Korean Romanizations
Writing Tips 101 - The Do's and Don't That Everyone Should FollowAhahaha, don't you love it when people try to use Korean to seem smart/educated/trick people into believing their great writers?
I find no humor in any of the fanfic stated above.
Honestly, omfg, as a Korean, I find it horrifying when authors just randomly decide to use Korean romanization (usually incorrect or incredibly innaccurate) words in their fanfics. Why would someone insist on writing a story that goes along the lines of, "Oppa, na neun neo reul jjinjaru yeppudago sangakhanda!"
Did any of you understand this atrocity? I didn't and I ing typed it up.
So, when I see a romanized story that's half ing Korean, I just can't take it.
Especially when you have a good moment, the minute you use "saranghae[yo]" in a confession scene makes the whole mood shatter and your story seem stupid. So avoid it at all costs. Just type in ing English. IF you want to use Korean, just type it in actual hangul instead of romanization.
I will later tell you people the wrong use of romanizated Korean if you intend to use it/the cultural aspects of Korea that most fanfic writers seem to ignore/don't know about.
HOWEVER Using Oppa, unnie, stuff like that that even I use in fanfics is totally fine.
