It all started with a lie. 

Lee Jieun wanted to become a singer, a lifelong dream that she nursed since she could remember. When she thought that she was close to fulfilling it, her world came crashing down. Her father had arranged for her to get married to the son of his long time business partner. She didn't want to. She had her dreams within reach and marrying meant she would have to give up on it. Her grandmother, who was the only she had shared about her dreams knew of the situation her granddaughter had landed in because of her son. Not wanting her granddaughter to give up what she loved, she came up with a lie. She told everyone that Jieun had a boyfriend whom she loved and wanted to marry. She had hoped that this lie would make her son break off the alliance and give Jieun a chance to reach her dreams. But little did she know that her plan would backfire. Jieun's father wanted to meet her boyfriend. 

How could she bring someone who didn't exist? 

It was then that her bestfriend Jiyeon came up with a plan to get a fake boyfriend. But where would they find a willing man to play the part? With no one to ask, Jiyeon decided to send her own boyfriend Kwon Jiyong as Jieun's fake boyfriend. 

That was how everything started. 

Their plan was simple. 

Jieun would take her fake boyfriend Jiyong and break off the arranged marriage after which she would come back to Seoul and then pursue her dreams and then after fulfilling her dreams, would tell them that she and Jiyong broke up. 

Sounded simple, right?

But they didn't know that one lie that her grandmother had started would entangle their lives into the web of lies.
