Little Quirks

Description

Park ChanYeol was a genius novelist. With numerous awards and praise from the harshest of critics, there were very few who could deny the man's skills with words. However, despite his mastership as an author, there lied an incredibly eccentric character.

Yoo MiKyung, the man's editor, was one of the few people to witness this side of ChanYeol. It wasn't just a matter of overflowing wastebaskets or dirty laundry piling up in the corner. It was more of lemon wedges neatly lined up on the seat of the toilet and socks carefully attached to the computer screen by use of clothespins. In addition, ChanYeol never met his deadlines, and when given more time (he begged for it), the man ended up watching dramas immediately after. It had gotten to the point where MiKyung was grateful to see sneakers in the refrigerator instead of finding the carcass of a lizard dressed in origami clothes between the pages of ChanYeol's manuscripts.

Some days were just less painful than others.

Foreword

“…He collects doorknobs?”

“He changes them out when he needs to change the lock on the door.”

“…And he changes the lock?”

“Every deadline.  He likes to make it harder for me to get into his apartment,” MiKyung explained dully, a grimace etched onto her face.

Park ChanYeol was not, by any definition, a normal person.

Author's Note

While taking the SAT, I came up with a plot, and well, this is it. I planned all the aspects of the characters--how they look, their living conditions, likes/dislikes, habits, even random things like how many siblings they have. I wrote it all down, too. (Don't worry, I double-checked my answers before all that.) I want my test booklet back...

As I wrote this, I became very attached to the characters I created. I sort of wish they existed in real life, haha. It's going to be a crazy story--I just know it. The things I come up with... I'm a little sad it's only going to be a short story. But if it were a normal-length story, I think the plot would've been dragged out too much. Anyway, please read on, and I hope you enjoy it~

Chapter 7: Ah, the nostalgia! I remember subscribing to this story when it only had about two or three chapters. And today I just had to read it again. It's such a joy to read it, lighthearted and fluffy and a bit of humor to top it off. I just wanted to let you know I'm frequently re-reading this story, because you did such a good job on it! Thank you for the smile you brought to my face <3
