Nine months go by slower than you might think. Until they reach the last few weeks. And suddenly, it's no longer about the fact that she's going to become a mother, it's no longer the celebration that she's going to have kids.

It's about the fact that Jeongyeon's wife is ready to give birth to two babies at any time.

Jeongyeon absently checked her phone, and Momo gave her a double look.

She explained running her hands through her short hair, closing her eyes and yawning. Since the beginning of the week Nayeon called at random times to Jeongyeon, to see how many minutes she arrived at her house and took her to the hospital, planning everything meticulously. 

"Again? Didn't you do this last week?"

"We did this four times last week. I'm taking her by surprise today."

Sheriff Yoo continues to read Momo's to-do list as best she can, fighting her mind as she wanders elsewhere.

Everything was ready, Nayeon had her last check-up with Mina today. - That's what Jeongyeon thought in the last few minutes.

So they would be officially moving into Nayeon's house. Construction had just finished, so there was a bigger bathroom and extra rooms for the babies and guests. Jeongyeon was pleased that her daughters would have everything they needed when they arrived.

Momo gave him a reassuring smile, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I appreciate it, Momo. But I'm not actually leaving completely."

"Wait, what do you mean?"

The other policewoman was confused, after all, Momo had been preparing all week to take on Jeongyeon's responsibilities.

"I'll come check in every morning, every afternoon and I'll be checking my phone all the time."

Jeongyeon's phone starts ringing. Her brain wires stop working. She breathes shallowly, only calming down when she finds out it's just Tzuyu.

Tzuyu's tone is reassuring. She can hear Jihyo talking to Jeongyeon's parents in the background.

"We managed to cover most of the place, but we're almost out of bubble wrap."

"Bubble Wrap?"

Jeongyeon asks genuinely confused. Jihyo growls a quick string of words before picking up the phone.

"Yeah, she covered everything in bubble wrap. I tried to explain that the babies won't be walking anytime soon."

Her voice gets louder, talking farther and farther away from the phone.

"And they definitely won't be tall enough to reach the ceiling fan!"

"Hey! Better safe than sorry!"

Jeongyeon hears Jihyo scolding his clueless girlfriend.

"No fighting! I want it done now!"

So now it's Jeongyeon's mother's familiar voice on the line. 

"We have a lot to do! Everything will be ready this afternoon."

Jeongyeon's mother soothes her, her soothing voice sounding like music in her ears.

"Love you baby."

"I love you Mommy, thank you."

Jeongyeon laughs as he hangs up the phone, hoping it will smother the exhaustion that follows. She yawns quickly, quickly covering with her hand.

"Yawning at work? That doesn't sound like you, Jeong."

Momo teases. There is a pit of shame in her stomach, but Jeong is too tired to recognize it.

"Nayeon didn't get much sleep. He was craving and the babies were kicking all the time."

This is certainly wearing her down, but that's not all. The appearance of this new pack doesn't help. Jeongyeon has given them permission to remain on his territory, but there is an internal power struggle going on between them. The werewolf knows the behavior of younger wolves.

"Jeong, I need you bowling, quick!" Nayeon speaks hurriedly, and Jeongyeon's stomach drops as she drops her phone.

"Go ahead Jeong, your wife needs you." Momo speaks smiling, patting his shoulder.

Jeongyeon runs to the bowling alley across the street. She nearly broke the doors behind her when she desperately entered the establishment.

"I'm here! What–?"

She finds Nayeon sitting calmly in a hallway chair. The pregnant woman lifts her feet almost an inch off the floor.

"There you are. Are you going to tie my shoes again? I can't reach my shoelaces."

Nayeon says cutely, making the alpha's heart clench with such cuteness. Jeongyeon feels his jaw drop, pointing to three of his friends across the room.

"Mina could have done that. Or Dahyun in the snap of her fingers. Even Sana would tie them up, and she's the child of a demon, literally."

"I would gladly tie them up." Sana says smiling, wrapping her arms around Dahyun's waist. 

Nayeon pouts and Jeongyeon rolls his eyes, giving a teasing smile as he ties his wife's shoelaces anyway.

"Is that why you called me?" 

"Okay, fine. I was trying to save Momo." Nayeon rolls his eyes and stretches his arms above his head.

"What? Momo is fine."

Jeongyeon stares at her, confusion stamping his sun-kissed face.

"Exactly. You have to let her start doing her thing."

Nayeon frowns, running his hand over Jeongyeon's smooth cheek.

"Trust her to take over and let it go." She complements. "Leave the job and take care of me." The pregnant woman says with a cute pout, like a dog begging for some attention.

Jeongyeon's eyebrows rise.

"Speaking of putting work aside for a bit. When do you plan on saying goodbye to bowling?"

Jeongyeon asks and this time Nayeon's eyebrows rise. The pregnant woman has been working in this bowling alley since her adolescence, she would never give up her job.

"Oh come on, this is different. Dahyun is useless without me!" Nayeon throws her arms up, and she still has the nerve to insult the woman who hired her.

Dahyun's voice is low over the glass she's cleaning, already behind the counter and without Sana to stand in her way.

"He can't even tie his own shoes…"

"What did you say young lady?" The pregnant woman looks at her with hatred.

Before Nayeon's gaze makes a hole in Dahyun's head, Jeong stands up and wraps his arms around her, placing a hand on her big belly.

"Don't kill Dahyun, please, she's still a wish-fulfilling genius." Nayeon sighs, making Jeongyeon relax. "So, how are the babies doing?

"Can you feel them?" The pregnant woman asks, smiling like a ray of sunlight. 

The feeling of small feet kicking inside still shocks Jeongyeon. Nayeon laughs at Jeongyeon's expression until the alpha starts laughing along with her.

Jeongyeon can't wait to meet her cubs.

"Are you sure there are only two of them in there? Maybe there's one hiding." Sana says from across the bowling alley, turning on the arcade machines.

"Are you trying to drive me crazy, Minatozaki?" Jeongyeon asks sullenly.

"Just because it's fun, and also because I love you."Sana says smiling affectionately, making a heart with her hands.

"I never thought I would hear this from a daughter of Satan." Jeongyeon looks at Sana, who wasn't even paying attention to what was going on, the demon was trying to get Dahyun's lamp, which was on the last shelf of the bar.

"There were only two heartbeats, each sonogram proved it. Though they confused me for a while." Mina says with a sigh, removing her sunglasses and revealing her red eyes, the color of the blood she drinks daily. 

Definitely, Mina was the only vampire who would become friends with a werewolf.

"All two hearts are beating in sync. It just felt like one." The vampire concluded, Nayeon smiled looking at her belly.

"Yeah, but I knew. The moment I found out I was pregnant, I knew I couldn't just be a baby." Nayeon smiled proudly, Jeongyeon knew too. 

The sounds of beating hearts were the only thing that soothed the Alpha's mind. The sheriff shakes her head, hoping it will allay her weariness. She needs to focus. Starting at 3...2...1

Jeongyeon senses something, a shift in balance in the city. Something has just changed. A power shift. Near the lake…

"I need to go. There's something going on with the new pack."

Thanks to a pact that Jeongyeon had made with the land, she is able to feel every change that takes place within her territory, every inhuman or metamorphic transformation that requires magical power.

"I know, I can feel it too. I'm coming with you." Nayeon speaks seriously, already getting up with some difficulty.

"No Nabongs, please." The alpha can't stop the appeal from coming out.

"Jeongyeon, I'm tired of being left out of the action. I want to get up and do something!" The pregnant werewolf huffed angrily, reaching out to Jeongyeon. "Now help me."

If she goes with Jeongyeon, she would be putting his wife and children in harm's way. But Nayeon wants to go too, and if Jeongyeon leaves her bowling, what are the chances she'll go into labor?

Jeongyeon lets out a sigh, she looks at Mina who shrugs, then she wavers in her decision. Sana and Dahyun look fearfully at the determined pregnant woman, the couple would never dare to opine on Nayeon's decision.

"Okay. I'll text Tzuyu and Jihyo to meet us there. If things start to look a little more dangerous, they'll get you out of there."

Jihyo and Tzuyu were also werewolves, both part of Jeongyeon and Nayeon's pack. Jihyo, as the eldest in the pack, won the Yoo couple's trust and earned the right to be godmothers to the babies.

"You did it, Alpha." Nayeon smiled and Jeongyeon rolled his eyes.

When they meet at the lake, Jihyo almost immediately kneels down, cooing into Nayeon's belly. 

He barely greets them anymore. Babies are most important to Jihyo.

"Hellooo, I'm so excited to meet you! Anytime! Feel free to leave absolutely anytime!"

 Jihyo smiles at the pregnant belly. If you were in your werewolf version your tail would certainly be wagging. Nayeon gives her a gummy smile, glad her best friend is excited about the babies.

"I told you before Hyo, this won't work. They still don't understand words." nayeon rolled his eyes

"A woman can dream." The future godmother speaks irritated.

The big-eyed woman puts her hand on Nayeon's stomach, feeling where the babies rest. 

Jeongyeon smiles fondly, she hears the rustle of leaves in the distance, when she finds it's actually Tzuyu she relaxes. Soon she finds herself loving the sight of how Tzuyu gazed lovingly at Jihyo, who was almost hugging Nayeon's stomach. 

As much as Tzuyu was hidden behind the trees, Jeong could still hear her heart beating fast. As a caring alpha, she knew Tzuyu wanted this with his girlfriend.

But there was something more to Tzuyu's bodily expression, she was hesitating to approach. Fortunately it was just the younger girl's insistence of protection acting.

Whenever anyone outside the pack touches Nayeon's belly, Jeong is ready to break their hand.

But as long as it's Jihyo or Tzuyu, it's cute.

Jihyo frowns at the unborn babies.

"Aren't you even going to kick your aunt Jihyo?" A pout forms on her face.

"Oh wait a sec." 

Jihyo tilts her head from side to side, waiting impatiently until her eyes widen in surprise.

"There you are!" Park screams happily.

Tzuyu's laugh echoes through the trees.

"All she says is she wants to take them hunting."

"It will take a few years, but you will have some fierce apprentices on your hands, Jihyo." Nayeon says smiling and Jihyo jumps excitedly.

"I'm counting on it. I love a challenge." She raises her fist out of the air and Tzuyu catches her in a passionate wolf hug.

The family bubble is burst by a familiar scent, the same one that stirred the alpha's senses in bowling. The guy approaches, claws ready and glinting in the sun… A hot-headed young alpha in charge of everything. 

He really won the fight.

"Yoo Jeongyeon. I was awaiting your arrival." The younger wolf says, already transformed, his ears on top of his head.

His voice dripped with unspoken warning. A child newly removed from an older alpha is now face to face with the alpha of that territory. This could get worse quickly, and Jeongyeon won't let his family get hurt. 

Jeongyeon is convinced that Nayeon is fine, she knows Jihyo and Tzuyu are there for her. But suddenly, Nayeon leans forward, clutching his stomach with a moan of pain.

"Nayeon? Love? Talk to me!"

"I… I think–! my water broke!"
