“You have nothing to worry about with Donghae,” Hyukjae assures. “He can take care of himself.”

Minho looks dubiously over at Donghae, which is fair. His husband is knelt down on the ground and is once again playing with their cat. He's laughing, face alight with joy as he sends Fuji flitting back and forth across the floor with a feather toy.

Hyukjae smiles fondly at the sight for a second. Then he reaches into his boot and pulls out a throwing knife Donghae had gifted him a few months back. He doesn't hesitate, flipping it in his grip and throwing it at his husband.

Minho gasps audibly, but Donghae's hand comes flying up, snatching the blade by the handle before whirling around. His body is tense and his eyes are dark as he assesses the room. He frowns when his gaze lands on Hyukjae, who makes sure he looks relaxed and nonchalant about the whole affair.

His husband looks down at the knife and after a second, understanding dawns on his face. He relaxes and the assassin-Donghae disappears. And then pouts, puppy-dog eyes on full display.

"Hyukjae!" he says. "Why did you do that?"

Huukjae coos, heading over and kissing Donghae's forehead.

"I'm sorry my love," he says. Donghae stands, still pouting intensely.

"That was rude," Donghae says. "And you scared Fuji."

Fuji is suddenly nowhere to be found, presumably having bolted when Donghae had turned.

"I will apologize to her later, love," Hyukjae says. Donghae still looks upset, but he hands the knife back to Hyukjae.
