, it was Wooyoung’s turn to ignore you. He walked to his car and placed you on the passenger seat. Closing your door, he went to the trunk and tossed his and your bag in. Once he slammed it shut, he went to his side and got in, starting the car immediately.

“I’m taking you to go eat something.” And with that, he pulled out of the driveway and started to drive to who know where. It was silent throughout the whole car ride and you were surprised that it wasn’t uncomfortable at all. But every tiny move that you made hurt. Even breathing agitated your overused muscles.

A minute more and you felt him stop the car. Looking at where he was, you couldn’t help but smile lightly. It was the same restaurant the Shinee boys treated you to a meal the first time they meet you.

“Do you think you can walk by yourself or do you want me to carry you?” Wooyoung asked seriously. Staring in horror at him having to do that again, you quickly opened the door and stepped out. Your body protested the whole act and you had to lean on the car a bit to get your balance, but you managed the task. Walking to the restaurant, Wooyoung followed you with a small smile on his face.

------------------------

After putting the last bite in your mouth, you groaned in satisfaction. It felt great to finally have something in your stomach again. Taking huge gulps of your water, you leaned back and sighed.

Wooyoung had a huge smile on his face the whole time, but once you finished, the smile slowly disappeared and a more serious face appeared.

“Now I would like to know what’s wrong. Don’t try to lie to me and say that nothing is.” Sitting up suddenly at his question you looked at him with wide eyes.

“Nothing is wrong. Don’t worry about it. It’s something I can handle.”

Wooyoung glared at you at the answer. “Oh yeah because over exerting yourself and passing out is definitely my definition of being able to handle things.” He said sarcasticly. You decided not to answer and just look out of the window. The moon was up and you were staring at it with a sense of wonder. You always did like the moon.

Seeing that you weren’t going to say anything, his expression softened and he sighed. “Ji-min. We’re friends right?” You looked at him and smiled a little. Nodding your head, you watched a smile appear on his face.

“I care deeply about my friends. I don’t like not doing anything when I know that something is wrong with them.”

Biting your lips, you looked at his concerned face. You have never told anyone about this, never confessed at all about all the pain and suffering you go through each day at school. You felt like no one would care at all.

Taking another glance at his concerned look, you took a deep breath. “Have you ever been bullied before?”

-----------------------

“Hahaha! I definitely won that round!” Key said as they all enter their favorite restaurant. It was just by the park where they first meet Ji-min.

“Ah stop trying to fool yourself Key! Minho clearly won.” Jonghyun said with a small smile. Key frowned at Jonghyun and was about to say something when he spotted someone who looked like Ji-min.

Looking closer his eyes widened when he saw that it was her. He smiled brightly, “Look guys it’s Ji-min!” he said to the others. Everyone looked at where he was looking and they were pleasantly surprised to see her. They were about to go up to her until they noticed the man she was with.

Taemin frowned and looked on with distrust at the guy. “Who is that?” The smiles on all of their faces all disappeared at seeing the guy with her.

Then they saw the tears falling down on Ji-min’s face and her shoulder’s shaking as she sobbed.

“The hell! Is he making her cry?” Taemin’s face scrunched up in anger at the mere thought that the guy was making his sweet Ji-min cry. When anger appeared on that guys face and they saw him punch the table, they all menacingly walked to the table. It seemed as if only one thought was going through their minds.

‘Kill the guy who is making Ji-min cry.’
