- ne, okaa-san ~ 

Maki who was washing up the dishes while listening to the radio's music looked at the little boy who called her. 

- Hmm ? 

Tomoki who sat on the couch's arm stood up and took careful steps to his mother. 

- Today at school we talked about our parents. 

- Oh really, how was it ? 

Baka baka baka Maki, why did you say that ? 

- Ano.... sensei asked how were our parents... 

-...

She stayed silent. What can she say after all ? It was just a matter of facts that she was a single mother. Without any daddy for her son.  She tightened the grip on the plate she was holding. A painful feeling came all over again. Stabbing her chest. 

- Tomoki, please go on... 

- I was scolded by sensei, because she asked about our two parents. And I... I don't know about my.. my.. daddy !

Little kid's tears were streaming down Tomoki's figure.

- No Tomoki ! 

Maki rushed to her son and took him in, swaying him in her arms.

- Please, please don't cry my son, my little love ! 

I knew it ! It had to happen one day. Oh god, what am I supposed to do now, Tomohisa ? Why aren't you here with me anymore ? You could have helped me !  Helped our son. 

Tears also appeared in Maki's full cheeks. She knew damn well that it had to happen. A little child can't live happily with a daddy missing. Tomoki should have his two parents with him, everyday, for him to grow up well. Fot the two parents to watch their son grow up well and be healthy is the greatest present. 

And Tomoki indeed grew up well, but how can Maki live it happily and make him feel at ease when her dad is not there with them ? Hopefully she isn't alone in the process of educating him.  Her friends and especially Nishikido Ryo were always there for her, helping her when she had to do long work at Sweet Power. They would care of him well.

But never did they talked about why she was lonely, without husband. The only person to be aware of that is of course Ryo, the best friend of the kid's dad.  Sometimes Maki would ask him how Tomohisa is doing, but it would always end up by her crying. 

And it was even more painful to watch Tomoki growing well everyday, the more he grows, the more he reminds her of his dad. 

Tomohisa...

- Oka-san, you know.. I have a .. a dream ! he poured into her arms.

- Hontou ? she whimpered.

Tomoki nodded.

- Tell me about it ne ? 

- I want to meet Daddy ! he cried out.

Maki redressed her son in her lap and wipped his and her tears away. She sniffed and ran her hand softly in his hair. She have to explain him things. How to explain things to a little kid of just five years ? 

Oh damn this is hard ! 

She prepared herself mentally and started. 

- You know Tomoki.. there are children that can't really know about their two parents, because.. because there some facts in their parents life that they don't know about.. Some things that happened between the mom and the dad that child can't change. And it causes them to drift apart, and they don't see each other anymore.. and.. and the child, he has to do with it .. Wakateru ka ? she carefully said, choosing her words not to hurt her son.

Tomoki took his mom's face in his little hands and wipped the tears away, while explaining she cried again. It was hard just so hard, maybe the little boy didn't even understand what she was trying to say. It was just too confuse yet in her mind. All blurry. 

She suddenly remembered the last day. Where the fight they had, separated them untill now. 

*flashback*

- ne Tomo...

- Makinpo?

Maki clasped her hands together on the slight big belly she had.  

- I'm pregnant.. 

Tomohisa jerked from their shared bed. 

- Stop kidding will you ~ It's time to sleep already tomorrow it's work ! 

Hearing that from her soon-to-be husband Maki sighed by anger. 

- It is not a joke Yamapi. I am pregnant ! she shouted.

Tomohisa had catched the change of tone in her voice and his body stiffed when he heard her being serious. 

- Ma..maki...

The young actress lowered her head and tightened her hands on the hem of her babydoll. Tomohisa redressed in the bed and sighed in sudden confusion. He tugged at her chin to make her look up. But she lowered her head even more. 

- Maki look at me

- Tomohisa, I know what you're going to say already.. But please before you do let me tell you that I hae intention on keeping the baby. I'm not going to abort it. Ever.. you heard me ? 

As listening to his soon-to-be wife his eyes grew bigger, this was not good at all.

- Yamapi ? 

- You can't do that Marina, what would we do then ? What about the secret ? Are you ready to reveal everything ? And destroy our career like that ? 

- I so knew you were gonna say that ! Don't give me those words Tomohisa ! the anger was rising within her. 

- And what do you expect from me ? That I will quit everything ? Everything that I was able to accomplish till here ? 

Maki shook her head in disbelief. 

- You don't understand at all ! You just talk about work.. and.. and career but what I'm talking about now Tomo is our own life, our child, our future together as a family. Don't you understand what having a baby is ? Is the start of a new life ! A NEW ! And I don't care about our stupid Agencies that just want to have money by using us. I just want to live happily... with you.. and.. the baby...

A heavy silence took place in the bedroom. Tomohisa was in awe. What did Maki just say ? That she wanted all those things with him.. A happy family and don't care about work. Will he be able to take all these responsability ? The truth is that he couldn't just quit work and rush headlong to a future he wasn't even sure. And if ever a quitted work he would so regret it after.. So the best for him to do was to stop all this. When he heard Maki sudden sob he looked at her painfully.. 

I'm sorry dear... 

- Maki.. Gomen ne... I... I'm not confident enough.. Maybe it's true, I talk alot about work. But it's because it was my dream to be part of Johnny's Entertainment. And I have a lot of memories from there.. It's been long I work there.. You know.. and I know it's gonna hurt you.. I'm truly sorry... I can't fulfill all this ! 

Maki's tears increased when hearing the one she love's saying those painful words. That night everything has changed between the two, Maki understood that he wasn't thinking the same as her.. Their point of view about the future were different. 

She stood up from their once shared bed and headed towards the wardrobe. She took out her luggages and harshly threw her clothes out. 

- Marina ? said Tomohisa worriedly. 

She then headed towards the bathroom and picked her things in a rush. Tomohisa who followed her widened his eyes. 

- What are you doing ? Maki ! he grabbed her by the arm. 

- Let me go ! I know already that you don't love me anymore, you don't look at me, you didn't even noticed how big my belly grew this few days ! she shouted on more. And you know what ? 

Maki hung her left hand up, took out the wedding ring and threw it over. 

- You can keep it... she headed towards the front door, carrying her bags. Just enjoy your life Yamapi... 

And she shut the door right in his face.
