ETERNITY
I'm really sorry for putting this story on hiatus. My personal life has gotten to me plus a major writer's block. Although I had so many scenes running through my head for this chapter. It kept changing multiple times as to what I wanted you guys to see. So here is my continuation after what like 14 months? I'm so ashamed of myself. *hides face and ducks underneath the desk* This chapter is lengthy and not much action yet in this chapter but I promise you on the next chapter is where the action begins. I have already started on Chapter 18 but still in the process of trying to type out the action scenes. In the back of Seung Hyun's head he was afraid, afraid that what if the prophecy about him was all wrong. What if he did not have the extraordinary strength, power and invisibility that everyone feared he possessed? Instead of eliminating evil in this world he will be damning the most important person in his life to her death bed. Sandara.
At that thought, Seung Hyun shudders in fear.
Although they were both running through the thick forest at an inhumanly insane speed, Sandara still manages to feel the small difference in Seung Hyun when he shuddered. She reassuringly squeezes his hand.
The fear poisoning his mind evaporates when his eyes locks into her loving eyes. Sandara mouths "I love you."
"I love you more." Seung Hyun mouths back. He brings her hand up to his lips and gently kisses it. From that simple connection he felt as though Sandara's power combined with love surged throughout his body. He feels confident that they will survive this.
The Korean vampires never really had a permanent headquarter location compared to the Guardian headquarter. At least almost every month they would move to a new location to keep themselves from getting caught by Guardians. Usually within the city of Seoul they would move from building to building or even from underground to underground. On some occasions they would move to another city close to Seoul. But for some odd reason the Big Boss of the Korean vampire community chose to build their new headquarter location several hours away from Seoul city to an uninhabited area. Their current location is hidden in a dense forest near the foot of a mountain several miles away from Seung Hyun’s old home. No one questioned their big boss as to why they moved so far out from the city. They trusted their boss with his good sense of judgment. Vampires with their speed and strength were able to finish building the new headquarter within a week. From the outside the headquarter looks like an ordinary abandon cabin in the middle of the forest. They built it that way so no human or Guardian would suspect any vampire activities going on in there. They built a secret passage in one of the closets in the cabin. Once you step into the closet you would have to press a button hidden behind a worn out poster at the back of the closet. From there the wall will move to the side revealing an elevator. The walls in the elevator are all white from the ceiling to the floor. The only color in the lift is a red button with an arrow pointing down. It will take you down to the real headquarter. The layout is like a maze to confuse any intruders that do enter their territory. They have high-tech equipment embedded in the walls all over the area to detect any uninvited humans or Guardians. It would alert all the vampires in the headquarter areas at the same time trap the intruders. Only a true vampire has the privilege to know the real layout of where the offices are located around the area and also the different exit points. They would be able to get the information once they step out of the elevator. The vampire would enter another plain black room with only one brown wooden door. To the left of the door there’s a white box. The vampire must open the box and a red glass ball will reveal itself. He or she has to place a hand on the glass ball from there the ball will transfer information to a person with vampire blood flowing in their system. A vampire will feel the information instantly bombarding his/her mind after simply touching the glass ball. Dark angels too can get the information but not all of it. They only have privy of the office where they must report to and the exit points. For them to enter the other offices they must be escorted by the upper rank vampires or else they too would get lost and get in big trouble for snooping around. Vampires love playing games and made it simple for curious intruders to get into their headquarters. They too can also open the door by placing their hand on the glass ball. Once they pass the door the game begins of artfully trapping intruders in different passages.
Vampires and Guardians are way advance than the human race. They secretly hide the information amongst themselves with their advance knowledge of technology and building structures. The same goes for Guardians with how their buildings are built. They have secret passages and equipment all over their buildings at the same time they try to make it less conspicuous to human eyes. The vampires recently moved into the new headquarter one week ago. Basically the headquarter acts like a place for all the planning and reporting that goes on around South Korea. Some of the vampires reside in the headquarters to constantly communicate with other vampires around Korea and the world. While others who are constantly on the field would report at least twice in a week to headquarter. The vampires have a much tougher time staying in one place since the Guardians are always one step ahead of them in trying to block out their plans by infiltrating their headquarter. Even with the vampires security system of trapping intruders the Guardians always finds a way to outsmart them once they’re in the quarter. The Guardians always comes prepare when they’re infiltrating. The casualty deaths for the Guardians are never that high but for the vampires that’s still a good thing for them. Usually in a year about three to four times the Guardian soldiers would successfully infiltrate there headquarter and capture some of their vampire technologists to fish out information of their latest weapons and equipment. Also every year they would learn from their mistakes and think of other ways to kill the intruders even if their casualty death tolls slowly increase with each year. It would seem like a losing war for the vampires with the guardians always capturing or killing their kind but it also goes the same way with the guardians’ kind. The vampires have several small hidden community locations that the guardians have difficulty locating because its’ really well hidden in human vicinities. In those hidden locations vampires carry out their daily routine with corrupting humans at the same time feeding off them and also part of their routine is to search and kill guardians. They walk amongst the humans like they’re one of them. Vampires recently invented their own make-ups to blend in with humans. They also have potions they could drink to smell like humans if ever there near a Guardian. Only this past year the Guardians are having a difficult time controlling the vampires with their latest creations. Some days are good some days are bad. They’re only lucky to capture some vampires who forget to wear their disguises. That is why it’s on the Guardians top list this year to capture the maker of those new cover up disguises for the vampires. Now it’s the vampires turn to have the upper hand this year with outsmarting them. Plus it was just their luck that the meteor landed in the vicinity of their new location. It lessened their travel time in locating hints of the where-about of the ONE. They’re getting closer to winning this war once they have the ONE on their side.
The Big Boss of the Korean vampire community has been ruling the South Korean vampires since the 1600s. The hierarchy for the vampires is different from the guardians. For the vampires it’s more like royalty unlike the guardians where they have seniority and respect to the oldest of their kind. Time changed their title names from King to Big Boss to fit in the modern time but the ruling is still the same. In every continent they have a King ruling with several Lords to manage different areas of the country. Within the private area of the headquarter vampires call their Big Boss “King” but if they’re outside or in their homes they would use “Boss”. Code name keeps them from getting caught. King Joyeong Kim is the current ruler in South Korea. He currently has two sons that were given to him in the early 1800s from his tenth wife. Prior to his tenth wife all his other wives have given him daughters. He had a total of twenty daughters but all had died along with their mothers in each era he has lived in. He has deep hatred towards the Guardians for killing every family he tried to build.
This year he is certain the table will turn on his side because he knows the ONE is a Korean boy. He has been closely monitoring all the signs since he saw the red sky on November 4, 1893. The sky turned red all over the world and no one knew where the ONE was being born at. King Kim scoffs at the Guardians for thinking the vampires did not see the sign of the birth of the ONE but he saw it and knew. He was indeed a true vampire through in through because he was selfish and greedy to keep that information a secret from the rest of the vampire community. He wanted to be the one to capture the ONE and put him under his care. Only in the late 1900s did some information leak about the ONE being born in 1893 and that the Guardians has been searching for the child since then. It has become a race for both kinds of who will find the child but so many years has passed and no signs of the child ever existing. Half of the vampire communities around the world gave up and thought maybe the so called leak information was just to distract the vampires from their killing spree with the Guardians and humans. But King Kim secretly continued on with his search gathering little information here and there.
The first clue that he got a hold of was on January 15, 1909. He sent out one of his men to a secluded province near a mountain close to Busan. During the early morning of that day his youngest son had a nightmare. A grown young man frightened out of his wits had himself crawling into his father’s bed. King Kim has always been strict to his two sons making sure they never show any signs of weakness or softening of their hearts. For his youngest son he allowed himself to soften his heart even if it’s just a little bit when there are nights when his nightmares occurs. This too he has kept a secret from his eldest son and the rest of vampire community about his son’s nightmares. If they find out his son has nightmares it would bring great shame to his position as a King to have a son that shows sign of weakness. How could he have an heir that shows signs of weakness? He could never rule their country with that secret out. Plus the whole vampire community forbids cowards and weak vampires. If they show those kinds of traits they must be executed immediately. Same goes for vampires that turn soft with a conscience and heart. Again another selfish deed for himself to keep his son alive but his son also holds a key that will make him great. Those nightmares are his clues to finding the ONE. His poor youngest son does not understand his dreams but the King does. He does not know where his son inherited his gift but it seems he has seer blood running through his system. Never had this occur in any vampire but King Kim sees that a good sign for him. Even if he tries to explain to the vampire community that his son has a seer blood and that his nightmares are actually visions they would think of him as insane and only covering up his son’s weakness. But that early morning after his son’s crawled into his bed waking his father up. He whispered into his ear about the location near Busan of a father dying in his home with a son grieving. He described to his father what he saw of two men fighting in the forest. The son believed one was a guardian and the other was a vampire. He thought the one that died was a vampire and the son was grieving his father’s death. His son felt like he could relate to his nightmare and was afraid that his dream was warning him of what’s to happen to his father with the Guardians closely watching him. In his father’s mind it was actually the opposite. He always was able to decipher his son’s nightmares since he was a child after the red sky first appeared. His son saw the birth of the child again thinking it was vampire child and the mother dying after giving birth. He thought of his mother after that dream. His father asked him how they looked like and said they look like us meaning they’re Asian and that he saw a baby boy. Going back to January 1909 he called one of his best men to go the location his son described and search for any signs of hidden Guardians or vampires in that area. Throughout the day King Kim waited for an update from the vampire he sent out but heard no news of him until the following day when he sent out more men to search for him. They found his headless body alone in the middle of the forest. They tried tracking for any signs of the killer but found none. King Kim knew the grieving son was somewhere hiding in that forest all alone. It was his chance to get the boy but after two years of searching he concluded the boy left and relocated to another location. He had to wait again for his son to have another nightmare to know his where about. Little did King Kim know that Seung Hyun’s home was really well-hidden by his parents. They planted trees with special potions in them that if any human or vampire passes by it would throw them off to another direction and never thinking of going beyond those special trees.
King Kim’s youngest son only had a total of 5 dreams of the ONE. The other nightmares usually gave him hints of what the Guardian councils were planning to their community. Although his son’s other dreams of the ONE were only small glimpse of what’s happening in the boy’s life he never really saw the other boy’s face. He usually sees the back of his head or blur of his side profile. It frustrated the King a lot when he could not get a description of the ONE to make it easier for his search. But recently a few nights ago his son came to his office with some news of his latest dream. King Kim could not read his son’s face but he could tell he was very tired. His guess was that since that early morning when he crawled into his bed he felt ashamed of himself. His oldest brother always bullied him for being weak and that he could never be as strong as their father. Since then his youngest son always hid all his emotions and only talked to his father privately in his office when he has dreams that could help his father with his ruling. A few years after the second dream of the ONE, his youngest son figured out his gift as strength to help his father out. He still did not understand the dreams with the other boy and only thinks of it as a mirror of himself showing weakness through his dream. Only his father could secretly decipher his dreams. So a few nights ago in his father’s office he explained to him his recent dream on March 12 of a beautiful girl entering their new headquarter. His father looked at him with a confusion expression and nodded his head for his son to continue on.
“It was a strange dream, father. She looked like an angel with her bright glowing aura walking through our halls. I was hypnotized and entranced as I followed her down the hall to your office here.” His son shook his head down as his golden locks brush aside from his face. “I froze in place after entering your office. I saw your lifeless body slumped on top of your desk. She just stood there with a playful smirk and that broke me. I was in front of her face in an instant with my hands wrapped around .” He balled his hands in a fist still looking down, “I promise you father I will find her before she could kill you. She is the ONE right?” He looked up at his father with hope that he was right.
King Kim smiled back at his son, “Thank you for telling me this. We will make sure I have extra security and that I’m never alone not even a millisecond. You may go now and I will call you if I have any other request for you to do for me.” He waves his hand in dismissal. His son stands up and slightly bows his head at his father, “One more thing before you go. Remember I cherish both you and your brother. If ever I do die you and your brother knows what to do, okay?”
“It won’t happen, father. I won’t allow it. But yes we will keep our promise to you father.” He gave a small smile to his father before leaving his office. Deep down inside he is determined to find that girl in his dream and kill her before she makes his dream come true. I will find you…
Seung Hyun and Sandara slow down to rest at a small stream. Sandara scoops the fresh water with her delicate hands to . She gestures Seung Hyun to also drink. They must remain silent since they’re so close to their destination. Seung Hyun kneels beside Sandara and scoops a couple times to fill his thirst. Sandara’s eyes scan their surrounding before standing up. She reaches for Seung Hyun’s hand and pulls him up. With a gentle squeeze of her hand she smiles up at him. Seung Hyun looks back at her adoringly and silently sighs. This will be over soon…
They break into a run again. The sun was high up when they began their journey and now the sun is slowly setting once more. Guardians can go on for a couple days without food but must always keep themselves hydrated until their bodies tell them they need food. Sandara and Seung Hyun sense five vampires about a mile away from them. They slow down their pace again. Seung Hyun quickly hands Sandara the glass vial. She drinks it quietly and bites her lower lips. G.O. says this will only last for a couple hours. Hopefully we get this done before then. Seung Hyun grabs her hand and reassuringly squeezes it. He mouths, ”Let’s go.”
They encounter the five vampires they sensed earlier. The vampires were too slow with the surprise attack. They weren’t able to lift an arm to counter the attack. Sandara smiled with glee looking at the five dead vampires. We can really do this. Seung Hyun is a true fighter with his instincts. As long as we don’t get distracted we can defeat them. I can feel our strength has intensified with us being side by side. Father was right about true love being our greatest strength. A tear escapes Sandara’s right eye but was quickly captured by Seung Hyun’s thumb brushing it away. He looks at her trying to read her expression as to why she would cry. Did she not think they could this? Seung Hyun shook his head to get that thought out of his mind. No, we can do this. He pulls Sandara into an embrace and kisses the top of her head.
Sandara gently rubs her face in Seung Hyun’s chest before pulling away. She looks up at him and mouths, ”We can do this.” Seung Hyun plants a soft kiss on her lips and mouths back, ”Yes, we can. I love you so much Sandara.”
AUTHOR'S NOTE: I just wanted to give you some background info on the vampires. You guys read the background history of Guardians and Dark Angels. But read the perspective of what Guardians think of Vampires but now you can have sense of what the Vampires feel towards the Guardians through King Kim. I'll be introducing 2 new characters in this story obviously the 2 sons' of King Kim. Hehehe I hope you'll like the 2 new guys that will enter the lives of our main characters. (My description of the youngest son is kind of vague. Blonde hair? Who might that be? And I didn't describe his older brother but a hint is he's hot. Of course both brothers are and all the characters in this fic are beautiful.) The King's sons will definitely throw a lot of trials and bumps towards the couple but like what I said at the beginning of this fic "Are you ready to enter into THEIR world? LOVE is their source of power to SURVIVE." Anyways thank you guys again for being patient with this fic. But I'm back and will definitely try my best to at least finish this fic. But its not anytime soon there's still alot going in my head and the adventure has only begun
