1. What is the theme/genre?

The genre should be surrounding psychological thriller, mystery, horror, or psychological. The theme is "Tokyo smoke". You can interpret this freely as you write. The story can be written on any platform as long as you provide a link and abide by the other rules. There is no restriction toward the rating (m, general, etc.) Just provide any trigger warnings that are necessary.

 

2. Does the story have to be horror?

No, but the theme is not fluff. There should be some unsettling aspects.

 

3. Does the setting have to be in Japan?

The setting can be Japan, but it doesn't have to be. A Japanese aesthetic is optimal.

 

4. What is the minimum/maximum word count?

The minimum word count is 5,000 words. The maximum word count is 50,000 words.

Hello~ I'm curious if the deadline (March 31st) is the entry deadline, or is that the deadline that entries need to be completed by?
I'm just wondering because if I have a little over a month to write an entry, than I need to figure that into the length (as in how many chapters) of my story ^^.

Second: Are entries open until an specific time or until the deadline?
Third: Is it okay if I follow the tumblr with a semi-defunct tumblr?

Is the theme "Tokyo Smoke"? Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not familiar with it.
Does it mean it has to be set in Japan?
As I understand, any genre and characters are fine, but it needs to be related to the theme, right?

So when someone wants to check in, see the prompts, and join the contes, do we have to join the discord? And what are the rules on maximum word count, preferred characters, favorite genres etc?
