-- 05 -- You would find out the results of the bid after you returned home from school. You were distracted the entire time there, and though the teachers didn’t want to punish you, they had no choice. You took your punishments quietly, your mind a million miles away. Jia squeezed your hand as you stood on the steps of the school, too terrified to start walking towards the house just yet. Hyuna passed by you with a smirk on her face. “I hope it’s some old wrinkly man,” she said snidely before laughing and disappearing into the crowd. Your face turned a shade of green, and you felt your body go light with anxiety. Jia huffed. “If there weren’t so many people around, I’d take off my sandal and throw it at her.” “I don’t think I’m ready to go home yet,” you said, feeling your stomach churn. Jia gave you a sympathetic look and looked around. “Then we won’t go home yet! I’ve been saving up my allowance, so let’s go out and eat until you can’t anymore,” she said with a smile on her face. “I can’t eat-” “Yes, you can. Look! There goes the vendor with your favorite shrimp balls!” And without another word, Jia dragged you into the streets. -- “Where are they? Why aren’t they home yet?” Gyuri paced around the main house while Mother did some more calculations.
