“What do you mean that's EXACTLY how you met?!” Lauren exclaimed.

"Well.. yeah that was it. How else do you want me to explain??"

"I mean, WHAT DAY WAS IT?" Lauren stood up, exaggerating her words with her arms. "WHAT WAS THE WEATHER? WHAT WERE YOU DANCING TO? WAS WAS JONGHYUN'S HAIRCUT??"

Amber couldn't help but laugh. "Who the heck even remembers that?"

"Seriously Lauren?" Miyun laughed with her. "Well, it was probably a weekday, I don't remember what the weather was, I have no idea what I was dancing to, and he probably had a bald-ish cut." She shrugged.

"A bald-ish cut?" Amber laughed again, clapping her hands.

"Yeah.. it wasn't attractive, I'll tell you that."

Lauren gasped, eventually pretending to cry.  She frowned at Miyun and stomped her foot. "But Kim Jonghyun is HOT NO MATTER WHAT!" She sat back down with a sigh. "Well, wasn't he, uhm, checking you out if he just stood there watching you dance?"

"'REN!" Miyun pushed her shoulder in disbelief. 

"WHAT?"

"I mean.." Amber said. "He is pretty known to be a ladies' man." She shrugged.

Miyun cleared . "That's what he thought and probably still thinks," she explained. "And that's what he made the public to believe."

Lauren rolled her eyes. "Come on, 'Yun! I've seen Andrew and everyone else. It'll take a well experienced romantic to woo you."

"I was his first girlfrien--"

"And as far as I know, Jong doesn't fall just like that," Amber explained. "There's obviously more you can tell us. Did you seduce hi--"

"OH GOD NO!"

"Did he seduce you--" 

"NO!" Miyun shook the ideas off her head. "Ok honestly, it was all neutral. And to an extent, I guess yeah, I liked being with him and listening to his voice and stuff."

"Who doesn't? You lucky--"

"EXCEPT his high notes. Anway, I didn't think much of it. SM had A LOT of attractive guys with attractive voices, and well, we almost couldn't stand each other actually... especially since we couldn't get each others' crafts right." Miyun facepalmed at the thought of young Jonghyun's horrible posture. "I don't understand it either. Until today, I can't explain it explicitly." She reached for her bag beside her bed. She took her wallet and pulled out a small photo. "But uhm,  we went on a fake date--"

Lauren stood up and squealed. "LIKE YUNHANAM??"

"Oh gosh, Yunhanam.." Miyun pulled out another facepalm. "HEY! I'm not noona though!"

Lauren immediately shuffled through her phone while Miyun explained to Amber what the show was. She was too busy training when the show was filmed and aired, apparently.

"HERE IT IS!" Lauren forced her phone in Miyun's hands, who was sitting in the middle of the two. Lauren fanned herself with her hands. "This is one of my most favorite Jonghyun moments EVEEER!"

Miyun cleared , seeing a thumbnail of Jonghyun standing in front of a girl playing the piano. "Oh, this."

"Hm?" Lauren tilted her head.

"I remember you making me watch this series, but I don't think I ever saw this part."

"I swear, I made you watch the whole thing with me."

Miyun shrugged. 

"Maybe you went to the bathroom or something-- HEY, STOP TALKING AND JUST PLAY IT."

"Aww! The noona is so pretty!" Miyun immediately reacted, appearing completely unfazed by the all too familiar scene playing in front of her. "And I like this song too!"

Lauren sighed. "I will forever be jealous of her."

"You're not missing out on much, to be honest."

"It was cute. Noona made a mistake in the middle."

"WOW WHAT A JOKE!" Miyun groaned all of a sudden. "LOOK AT THIS. DO YOU KNOW HOW IMPATIENT AND RUDE HE IS WHEN IT COMES TO TEACHING MUSIC?"

"I really like 'Nothing Better' by Brown Eyed Soul. I prepared a music sheet. Can you play it for me?"

"Awwwwww~" Lauren and Amber swooned in unison.

"Wait, is he gonna sing?" Miyun asked in a bit of surprise. 

"If I have a girlfriend I want my girlfriend to play the piano while I sing."

Lauren squealed and Amber couldn't help but show a huge grin, both nudging Miyun's shoulders.

Miyun raised a brow at the video. "Then you should probably hold auditions next time."

"S-such an eargasm.." Lauren half-whispered.

"멈춰있던 내맘을, 밉게도 고장난 내 가슴을 (My heart that stopped short

"Oh!" Amber reacted. "He looks really sad."

"Yeah.." Miyun softly agreed.

"I messed up a lot, huh?"

"NO UNNIE," Miyun said, pointing at the screen. "YOU'RE DOING FINE. PLEASE SLAP HIM FOR LAUGHING AT YOU!"

"이제 숨처럼 내곁에 항상 쉬며 그렇게 있어주면 (And now like breathing, if you were to always rest by my side, if you were to always remain this way)"

"Nothing better, nothing better than you," Miyun softly sang with the video. 

Amber tapped her shoulder, briefly looking at an incredibly excited Lauren. "We know."

"Shhhh!" She shrugged her hand off. "I just really like this song too!"

"How was my first impression?" // "You were very cute."

"Wrong move," Miyun and Amber said together.

"He was really cute though!!" Lauren defended.

"I wanted to hear that I was manly."

Miyun bursted out in laughter. "HA! You keep trying, Hyunnie!"

"Hyunnie?" Amber seemed surprised.

"Aww! A pet name!" Lauren placed her left arm around Miyun.

"A duet. Together."

"Aww! You go unnie!" Miyun cheered, shrugging off Lauren's arm.

The three happily swayed to the short duet. Right when the video ended, Lauren attacked Miyun with a tight hug that made them both collapse on the bed. 

"W-what are y-y-you doing t-to me?" Miyun accidentally dropped her phone on the carpet, struggling to talk in her grip.

"That video makes a lot more sense now AND I'M JUST VERY HAPPY HE HAS YOU AGAIN!" Lauren explained. "EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T APPRECIATE HIM BUT I'M SURE YOU'RE JUST LYING TO YOURSELF AND YOU STILL LOVE HIM."

Miyun tried hard to sit up, eventually breaking free from Lauren. "I DO appreciate him, and of course I love my best friend."

Lauren rolled her eyes. "Your denial disgusts me."

"Oh!" Amber spotted the picture beside Miyun's wallet.

"Ah yeah!" Miyun took the picture. "I was cute, right?" she said, covering Jonghyun's face.

"Dude, Jonghyun is a lot cuter than you," Lauren said while snatching the picture from her. "So, fake date huh?"

"Oh! I think I know about this!" Amber butted in. "Wasn't this for a talent show? And Key and Tiffany unnie forced you to do it?"

Miyun and Lauren both looked at her in disbelief.

"Wow, who told you about that?" Miyun asked.

"I think it was Key."

"Ugh, he just never shuts up," Miyun said under her voice. "But yeah. We decided to do talent show so we could prove to our families that we actually have some kind of talent and not just wasting our lives in training. We decided we wanted to compose something, and we thought a love song would be the easiest since it's so common."

"But it was actually hard?" Lauren asked.

Miyun nodded. "Unfortunately," she said with a chuckle. "And we unwillingly said yes to the idea of a fake date because we were hopeless losers."

"Hopeless romantics, you mean?" Amber corrected.

Miyun shook her head. "We were hopeless romantics after the fake date."

Though a bit rusty in her mind, Miyun tried her best to recap that faithful day. And quite surprisingly, the two stayed calm and quiet the whole time, as if trying to take in every detail by hear.

"..and right after that was when we decided to snap this photo," Miyun concluded, pointing at the photo was again.

Before Lauren could lock Miyun again in one of her killer hugs, Miyun's phone rang. She stood up and took the device from her table. "Hello?" she answered in English without looking at caller ID.

"Aish, did I get the wrong number again?"

"Ya! We were just talking about you!" Miyun replied, knowing exactly who was in the other line.

"I mean, who wouldn't talk about me?"

Miyun rolled her eyes and just stayed silent until he spoke again.

"So uhm, don't get mad at me--get mad at the company--but they're suddenly telling us about this flashback-throwback theme for the concert, and they're gonna show our time capsule video."

"THEY'RE W-W-WHAT?!"

"And--"

"CAN'T THEY PHOTOSHOP ME OUT?"

"And--"

"I'M GONNA HAVE TO LEAVE AMERICA AND KOREA."

"SHHHH! AND, I kinda mentioned you're here and they're a little bit too fond of the idea of the three of us singing our lost debut song."

Miyun suddenly choked on her own spit, briefly looking at the two confused girls in her room. "EXCUSE ME?"

Jonghyun groaned. "I know.. this is horrible for my image."

". . . EXCUSE ME?"

"WHAT?"

"Aish.." Miyun sat on her chair. "Is this their way of embarrassing me for dropping out last minute?"

Jonghyun laughed. "Probably!"

"Come here now!!" a voice, obviously Key's, shouted from the background. "You're finally gonna debut!!!" He laughed, a bit mockingly.

"OH PLEASE! I'M PROBABLY THE REASON WHY YOU EVEN DEBUTED."

Jonghyun chuckled. "Ok, just chill Yunnie! It was a legitimate question, but you don't have to if you don't want to. You're probably not even in shape--"

"YAH!"

The other line shuffled. "Don't be such a killjoy!" Key exclaimed. "I mean, they'll probably refund your concert ticket if you do this~"
