004: Neighbors
Like Stars In the Sky
Neighbors...
Doyeon had somehow gotten to the weekend. The week had been full of little remarks by her seatmates, mainly Jaemin. But it was finally Saturday. With that being said, Doyeon thought she'd be able to sleep in...but the sound of the piano flittered into her dream, then slowly started waking her. When she was awake enough to sit up, she turned her head every which way, looking for the cause of her disturbance. As she approached the doors to her balcony, it got louder and louder. Doyeon opened one of the doors and walked out. As soon as she did, she caught sight of her seatmate and neighbor. He looked up at the sound of her door opening, and seemed just as shocked.
"That's your room?" He asked loudly. For the first time Doyeon realized how close her balcony went to the neighboring house. "Yeah," she was convinced that room was for storage since she'd yet to have seen anyone in it. "Is that your room?" She asked. Jaemin shook his head, standing up and walking to the window. "It's the music room." He leaned his head out of the window, craning his neck so he could get a better look behind Doyeon. "Your room looks nice, I haven't been in there in ages." His smile seemed almost wistful. Which caused her forehead to crease. He's been in here? "Why are you playing so early?" She asked, any form of curiosity leaving her voice as annoyance took over. "Because, I need to practice." A mischievous smile took over his lips, "I was actually thinking of taking a break, care to join me?"
She immediately shook her head, "Nope, I'm good." His face fell into a pout. "Oh, come on! Have you even seen the town at all?" Doyeon twisted her lips, "No..." she wasn't going to cave so quickly though, "But that doesn't mean I want to see it with you." He rolled his eyes, "You know you aren't a very friendly person, but I'm sure we can get past that." This time it was Doyeon's turn to roll her eyes, "I'm going back to bed." She turned to leave but stopped when he spoke, "Come on! Just let me be a good neighbor and show you around." He told her, she noticed for the first time how pleading his voice sounded. She had absolutely no idea why he wanted to show her around town. And she still had half a mind to tell him to buzz off...but the other half of her did want to see the town. "Fine." She said begrudgingly, "Give me ten minutes." With that, she went into her room, slamming the door behind her.

Jaemin stood happily outside of his house, waiting for his neighbors arrival. She didn't even realize how big of a favor she was doing him. In all honesty, he didn't feel like walking around town, he was already drained from his argument with his parents this morning. But, anything sounded better than practicing the piano. And, he genuinely wanted to show his neighbor around. She seemed rather rough around the edges, but he had a feeling she was nice once you got to know her. She had a comfortable air about her, from the second he spoke to her he didn't feel like he had to be anything. Gosh, my own thoughts sound stupid. He chided.
The sound of his neighbors front door drew his attention. A smile graced his lips as he pushed himself off of the wall, walking out to the sidewalk. Doyeon met him halfway, "Where are we going?" She asked, raking a hand through her messy hair. She had on a pair of
