B— She’s fine.
A— Oh, yeah? That’s really great, great to hear. Mine’s good too. Yeah. She’s doing good. And your dad? Is he still making Pancake breakfast on Sundays?
B— He hasn’t done that in a while.
A— Oh. Well your brother, he’s still in Med school right? How’s that been for him? Med school was the hardest thing I ever went through, but your brother’s always been pretty smart so I’m sure he—
B— Yeah, he’s fine.
A— Ah, that’s really great. Man I’ve missed you all a lot more than I thought I would. I mean you just can’t find the same warmth where I’m living now. Hey do you remember when the three of us—
B— Please stop.
A— Huh?
B— Can you stop?… please.
A— Oh, umm.
B— I just— I don’t think I can do this.
A— Do what?
B— This. Small talk with you like nothing ever happened.
A— Oh. I’m sorry. Do you... think we should order?
B— No, I— No I don’t want to order. I think I should leave. I think I need to—
A— Wait, please don’t. Please don’t leave yet. Just stay a little longer. I’ll get you whatever you want, I promise.
