Three Years Later.

Hyorin's Secret [Hiatus]

Saengil chukha hamnida Dongwoo-shhi!!!!! Everyone screamed as confetti fell from the ceiling and the sounds of champagne bottles being opened.

Gomawo, Dongwoo replied as he gave a slight smile.

All his friends and family gathered at OASiS the newest nightclub in Seoul to celebrate Dongwoo’s birthday. After wishing Dongwoo a happy birthday everyone returned to the dance floor.

“Hyung,” Woohyun said, “What’s bothering you?”

“Mwo, nothing I’m fine, seriously I’m fine don’t worry about me and go have fun.”

“You sure everything’s okay?”

“Of course go, go have fun.” Dongwoo said as he pushed Woohyun away from the bar.

Woohyun returned to his friends, or Infinite as everyone called them.

“Guys I think something seriously wrong with him,” Woohyun said upon return.

“Must be thinking about Hyorin again,” Sunggyu said as he swallowed his drink in one mouthful.

“Again,” L asked, “It’s been almost 3 years now since you know she supposedly died you know.”

“Yah, be quiet, you guys know we promised her we wouldn’t say anything to him.” Sungjong whispered.

“Yea, but just look at him,” Hoya added.

Infinite who were sitting in the lounge area on the second floor of the club all turned to the bar where Dongwoo was sitting alone drinking by himself.

“What are you guys looking at?” Sungyeol asked as he finally came back from the dance floor.

“Look,” Sunggyu said as he pointed towards the bar.

“Aish, when is he going to get over her, I mean it’s been 2, no wait 3 years now. And when the hell is she going to tell him.”

“Yah!”

Sungyeol felt someone smack him on his head.

“Wae?” Sungyeol whined as he spun around clutching his head, “Oh Hyorin-shhi what are you doing here?”

All of them turned to see Hyorin standing there looking at Dongwoo.

-flashack-

“Promise me you guys won’t say a thing to him.” Hyorin pleaded to them. “Please.”

All of them couldn’t believe what she was asking them to do.

“After having to deal with a heartbroken Dongwoo, suddenly we get a text from an allegedly dead Hyorin asking us to come alone. And now you’re asking us to lie to him” Sunggyu said annoyed by her request.

“Wae?’ they all kept asking her.

“I don’t want to lie to him Hyorin. It’ll only hurt him more.” Sungjong said looking at the ground.

“Please just don’t tell him, he’s better off without me in his life. Would you be able to live happily knowing that the girl you’re with has been lying to you all along and worse than that tried to kill you?” Hyorin asked them as a last resort to keep her promise.

No one was able to answer her they just looked around at one another, baffled by her question.

“Fine,” Sunggyu said, “But one of these days he’ll eventually find out you know.”

“Thanks,” Hyorin said showing a small smile before she disappeared into the night.

-end of fb-

You know he’s been that way ever since you left, always alone and quiet.” Sunggyu said.

Hyorin turned to Sunggyu but he was looking at Dongwoo. The look in his eyes pained her; they were filled with sadness and uneasiness. Hyorin couldn’t help but think everything was her fault, she felt guilty at what she had done to Dongwoo.

As they partied into the night Hyorin remained in the lounge watching over Dongwoo silently, who hadn’t moved since they got there. He continued to sit alone drink after drink. As he sat there the drinks started to take effect after a little while later Dongwoo began to stumble around. Seeing this Hyorin jumped up from her seat. But every time she would get up something in the back of her mind kept stopping her. The other just continued to watch the two repeatedly doing the same thing.

“Look at these two,” Sungyeol said, “he can’t forget her, but she wants him to forget her, but she just can’t forget him as well. They both can’t forget one another. Ohhhh this is making my head hurt.”

Sungjong couldn’t help but laugh at how dumb his hyung was sounding.

“Babo,” he added, “hey where did they go?”

Both Dongwoo and Hyorin were nowhere to be found. He was no longer at the bar and she was no longer sitting next to them.

Before she knew it she was on the bottom floor closer to Dongwoo than she had expected to be. She watched as Dongwoo pushed and stumbled his way through the enormous crowd. Dongwoo suddenly fell forward but before Hyorin could catch him Woohyun and Sunngyu appeared. The eight of them made their way outside.  L stood curb side hailing a cab while the others catered to Dongwoo. Hyorin though kept her distance as she looked on.

“Hyorin-shhi why don’t you take him home tonight.” Sunggyu insisted.

Hyorin was caught off guard, “Mwo, ani I can’t do that. What if he wakes up and sees me?”

“C’mon he’s drunk he won’t notice.” Sunggyu knew that although she was saying no, deep inside she didn’t want anything more than to help him. The way she looked at him, she was clearly feeling guilty, although her actions didn’t show it she was more worried than anyone.

“I don’t know.” She said.

“Cabs here,” Woohyun announced to the others.

Slowly L and Hoya put Dongwoo into the backseat of the cab. Sunngyu walked over to the driver’s door told him the address and handed him some money. Everyone began to back away from the cab.

“Yah isn’t anyone going to go with him,” Hyorin protested. “He’s clearly drunk and I don’t think it’s safe to leave him all alone.”

The others looked at one another and a grin grew across their faces.

“What,” Hyorin asked confused.

“Of course we wouldn’t do that, that’s why you’re going with him,” said Sungjong.

“Mwo?!”

But before Hyorin could object Sungyeol had already pushed her into the cab.

“Take care,” he said as he closed the door. And immediately the driver took off. Hyorin didn’t know what to do. She sat there staring at Dongwoo defeated.

The guys sent them off waving and smiling.

“Hyung are you sure everything’s going to be okay between those two?”

“Don’t worry Sungjong she’d never leave him alone, when he’s as drunk as he is.” Sunggyu responded undoubtedly pleased with what they’d just done.

“Yea but what if he sobers up and see her, and then he’ll really know Hyorin lied to him. What’ll happen then?” Woohyun asked.

Everyone turned to Sunggyu.

“It was only a matter of time for that to happen; I guess we’ll find out soon.” He answered walking back to the club. Sungyeol, Woohyun, Hoya, and L soon followed.

“We’ll find out soon.” Sungjong whispered as he watched the cab disappear into the dark.  “Hey wait for me.”

Meanwhile in the cab Hyorin sat at one end staring out the window lost in thought. What was she going to do, what if he sees her, what if everything is revealed?

“You two look good together, a really nice couple.” The driver said suddenly which startled Hyorin.

“Umm … thank you.” Hyorin said. “But were not a couple,” she whispered to herself somewhat disappointed fidgeting with her hands.  It was now quiet again. No one said a word and the drive was very calm when suddenly the cab went over the speed bump a little too quickly, and Dongwoo’s head fell onto Hyorin’s shoulder.

“Sorry about that.” The cab driver said embarrassed by what he had just done.

“Ani, it’s okay.”

She let out one of signature smile, she liked having Dongwoo close to her she’d miss this feeling of being happy with him. As Hyorin stared at Dongwoo sleeping, she brushed his hair back out of his face when  he began to move. Hyorin was beginning to panic what if he wakes up.

-Hyorins POV-

Ahhhh babo I knew this was a bad idea. After everything I’m still weak I keep letting my emotions get the best of me. Why did you mess with him dummy he was sleeping perfectly fine? Hyorin didn’t know how to react so she sat there frozen as Dongwoo moved around continuously.

When unexpectedly “Ahhhh, hyung what the hell this pillow is too hard.” Unaware that he was talking about Hyorin’s shoulder. He then sat upright and began leaning towards Hyorin. Immediately both her hands rose into the air. Dongwoo’s body fell forward and now his head was rested in Hyorin’s lap.

“Much better.” He mumbled before falling back to sleep.

Hyorin smiled and let out a quiet laugh, “Babo, still talks in his sleep.” Then she warapped her arms around him.

The rest of the ride was a quiet one. Dongwoo remained asleep in Hyorin’s lap and she stared out the window enjoying the beautiful view of Seoul’s nightlife.

After what seemed to be forever they’d finally arrived at his place.

“Are you sure you don’t need any help carrying him inside?” the man asked her.

“Ani I got it,” she said after thanking him.

After making her way up to the door Hyorin gently placed Dongwoo’s body on the wall.

“Dammit I forgot to ask Sunggyu for the pass code.”

Hyorin tried and tried but nothing was working. She tried his birthday, his mothers birthday, his id numbers, the date he met Infinite, everything and after that she started to randomly input numbers.

“ what is it,” now getting irritated. “Wait … it can’t be right?” she said as she turned to Dongwoo who was still asleep.

-end of pov-

0111.

The door began to make weir noises and then *click* it opened.

Hyorin was both extremely touched and devastated the passcode for his apartment has been the same for 3 years, He’d kept the passcode as her birthday.

After finally being able to get into the apartment Hyorin led Dongwoo to his bedroom where she gently tucked him into bed. After helping Dongwoo into bed Hyorin curiosity got the best of her and she started looking around the apartment. It was still the same since the last time she had seen it. All the furniture, the pictures, pottery, everything was still in the exact same spot. Even after 3 years Dongwoo had still kept her belongings. She thought that he’d throw them out by now but he hadn’t. A smile ran across her face as she sat there looking through the photo albums. The pictures had brought back all the beautiful memories they shared together. Everyone was so close and happy back then and now things were completely different. Hyorin let out a long sigh knowing that she would have to leave pretty soon but before she had to go she wanted to do one last thing for him. She didn’t even realize it but Hyorin had spent hours at Dongwoo’s apartment reminiscing about the past.

Since sunrise was in a couple of hours she decided that she’d make breakfast for him. It was amazing how Hyorin had still remembered where everything was. She tried her best to remain as quiet as possible while cooking. After finishing up she plated and set the food on the table. She looked at her watch and it was already 8AM, if Dongwoo was still the same as he’d always been he’d be getting up soon. With that in mind Hyorin quickly changed out of the apron made sure everything was off and before leaving walked into Dongwoo’s room and gave a light peck on the lips.

“Goodye, Dongwoo-shhi.” She whispered lightly brushing his face and with that she got up to leave.

Before leaving Hyorin looked around one last time and made her way.

Hyorin was now at the front door with her hand on the knob she was beginning to regret coming her in the first place. It was making it harder for her to leave. With her emotions bottled up inside Hyorin decided to ignore them with that she opened the door and took a step forward.

“YAH, Hyorin!!! You think it’s okay to come and go as you please?! You think I’m going to do nothing and let you walk right out of my life a second time?”

An awkward silence filled the air. Hyorin was dumbfounded, it had felt as if her heart stopped and she was frozen in place. She didn’t know what to do, or what to say.

“How long? ….  How long were you going to keep running?”

Hyorin’s hand slipped from the door knob and hung lifelessly next to her tiny body.  It’s was over, no more hiding. It was time to face the truth.

-Hyorin’s POV-

“YAH, Hyorin!!! You think it’s okay to come and go as you please?! You think I’m going to do nothing and let you walk right out of my life a second time?”

I heard. No it can’t be.

“How long? ….  How long were you going to keep running?”

My mind went blank and my body went limp. Everything that is happening is so surreal. It was really him, his sweet melodious voice that I’ve been longing to hear.

-end of pov-

Hyorin spun around to see Dongwoo standing there with tears b his eyes. Obviously hurt by what she had done.

“Annyeong Dongwoo.” …………..

*Hey everyone hopefully this chapter wasn’t too boring, since this was originally a one-shot I haven’t the slightest clue where this story is headed lol. I’m not really good with writing a suspenseful cliffhanger so this will have to do. Maybe for the next chapter I’ll go back in time & reveal how these two met??? IDK as of now but I hope you guys like it so far.

p.s cmnts are appreciated. (:
