"Momo... you know that Mina is coming back, right?" 

 

Momo ignored the clear intentions of the question and simply shrugged 

 

"It's a mini group comeback, I thought it was obvious that she was going to be there" 

 

Momo continued browsing her cell phone, as if she really didn't care in the least

 

Sana was studying her expressions and she knew that the older one still hadn't gotten over certain things

 

"So... you don't mind?"  

 

Momo sighed and put the phone away, she settled down and looked straight into her best friend's eyes 

 

"I already told you, for me she doesn't exist and if we have to work for some reason, I'm a professional and I'll do it with her ghost if it's necessary" 

 

Momo went back to her phone and Sana felt very frustrated, she wanted her two friends back, she didn't want to have half of one and half of the other 

 

"So what if she apologizes? You couldn't forgive her?"  Momo let out a humorless laugh 

 

"Let Mina apologize as much as she wants, I don't care anymore" 

 

Sana stood up and walked towards the other girl, snatching the phone from her 

 

"You're lying! You still have feelings for Mina but you're scared" Momo got up and faced her 

 

"I don't feel anything for her anymore, only contempt, what did you want me to feel? When she didn't give a if I was suffering, let her rot!"  

 

Momo snatched the phone from her and she flopped down on the bed again

 

Sana felt very sad for both of them, they were the MiSaMo trio, their friendship was so strong that she thought they would never be separated, but now, she is not sure if they will ever be able to return to the way they were before

 

Sana sighed and decided to go home 

 

"I'll go home now Momo, Dahyun must be waiting for me" 

 

Momo just nodded without taking her eyes off her cell phone

 

"Don't forget to feed Boo and Dobby" 

 

"They are my only company, I would never forget them" 

 

Sana felt sorry to see how her best friend ended up deciding on such a lonely life 

 

"Fine, then... I'll go, don't even think about not going on the first day practice session" Sana pointed at her 

 

"Don't worry, if I absent, Jihyo will fire me, besides I already told you, I'm a professional" Sana tried to smile 

 

"Well then, good night Momo" 

 

Momo turned off her phone and straightened up, looking to her best friend 

 

"Good night to you too, Satang" 

 

Sana smiled at the nickname and a tear escaped her eyes as she remembered the good times when they were all friends

Momo was stretching, her job as a choreographer had allowed her to maintain her flexibility and stamina, so making a mini comeback wasn't complicated at all

 

The rest of the girls had already arrived, with the exception of Mina, Momo still got along with all of them, but not with the younger japanese

 

The doors of the room opened and Mina entered with elegance and poise

 

Momo was not a liar, Mina looked beautiful, but only she knew how much that beauty made her suffer

 

Momo ignored her and continued to stretch

 

Mina greeted everyone with a big smile, while everyone else locked her in a tight hug, all but Momo

 

When Mina was able to get out of the hug, she saw that Momo had ignored her and was still doing her stretches 

 

The ballerina slowly approached the oldest and tried to put on her best smile

 

"Hello Momo" 

 

Momo was serious when she said that she was a professional, that means don't ignore your co-workers

 

Momo turned around and gave her a small smile 

 

"Good morning, Myoui-san" 

 

Mina felt like she had been run over by a train

 

No more "Mitang", "Minari", "Miss Penguin" or "Mina", Momo addressed her like "Myoui-san", a term used when you are not very close to the person or when you want to be formal with them, and Mina felt that all their years of friendship were gone

 

Mina nodded and walked away from her

 

Momo ignored her and kept stretching

The practice started and Jihyo led everyone, yet with her new position as CEO of JYPE, she didn't let that get in the way of celebrating their 15th anniversary as a group

 

When they finished their group practice, Jihyo made a very important announcement

 

"Girls, we are going to do some special performances in our mini comeback, at the request of Sana and Nayeon we have decided to do couple dances, so please come and choose a piece of paper, remember there are 4 couples" 

 

Momo rolled her eyes, of course that had to be Sana's idea

 

The older Japanese walked over and took a piece of paper from Jihyo's cap

 

"I'm number 3" Dahyun exclaimed excitedly 

 

"Wow, so you'll be my partner Dubu" Jeongyeon showed her piece of paper with number 3 written on it 

 

"I'm number 2, who is my partner?"  Sana yelled with a huge smile

 

Tzuyu held up her piece of paper and Sana ran to hug her

 

"Yay, my partner is Tzuyu!"  Chaeyoung hugged Tzuyu from behind and pouted

 

"It's not fair, keep your hands off my girlfriend, snake" 

 

Chaeyoung joked with her Unnie, Sana laughed and stuck out her tongue 

 

"No, Tzuyu is my partner and you put up with it" 

 

"Chaeyoung you can't complain, I'll be your beautiful partner dance" Nayeon pulled the younger into a hug and squeezed her 

 

"U-Unnie, c-can't breathe" 

 

Nayeon released her and looked around the room, immediately froze seeing Mina and Momo face to face 

 

"It seems that I will be your partner Myoui-san, it will be a pleasure" 

 

Momo bowed but she didn't smile, you could see in her face that this didn't made her happy

 

Mina on the other hand also felt numb, dry and her heart about to explode

 

"W-Well, the couples are done, you have 1 month and 15 days to do a choreography of at least 3 minutes, you are free to choose the concept you like, but remember, it's a couple dance" The girls nodded to their leader 

 

"Very well, then... you are free to go" 

 

Momo gathered her things in a hurry, of course she was upset

 

She quickly said goodbye to the girls and left

 

Mina stood in the middle of the room, confused, but above all very excited 

 

She would have the opportunity that she always wanted and she was not going to miss it

 

Mina smiled and squeezed the piece of paper in her hand

 

"I promise I'll get you back or stop calling me Myoui Mina"

Mina was not having a good time, even though Momo had agreed to take her hands and grab her hips, their expressions weren't helping at all and Mina knew that Momo had possibly the best expressions in the group, but she just wanted to make it clear that she wasn't enjoying herself

 

Momo and Mina didn't talk outside of anything necessary for the choreography, and every time Mina complained about Momo's dead fish expressions, the older would apologize and say that she would do better

 

Their dance would be to the rhythm of Still Loving You-The Scorpions, but a much more romantic version than the original

 

Momo was an excellent dancer, possibly the best of her generation, but she wasn't comfortable touching and caressing her partner too much, least of all, Mina

 

They were currently holding hands, their bodies close but not too close, as Momo led her partner in a little Bals 

 

"Myoui-san, I don't think this is going to work, even though the dance is in couples, it doesn't mean we have to hold hands all the time" 

 

Mina knew that Momo was right, but she didn't really care about the dance, the only thing that she wanted, was to be close to the one who was her best friend

 

Mina let go of her hands and tried to meet her eyes, but Momo never wanted to

 

"How long are you going to treat me like this Momo?"  Momo stared at the ground 

 

"I don't know what you mean Myoui-san, we are strangers who are working as a team" 

 

Mina felt her knees weaken, but she still held her 

 

"Is that all I am to you now? A stranger?" 

 

Mina felt tears want to come out, but she held them back

 

"Yes, you are Myoui-san, an exceptional dancer who was paired with me by fate, I am trying my best as a professional, that's all" The room was silent

 

Momo knew that her members were watching, but she didn't care

 

Mina felt tears running down her cheeks 

 

Trying to hide her pain, she ran out of the room and Sana and Nayeon ran after her

 

Momo stood still looking at the ground, she sighed, took her things and left

 

Momo knew that possibly in a few hours Sana and Nayeon would come to scold her, but she didn't really care

 

Momo laid down on her sofa and took a nap

 

TOC! TOC! TOC!

 

"Momo! Open the door or I swear I'll break it down!"

 

Momo woke up from her nap while Boo and Dobby barked loudly

 

"Easy, I'm coming" 

 

Momo opened the door and Sana stormed into the room, Nayeon and Jeongyeon behind her, greeting Momo shyly

 

The older Japanese closed the door and walked into her living room, where Sana was giving her a death stare

 

"Do you want some juice?"  

 

Momo went to her kitchen and came back with 1 big box of juice, poured four glasses and gave hers to Nayeon and Jeongyeon, took hers and Sana's, and approached her best friend

 

"Are you going to want it or should I drink it myself?"  

 

Sana was incredulous, couldn't she see how angry she was

 

Sana was about to grab the glass, only to throw it away, but Momo moved away from her

 

"You're not fooling me Sana, if you came to scold me there's no need to waste my juice" 

 

Momo walked back to the sofa and placed her glasses on the coffee table 

 

The older Japanese took a sip of her juice and looked at her best friend  

 

"You can start now" 

 

Sana flopped down on the sofa and looked at her best friend 

 

"What you did to Mina is not right" Momo raised an eyebrow 

 

"But what she did to me, it's correct, right?"  Sana rolled her eyes 

 

"For God's sake, that was 3 years ago Momo, get over it! It's in the past"

 

Momo took another sip of her juice 

 

"This will be in the past too, we'll dance, possibly she'll try to apologize to me, then I'll refuse, she is going to cry a bit, but then she can move on... time is great, don't you think?"  

 

Momo was about to take another sip when the glass went flying across her living room, her floor stained and Boo and Dobby up the juice on the floor

 

"Listen to me well Momo, I'm tired of you two, but your attitude really makes me sick" 

 

Sana took her by the neck of her shirt and brought her close to her face, their noses were touching, Nayeon and Jeongyeon were very attentive to what was happening

 

"At least she is trying to solve things, she accepted her mistake and is sorry, she just wants to talk to you" 

 

Momo smiled sideways and looked into her eyes 

 

"Is that so? And what happened when I wanted to talk? Did she give me the opportunity?"  

 

Momo laughed humorlessly and tucked Sana's hair behind her ear 

 

"Don't be a hypocrite Sana, or do you want to side with her? Because if that's what you want, I'm not going to stop you" 

 

Sana's grip weakened and Momo stepped back, adjusting her neck 

 

"I'm not asking you to understand me, but don't pretend you understand everything either, this is between her and me, either she wins or I win, but there can't be us... not anymore" 

 

Sana felt like crying and although Momo's words were sharp, she didn't feel like they were true

 

"You're lying Momo, you're just trying to convince yourself that you don't feel anything for her anymore, but your eyes say the opposite, when your hands join hers, your eyes shine, nothing has changed" 

 

Momo stood up and placed herself on top Sana's, her hips around her best friend's legs

 

"You say I lie, but you do the same, you're not helping her for her own good, you're doing it for yourself, to see the three of us together again, you don't care if she's okay, you just want to fulfill your fantasies" 

 

Momo got off from her best friend's lap and was about to sit down when Sana spoke

 

"And that's so bad?... Wishing that never happened and we 9 continued as before, is it so bad to want that Momo?"  

 

Momo didn't speak, there was nothing to say

 

Sana wiped her tears and got up from the sofa, Nayeon and Jeongyeon followed her

 

"Aren't you going to scold me?"  Momo spoke up, referring to 2yeon

 

"We just came to make sure you didn't kill each other" 

 

"Ok, then... mission accomplished" 

 

Nayeon smiled at her and the 3 of them were about to leave the house when Sana turned around

 

"One last thing Momo, if you make her cry again... I'll kick your " 

 

Sana, Nayeon and Jeongyeon walked out of the house and Momo sighed, patted her dogs and smiled at them

 

"I'm glad you guys are with me" 

 

Momo carried them on her lap and cooed them slowly

Mina wasn't going to deny that Momo's cold treatment hurt her a lot, but she wasn't going to give up that easily

 

She knew that she deserved it, but still, it hurt her a lot to know that at some point they were best friends and could even be more than that, but her fear and her insecurities denied them that opportunity

 

Mina and Momo were practicing their choreography, the steps and rhythm were easy to memorize, they were both excellent dancers

 

Momo now improved her expressions and sometimes it seemed that she was really enjoying the dance, the problem was that their dance felt dry, it didn't convey no emotion despite the efforts of both

 

Mina sighed, all her efforts to try to talk to Momo failed, she really wanted to fix things, but the other refused to listen

 

Momo excused herself and went to the bathroom 

 

Mina wasn't sure if this was the right place, but she needed to get Momo alone so they could talk more freely 

 

Mina followed her and entered a few seconds later, closing the door and locking it

 

Momo came out of the cubicle to find Mina standing in front of her

 

"Is something wrong Myoui-san?"  

 

Mina gritted her teeth, she was tired of being treated like a stranger

 

"Yes, it happens, I'm tired Momo, please... let's talk" Momo rolled her eyes and washed her hands

 

"I have nothing to talk to you about, Myoui-san" Momo dried her hands and walked towards the door

 

Mina, in a desperate attempt to fix the things, took her by the wrist and was finally able to look into her eyes 

 

"What do I have to do for you to forgive me, Momo?"  

 

The older Japanese didn't look away and Mina could see a small trace of doubt on her eyes, but it was very small

 

Momo pulled her wrist out of her grasp and faced her

 

"Get out of my life again!, It won't be that hard for you, you've done it before" 

 

Momo turned around and opened the door, completely furious

 

Mina couldn't hold back her tears and knelt on the ground

 

"I-I'm sorry Momoring, I'm so sorry"
