Chapter Four

As The Dominoes Fall

CHAPTER FOUR

“Goo Hara!”

The scream of her name echoes through the corridor.

She stuck her head out from the make-up room, shifting her head back and forth to see where the direction of her name was coming from. Unsure where it was coming from she went back in to the room and continues grabbing all the equipment she needed as quickly as she could. She took a quick glimpse at the watch on her wrist. Her eyes widen at what time it was, she only has another two minutes before the shoot begins and she has yet to get everything ready. She begins to rush even more so than she had already been rushing. She closes the make-up box securely and grabs the handle and made her way out of the door.

“Goo Hara!”

Another scream of her name echoes the corridor. She looks around the corridor to see where it could be coming from.

“Goo Hara!”

She was getting annoyed at not being able to pinpoint where it was coming from.

“Goo...”

“I’m coming!” She shouts back before another repeat of her name could be heard.

Though she didn’t know where it was coming from or who was calling for her, but she couldn’t care less at this point she just needed to get the make-up kit she had with her on set for the shoot right away.

She rushes down the corridor towards a big silver door. She stops in front of the door, catching her breathe as she recollected herself before slowly and quietly opening the door. She slips in quietly, trying her best to be unnoticed. Success!

She scans the room to find who she needed to find. The room was dark. The only light that can be seen was at the centre of the room with the main model under the spotlight. The shoot had begun. Her face scrounged up at the embarrassment of being late for the shoot. She continues to look around the room to find who she was looking for. She needed to find the stylist that asked her to run the errand of getting the make-up for her.

She found the stylist and quietly walks up to her and taps her on the shoulder gently. Everyone in the room was concentrating on the shoot happening at the centre of the room. The stylist turns around to see her smiling sheepishly with the make-up case in her hand. The stylist rolls her eyes at her.

“Sorry unni, but I got everything you needed.” Hara apologized as she held out the make-up case with both hands.

The stylist grabs the case and walks over to the make-up station and place the case down.

“Try to be more urgent next time.” The stylist lectures Hara.

“I’m sorry unni. I’ll try harder next time.” Hara apologizes again as she bows deeply to the stylist.

The stylist let out a disappointed sigh, “that’s fine, the shoot is going on now so just stay here and be quiet.”

Hara bows again and did as she was told. She let out an exasperated sigh, at least she gets to stay and watch the shoot. Though her aspiration is to become a top model and get her foot in to the door that is the entertainment business, it is still hard especially when you’re just starting off. Doing the miscellaneous and sometimes tedious errands is just part of the job when you are just starting off. She doesn’t mind, as long as she gets to learn as much as she can.

She stood there by the make-up station observing the model on the shoot, she was trying to learn and get as much as she can from what she sees. The movements, the expressions, the techniques, she was trying to take in as much as she could. She even sometimes catches herself imitating what the model does.

After an hour or so has passed the shoot finally took a break as the model needed to get an outfit change and the crew began setting up for the next concept.

“Hara, bring me the make-up kit.” The stylist ordered.

Hara quickly grabs the kit and rushes over to the stylist. The model was getting her outfit changed as the stylist begins putting on the model’s make-up for the next concept. Hara stood there quietly, observing everything that was being done. Hara was staring intently at the model as people around her were priming her up and down.

“Interesting huh?” The model spoke as she noticed Hara staring.

Hara woke from her stare, “huh? Sorry?” She manages to utter.

The model chuckles at Hara’s reaction, "it’s not as fun as it looks.”

Hara giggles at the model’s statement. “Everyone glamorizing you, it does look great though.”

The model laughs at Hara’s observation, “I guess you can take it as that, but trust me I’m in a position in which I can’t even move. I’m basically a mannequin for them to play with. Right unni?” She glances over at the stylists working on her.

All the stylists chuckles along at the comment. Hara couldn’t help but join in.

“The set is ready, let’s get moving people.” The photographer shouted on the set.

“Thanks unni.” The model steps away from the stylists, she stops and glances over at Hara, "you have potential to be a model, but I highly recommend you to reconsider before being in my position. The best advice I can give you is it’s not as glamorous as it looks.” A sweet smile appears on the model’s face before she steps back on to the set.

Hara nodded in understanding, “thank you.” She bows.

Hara stood by the entrance once again as she watches the proceeding of the shoot. She stood there in thought as she begins to think about the advice the model had given her. She let out a sigh, it might have been some quality advice, but in her heart and mind it has been made up long ago that this is what she wanted to do; to become a top model and eventually a top entertainer in the entertainment industry.

“Goo Hara!”

The screaming of her name woke her from her thoughts.

Again? She thought. Who could still be screaming for her when she’s already here at the shoot?

“Goo Hara!”

The screaming was getting louder as she could hear it coming through the entrance door. Before it becomes a big scene and her embarrassing herself she quickly slips out the door and in to the corridors to see who it was that has been screaming for her all this time.

She made her way down the corridor, looking around to see who it was that was calling for her. She stops in her tracks to see the person calling for her. She rolls her eyes at who it was.

“Goo...” Another scream of her name was about to be announced until the person saw her standing in vision. A satisfy smile crept on the person’s face. “You know I’ve been looking for you all over the place?”

“Yeah, I could tell,” she rolls her eyes once more, “what do you want ChangSun? I thought I told you to not bother me while I’m working.” She pulls him aside in to an empty room.

“Yah, you said you would take me with you when you work on a shoot.”

“Don’t you need to train back at the agency? Why should I take you away from that?” She challenges him with a raised eyebrow.

“Well you can when there’s a y model involved.” He quips with a mischievous smirk on his face.

Hara rolls her eyes again at his comment, “seriously ChangSun, I’m trying to learn as much as I can on these types of jobs so I would really appreciate it if you don’t ruin it for me.”

She felt defeated with any reasoning with him as she made her exit from the room. He smiles at her reaction and quickly steps beside her and places his arm over her shoulder.

“You know I make your life full of excitement. Without me you would not enjoy one bit of this training process of ours.” He teases her as she shook his arm off her shoulders.

“How did you get out of training today anyway?”

He chuckles at the thought, “I’m going to the washroom right now. I have a really bad stomach-ache.” He winks at her.

Hara let out a light chuckle, “one of these days you’re gonna get yourself in to a lot of trouble ChangSun. You better be careful before you get another scolding from the president.”

“You don’t need to worry about that. I’m one of his favourites, I can basically get away with anything at this point. Besides,” he does a suave twirl and stood in front of Hara with his charming smile, “I’m his number one star. I’m a natural born talent, no need for those training sessions.”

Hara shoves him lightly to the side, “well excuse me superstar, some of us aren’t as naturally gifted as you are, the rest of us still needs to gain experience. So if you can kindly let me get back to my work I would really appreciate it.”

Hara made her way back towards the studio where the photo-shoot was still taking place.

“Goo Hara!”

He shouted her name once more.

She cringes at her name being shouted by him. She hesitantly turns back towards his direction to see him still standing there with a wide smile on his face.

“What?!” She glares at him as she mutters through her gritted teeth.

“You don’t need to worry much about anything. You’re gonna be a big star!” He assures her as-a-matter-of-factly, “I’ll bet my life on it. You’re gonna be a great star!”

His assuring statements melts her annoyance of him away as her face loosens and a smile appears, a pleasing sigh can be heard as she chuckles at the goofy smile that was still on his face.

“Thank you oppa.”

He didn’t reply, but his action answered it all. He made a thumb up gesture with a wide smile on his face towards her.

She giggles at his action before turning back towards the studio.

“Goo Hara jjang! Goo Hara saranghae!” He shouted before running off.

Hara stood still at what she had heard him shout. She turns back around to confront him but he was gone, ran off like he usually did. The sudden vibration of her phone woke her from her stupor.

“Hello?” She answers.

“Finally! I’ve been trying to reach you this whole entire week. Where have you been?” SeoHyun’s voice could be heard from the other line.

Hara chuckles at SeoHyun’s attempt to sound annoyed, it never really works, it just turns out being cute, “sorry SeoHyun, I’ve been busy with work. What is it?”

“We’re planning a surprise party for YongJoo, for her birthday and a farewell type of party before she leaves abroad.” SeoHyun begins to explain.

“That’s sound great, you need help? What can I help with?” Hare enthusiastically offers.

SeoHyun’s chuckle could be heard, “you can help me by showing up.”

Hara chuckles along, “sorry, I was away for work so I couldn’t help much.”

“Don’t worry about it. If anything come early on the day of and help me set up. I’ll text you all the information after.”

=====

As promised, Hara showed up early the day of the party and helped SeoHyun and HyungSik set up for the party.

“You guys really went all out for this.” Hara commented as she helps them set up the decoration.

“Her brother was the one that got us this place.” HyungSik assured, giving credit where it was due.

“He also got a lot of things ready for us. Basically he got us everything that we needed to make this party a success. We wanted to make sure that YongJoo has only good memories before she leaves for her studies abroad.” SeoHyun added with a laugh.

“She better remember this, especially with everything that you guys are doing.” Hara laughs along.

“So how is work coming along for you Hara? You must be really busy? I mean I couldn’t reach you during the whole week.” SeoHyun was curious to know how her friend is doing in the harsh entertainment world.

Hara let out a sigh as she ties the balloons and handed them to HyungSik who was standing on a ladder concentrating on putting up the streamers.

“It seriously is tiring, I was flying everywhere. My agency partnered me up with one of our top stylists in the agency and she gets calls for every big shoot possible. So of course I would have to follow along and assist her.”

“Sounds like you’re her assistant more than a trainee for the agency.” HyungSik chimes in with his two cents.

Hara glances up at him, she shook the ladder jokingly, “thanks HyungSik, how supportive of you.”

HyungSik didn’t reply as he tried to hide his smirk.

SeoHyun lightheartedly laughs at his comment, “is that part of your training though? Do models even need training?” She was curious.

“Not necessarily, but my agency said I should know how everything works to truly appreciate and understand what truly goes in to becoming a top model. And I agree, learning what goes on behind the scenes will definitely make me a better model and entertainer in the long run.”

“So you want to be more than just a model?” HyungSik wondered as he made his way down the ladder.

“I would like to, I mean modeling can only get me so far. I want to think more long term than just a couple of years.” Hara answers confidently.

“Well you’ll have us here routing for you. We’ll establish your fan club and promote you like no other.” SeoHyun offers enthusiastically.

Hara couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought, “thanks SeoHyun, I would appreciate that a lot.”

“And who knows, where-ever YongJoo end up going she can promote you there too. You’ll have an international advantage.” SeoHyun giggles at her own idea.

“That’s not a bad idea.” Hara mused at the thought.

The hours passed as the three of them continues the set up for the party. The caterers had arrived and began setting up their stations. The entertainment for the night had arrived as well. Soon enough everything had been set up and it was only a matter of time before the party will begin and the guest of honor was to arrive.

All three of them got changed to their party outfits as they greeted the guests that had already begun to enter. Their classmates arrived to the party dressed to their most fashionable self. SeoHyun and HyungSik greeted them as Hara helped with some of the last minute set-ups. As the guest entered they were directed to a book on the table where the presents were to be placed, they were asked to sign their name and write something for YongJoo for her to remember tonight with.

Hara came up to the two standing by the entrance greeting their classmates that were coming in and glance over at her watch, “when was she suppose to come?”

SeoHyun began to worry as well. She glance over to the room full of their classmates and at the clock on the wall, it was a bit over twenty minutes since YongJoo was suppose to be there. “I don’t know what’s taking her so long. YongHwa was supposed to bring her over.”

“You want to give him a call and double check? You think he could be stuck at work and wasn’t able to pick her up?” Hara pondered.

“If he was he would’ve called and let us know,” SeoHyun reasons. She turns to HyungSik, “you think you can go and pick her up just in case?”

HyungSik nodded, he was ready. As he was making his way towards the entrance he stops and bows.

SeoHyun and Hara turned towards the direction HyungSik had bowed, they bowed as well when they saw who it was.

“JunHyung oppa, SooHyun oppa.” SeoHyun greeted them respectfully.

“Hey guys, how’s the party going?” JunHyung greeted them.

SeoHyun looks at them worriedly, “we’re still waiting for YongHwa oppa and YongJoo.”

“They’re not here yet? We just talked to YongHwa about an hour ago. He said he was on his way to pick YongJoo up.” SooHyun assures.

“Maybe I should call them and double check to see if they are ok.” SeoHyun quickly took out her cell phone and began to dial.

There was no answer.

“Anything?” Hara asked SeoHyun worriedly.

SeoHyun shook her head and tried dialing again. She continuously dialed both YongHwa and YongJoo’s number.

“That’s really strange, YongHwa called us and told us to be here. Why would he come late?” JunHyung begins to question.

“I’m gonna go over to their house and see what happened.” HyungSik spoke up as he rushes over towards his bike. He sped off. The thought of something terrible happening to YongJoo frightens him.

SeoHyun, JunHyung, and SooHyun continued to try to see if they could reach either YongJoo or YongHwa through their phones. Hara had walked back in to the party room to make sure that everything was going smoothly, she didn’t want any of the guests to be alarmed or concern with something she herself didn’t know.

Hara walks back to the front entrance to see the three still trying to get a hold of their missing guests.

“No luck?” Hara asks as she stood beside SeoHyun.

SeoHyun turns to Hara and shook her head with a worried expression.

SeoHyun’s phone begins to ring and saw it was HyungSik calling, “hello?” Her voice was full of urgency.

“SeoHyun, they’re not at home. YongHwa hyung’s car is not here either. I asked their maid, she said YongHwa came and picked up YongJoo about two hours ago.” HyungSik replies.

“Did you see them on your way there?” SeoHyun questioned.

“No.” HyungSik answers, “I’m gonna head back and see what we can do.”

The two hung up.

“Anything?” Hara asked again.

“Their maid said they left the house two hours ago.” SeoHyun answers worriedly.

“Then what’s taking them so long to get here?” SooHyun queried.

“I hope nothing bad happened to them.” Hara had a worried and nervous expression on her face.

“They should at least call us.” SeoHyun added.

“There’s no point in standing out here and waiting for them. You girls should go back in and check on the party and guests. SooHyun and I will go and look for them.” JunHyung suggests.

SeoHyun and Hara turn their attention towards him and he gives them a reassuring smile. The two girls nodded hesitantly and begin to make their way inside.

“Who is he?” Hara asked SeoHyun as they made their way towards the party.

“JunHyung oppa, and the other guy is SooHyun oppa. They’re YongHwa oppa’s best friends.” SeoHyun answers.

Hara nodded. The two girls stopped when they heard the ringing of SeoHyun’s cell phone. SeoHyun looks at her caller display, it was an unknown number. She quickly picks it up.

“Hello?” She answers with urgency.

No answer, all SeoHyun could hear was muffling.

“Hello?” She repeated herself.

No answer.

Hara, JunHyung, and SooHyun were now standing beside SeoHyun trying to see if it was YongJoo or YongHwa calling.

“Hello?” SeoHyun repeated again with more urgency.

More muffling could be heard on the other end.

“YongJoo? YongHwa oppa? Is it one of you guys?” SeoHyun questions urgently.

“SeoHyun...” Sniffling could be heard through the cracking of the voice.

“YongJoo? Is that you? Are you alright?”

Hara, JunHyung and SooHyun listens intently.

“SeoHyun-ah...” More sniffling could be heard.

“YongJoo-ah, where are you? We’ll come find you.” SeoHyun was more urgent than ever.

“SeoHyun...I’m in...I’m in the hospital...there was...there was an accident...” YongJoo’s voice begins to crack.

“Acc...accident?” SeoHyun repeated.

Hara, JunHyung and SooHyun’s eyes widens.

“Which hospital are you at? We’ll be right over.” SeoHyun requested with urgency. “Ok, we’ll be right over.” SeoHyun turns towards JunHyung and SooHyun, “can you take us?”

“Of course,” SooHyun answers without hesitation, as if that was even a question, “but what about the party and the guests?”

“SeoHyun, you go on first, I’ll take care of things here and I’ll meet up with you guys,” Hara volunteers.

“I’ll stay here to help and drive her over,” JunHyung willingly volunteers.

“Thank you.” SeoHyun thanked the two of them as the pair separated in different directions.

SeoHyun got in to SooHyun’s car and begins to dial HyungSik’s number. The moment he picked up she informed him of the situation and told him to meet them at the hospital. SooHyun sped off.

***

SeoHyun came rushing in to the hospital frantically searching for any sight of YongJoo. SooHyun follows quickly behind searching around as well.

“Excuse me but did Jung YongJoo or Jung YongHwa get admitted in here?” SooHyun asked the receptionist seeing SeoHyun frantically looking around for her friend.

The nurse flips through her papers of admitted patients, “they’re currently in the operating room.”

SeoHyun stops her frantic search when she heard ‘operating room’. She turns her attention to the front desk and rushes over to SooHyun, “operation?!”

“How long has it been?” SooHyun asks.

“Over an hour already,” the nurse stops and looks at them, “who are you to the patients?”

“We’re their friends.” SooHyun replies.

“YongJoo was the one that called me and told me that she was here.” SeoHyun informs.

The nurse walks around the counter and gestures them to follow her. She led them down the long corridor and up a flight of stairs before stopping in front of a door. SooHyun and SeoHyun glance over at the name on the door, trauma ward. Their eyes widens at the sign.

“The patient Jung YongJoo was bought here after she made a phone, I guess that was to you,” she turns and glance over at SeoHyun. SeoHyun nodded in understanding, "she’s a bit fragile right now so we placed her here for the time being for precaution. She’s right over there.” The nurse points over to a young girl sitting on a bed in the corner alone with her head hung low.

SeoHyun quickly rushes over.

“Thank you.” SooHyun bows to the nurse, “Oh, may I ask about the other patient Jung YongHwa?”

“He’s still in the operating room,” the nurse glances over to YongJoo, “she was really broken down when we told her that he was still in the operating room. That’s why we brought her in here.”

SooHyun nodded in understanding, “thank you. Oh, and if you don’t mind there will be a few other people coming in and asking about these patients, please just let them know to come up here.”

The nurse bows to him and made her exit.

“Thank you again.” SooHyun bows.

SeoHyun stood by the side of the bed, keeping her distance as to not give YongJoo a shock. SooHyun stood behind SeoHyun as he observes YongJoo.

“YongJoo-ah,” SeoHyun’s voice quivers with fright seeing her best friend in such a state.

YongJoo slowly lifts up her. SeoHyun bit her quivering lips at the sight of YongJoo. SooHyun felt his heart constrict at the state that YongJoo was in.

YongJoo’s eyes were swollen and red from the continuous crying she had been doing. The make-up on her face had faded and dripped down her cheeks. The tears were still flowing as she looked at them with such sorrow. Her hair was disheveled and unkempt. Her head was bandaged up but the blood was still bleeding through. There were scars and scraps on her face, bandages were placed to control the bleeding. She had her evening dress on but pieces were ripped off and torn. There were bandages on her arms and legs. Bruises can be seen on the parts of her body that were bare. She was not in the condition for a surprise party.

SeoHyun places her hand over to control her crying.

“SeoHyun-ah,” a low whisper can be heard from YongJoo.

“YongJoo-ah,” SeoHyun responded through her sobs as she made her way over to the bed and sat gently by YongJoo’s side.

“YongJoo, what happened?” SooHyun asked, trying his best to control his own tears with seeing her in such a condition.

YongJoo slowly glances up at him as SeoHyun gently wraps her arms around her to comfort her with a hug. The tears began to flow as she begins to think about what happened.

“YongJoo, would you hurry up please. We need to leave now.” YongHwa shouted to her as he stood at the front door waiting for her.

“I’m coming, I’m coming.” She shouted back as she made her way down the stairs while trying to put on her heels.

“You’re gonna be late for your own party.” YongHwa teased.

“I wouldn’t be if you didn’t tell me to go change like a hundred times.” She rolls her eyes at him.

He chuckles at her comment, “for what that’s worth, you look great.”

She smiles at his compliment, “thanks oppa.” She scans him up and down, “you don’t look too bad yourself. You clean up well,” she teases.

“I’m in a suit all day, what’s so new about it.”

“True,” she chuckles at her own realization.

“Come on,” he offers his hand for her in a gentlemanly manner.

She took his hand with a smile and they took a few steps before she stops. YongHwa turns to her to see what was wrong.

“Oppa, do you mind taking me somewhere before we go to the party?”

“I usually wouldn’t drive you around anywhere you asked to go, but since it’s your birthday and all I guess I can break the rule this once.” He teases.

She rolls her eyes at his stupid joke, “thanks.” She replies sarcastically.

They drove up to a familiar park. YongJoo got out of the car and ran straight up to the high point of the hills. She stood there as she gazed out at the beautiful scenery in front of her. It was a view of the city.

YongHwa came up from behind her, a bit out of breathe from the climb, “you come here every year on your birthday, don’t you get tired of it?”

She turns to him with her innocent smile, “nope. And you know why?”

YongHwa shook his head. But he was curious to know, after all these years he still had no idea why she comes here and only on her birthday.

She took in a deep breath, enjoying the air surrounding the park, “I get to spend it with my parents.”

YongHwa finally understood. “YongJoo,” he utters softly.

She turns to him and smiles once more as a single tear dripped down her cheek, “I love our parents too, but on a day like this, it’s good to know I’m with my real parents. As much as I could remember, they would always take me here on my birthday and have a picnic here while watching the sunset.”

“We can still do that. I can call SeoHyun and tell her we’ll be late for the party if you want to spend a little more time here.”

She shook her head with a smile, “it’s ok oppa, I know how much it took SeoHyun and HyungSik to plan this for me, I wouldn’t want to ruin it for them. Just as long as I got the chance to come here for bit then it’s all good.” She flashes her famous eye-smile at him to assure him she was perfectly fine.

She runs off to a nearby push and picks out a bouquet of wild flowers. She holds them up to the sky, “omma, appa! Thank you for being here with me on my birthday. Your baby girl is eighteen now!” She shouted up to the sky as tears flowed down her face.

YongHwa steps up beside her and took out his handkerchief and gently wipes away the tears on her cheeks. She lowers her head, feeling a bit embarrassed at what she just did.

YongHwa lifts his head up to the sky, “thank you for giving me such a sweet, innocent, but annoying at times, and ugly sister!” He shouted along.

YongJoo punches him in his arm at what she heard him shout, but she couldn’t help but laugh at his attempt to cheer her up. He always knew what to do to make her feel better.

He chuckles at her punch, “ready to head over to the party?”

She nodded, still wiping away the tears that had fallen.

“I didn’t know what happened but as we drove to the party a car suddenly came out of nowhere and begins to high beam us from behind. Oppa, signals for them to go around but they weren’t listening. The high beam was blinding oppa so without realizing it a car had came from the left side and collided with us,” YongJoo paused her explanation as she looks up at SooHyun with sorrowful and guilty eyes, “he threw himself over me to protect me.” The moment she spoke those last few words she broke down and begins to cry again.

SeoHyun felt YongJoo’s shivering body as she tries her best to hold on to her tighter to comfort her.

“YongJoo-ah,” SeoHyun begins to rub YongJoo’s back, trying her best to hold on to her own tears. Hearing what happened to YongHwa made her heart ached.

SooHyun’s hands clenches up in to fists after hearing what had happened. He was angered by the drivers that were in those cars. The accident could have been easily avoided if those drivers were driving properly.

“YongJoo,” HyungSik’s panting voice could be heard as he quietly enters the room.

SeoHyun and SooHyun turn their attention to him as he made his way over to YongJoo’s bed. His lip begins to quiver seeing the condition that YongJoo was in. Tears begin to drip down his cheek as he kneels down beside her bed.

“YongJoo-ah, are you alright?” He utters through his sob as he gently places his hand on hers’ to comfort her.

YongJoo didn’t move from her position in SeoHyun’s hold, she felt HyungSik’s gentle, warm touch as she places her other hand over his to assure him she appreciated his warmth.

SooHyun took a deep breath. He couldn’t stand seeing YongJoo like this anymore. He made his exit from the room as he took a seat outside the room. He palms his face as he release a deep sigh of frustration.

JunHyung and Hara came running in when they noticed SooHyun sitting outside the room.

“SooHyun,” JunHyung calls out to him as the two ran up to him. SooHyun stood up to greet them. “How are they?” JunHyung inquires.

SooHyun let out a sigh, “YongHwa is still in the operating room and YongJoo’s inside the room. She’s not in the best emotional state right now.”

The moment Hara heard she quickly ran in to the room.

“So what happened? How did this whole thing happen?” JunHyung asked through bated breath.

“It was a car accident. From what YongJoo had told us, another car collided with theirs on their way to the party.”

JunHyung ran his hand through his hair with frustration, “so what’s going to happen now? Do they know who the other driver is?”

“I haven’t heard anything yet but I don’t really care. I just want to concentrate on YongJoo and YongHwa right now.”

The two sat back down on the bench, “so, all we can do is wait for YongHwa to come out of the operating room?” JunHyung asks.

SooHyun nodded, “that and watch over YongJoo to make sure she’ll be ok for the time being.”

JunHyung let out a sigh of frustration, he felt sorry for what happened to both YongJoo and YongHwa but there was nothing he or SooHyun can do right now. He felt completely helpless.

“Have their parents been informed?” JunHyung asks.

“No, I don’t think so.”

“I’m gonna go and call them to let them know. They should at least be here to comfort them.”

SooHyun nodded and JunHyung walks off to make the phone call.

SooHyun sat there looking through the mirror window of the room. SeoHyun, HyungSik, and now Hara were all there trying their best to comfort YongJoo.

He just didn’t know why but ever since he met her years back, he had this need to want to protect her in any way possible, especially ever since YongHwa told him her story. He developed feelings for her far beyond that of a brother/sister relationship and when he knew she had feelings for him too he knew that he should do all he can to protect her and be there for her. Though he wanted to develop their relationship in to something more, he had to respect his friend YongHwa’s request. So he could only protect her from afar, like how a brother would watch over his little sister. But after this whole event, he felt like he has failed her, failed to fulfill his duties.

“YongJoo... I’m so sorry...” He utters, his tone fill with sorrow and guilt.

If only he knew that those words he spoke would have a more consequential impact as his relationship with YongJoo continues.
