the painting is strange to see it...

The man in the painting

He point to it on a narrow strip of wall between the two bookcases.

It was shrouded in shadows where no one could see it.  __ had always recognized as a kind of collector of art. He had valuable drawings by great masters and eighteenth-century watercolors, all achieved, as he once told me for that modest amount when I was young.
I went to the painting that was pointing at me.
-Turn on the lamp there.
Although it was a somewhat dark oil painting, it looked pretty good.
It was a scene of a large crowd walking and walking one after another.

Everyone was smiling and playing. But from the shadow you could see a masked man hiding in a dark corner where no one can see him and he had a disturbing expression that was watching you without you noticing.

When I saw it, it gave me a feeling of chill and terror that that masked man did.
¿Was it strange to me that no one could see him or feel that he was in that dark corner?
