(Amber’s POV)

(We were having English lesson and suddenly someone knocked on the door.)

(Miss Lee, our teacher, opened the door and talked with Narsha.)

Miss Lee: Okay, I understand. Come in.

(Narsha and a girl came in.)

Narsha: Good morning. Sorry to interrupt. This girl is also one of your new classmates. Introduce yourself.

Boy A: WOW! She is really pretty!!!!
Girl A: Yea. I have to admit that.

Krystal: Annyeonghaseyo.

Miss Lee: Just a second. We are having English lesson, so please use English.

Krystal: Hi everyone. I am Krystal. I am sorry for being late.

[Krystal?! Why is she here?]

Boy A: We will forgive you!

Girl A: She speaks like a native speaker.

Narsha: Amber!

Amber: Yes?

Narsha: Krystal will be your buddy. Be nice to her.

Amber: I will.

Narsha: Goodbye class.

(Krystal came and sat next to me.)

Amber: Krystal?!

Krystal: Hi! Amber!

Amber: Why are you here? You should be studying in the junior class.

Krystal: I told you. I studied hard and I skipped a few grades.

[Unbelievable.]

Amber: Well… I thought you lied.

Krystal: Huh…

Amber: I thought you were joking. Just didn’t know that you are THAT smart.

Krystal: Fine.

Amber: Anyway why did you come? What reason makes you come?

Krystal: My mom said it would be nice if Jessica and I go to the same school.

Amber: So you came here for Jessica?

Krystal: (nodding) Yes.

Amber: I guess I smell something fishy. You came here for “your oppa”, right? Oh! So “your oppa” is studying in our school? Or maybe… “your oppa” is one of the exchange students? Am I right?

Krystal: Amber! You are not a detective. There’s nothing fishy. I came here for Jessica. Okay?

[So I am right. Krystal’s oppa is really studying in here now.]

[One day I will find out who “Krystal’s oppa” is .]

(Krystal’s POV)

Amber: Fine.

[I know Amber won’t believe me.]

[I know… the “my sister is studying in here” reason is really lame…]

[I know Narsha knew I was lying.]

[I was surprised that Narsha let me join this exchange program (even when I was using such a lame reason…).]

[Amber is right… I came for “my oppa”.]

[I named my crush as “my oppa”.]

[I was four when I first met my oppa.]

[It was a hot summer day.]

[I was doing a photo shoot for some fall outfit. (My mom thinks that Jessica and I are pretty and cute and should do some modeling.)]

[I was sweating, but I was happy because mom said I looked like a doll in that dress.]

[Like before, we were having the photo shoot with some other kids.]

[While mom was fixing Jessica’s dress, I sat at the corner and waited for my “solo” photo shoot.]

[“It’s your turn.” the staff said to a boy.]

[The boy started his “solo” photo shoot.]

[I watched and I could not take my eyes off him.]

[He was sparkling.]

[He finished his photo shoot perfectly in ten seconds (probably ten minutes…).]

[“Krystal~ It’s your turn now.” The staff said.]

[I finished my part. And I sat back to the corner.]

[“You were doing a great job.” The boy said and sat next to me.]

[“Thank… you…” I said.]

[I took a glimpse at his face. He was really sparkling! He was… a prince!]

[My heart started to flutter…]

[“You look like a doll in this dress.” He said.]

[“…”]

[He said… I looked like a doll!!!!!]

[I felt my heart jumping like mad. My body was getting hotter and hotter.]

[“Are you alright? Your cheek is so red just like a tomato.” He asked.]

[He touched my cheek and said “Maybe I should get you some cold water.”.]

[“It’s okay.” I said and I ran to find my mom.]

[He was the first boy stranger that touched me.]

[“Mom!” I ran to hug my mom.]

[“Hey Krystal. Why your cheeks are so red? Oh no…” my mom said.]

[My mom said I was having a fever and she ran me to the hospital.]

[It’s weird for a four year old to think such a way… but…]

[I knew I was having a lovesick.]

[I was five when I met my oppa again.]

[We were doing a photo shoot for winter outfit.]

[I stood at the corner and waited for my partner.]

[My partner came.]

[He was still sparkling!]

[I was happy (not because of the dress) but because I could finally meet him again.]

[“Oh! Hi! I met you before. You are Krystal, right?” He said.]

[He… remembered me!]

[“You remember me?” I asked in English. (I was studying in an international school and was forced to speak in English, so… I spoke in English unintentionally.)]

[“Ah… Yea…” He answered in English. “Because you still looks like a doll and… still has the “tomato red” cheeks” He continued in Korean.]

[“Heard you had a fever that day. Sorry for that.” He said.]

[“Hope you are alright today.” He touched my cheek. “Um… It seems fine.”]

[We had our photo shoot.]

[I was nervous and was stiff like a rock.]

[He took my hand and asked me to stay calm.]

[He said I was doing great (though I knew I wasn’t).]

[He was a caring person.]

[I had a great time.]

[And I kept that photo in my treasure chest.]

[Later my mom and my oppa’s mom became friends.]

[We met more often and I knew more about my oppa.]

[My oppa is a few years older than me.]

[My oppa is studying in a normal school (not international school).]

[That’s why I begged my mom to let me study in a normal high school.]

[My oppa believes that a Korean should speak Korean fluently.]

[That’s why I studied hard on my Korean.]

[My oppa said it would be nice if a couple can have lessons and learn together in school.]

[So I studied hard and skipped a few grades, wishing that one day I could study in the same class and learn with my oppa.]

[No matter what obstacles I face…]

[I strive for my oppa.]
