‘Meet me where it began.’

That’s all there was. Nothing else. She wasn’t picking up her calls anymore, and she never turned off her phone. Never. Keeping one hand gripped on the steering wheel, the speed dial typed her number in but again all I heard was nothing. Empty.

It wasn’t meant to be like this. It wasn’t meant to sound like the ashes of a long burnt out fire. It wasn’t meant to end. So there was still the hope, the pathetic voice in my head trying to convince me everything was still the same. But I had already felt that tension, that sense of breathlessness that came with loss.

Still, I drove on. The air whipping through the open window a cold, dry slap to my face allowing me to stay calm through the madness. All that was left was the straight road in front of me. The one I would continue to forward on until something would finally break me. Break me so completely that there would be nothing left.

Just a little something I wrote on the spur of a moment. It's based on "it's War", MBLAQ, an amazing song about betrayal and broken loyalty.
