Special Announcement
The Mayor and Her WifeOn 9 July 2020, the Mayor of Seoul committed suicide when he was involved in a scandal.
He was the same Mayor I am writing in this story.
His death has triggered me to re-activate as well as de-activate this story.
Re-activate because, after the prologue, I didn't know how to continue. I dropped the original plot: Eunbi being smeared, scandalized, and framed by political opponents, the rest of IZ*ONE was mobilized to save her. I wasn't sure how to make it into a story since at that time, IZ*ONE was the victim and not the defendant of the vote-rigging crime. The news of Mr. Park's death half a year later prompted me, in a way, to re-activate the story. As one of his admirers, I was too confused and devastated that I need to search for an answer – not the reason why he has decided to take his own life, but how to deal with his death, and how to go on – or how Eunbi should deal with her mentor's death and go on.
The new plot was like this:
The Future Party was thrown into chaos when Mayor Park took his life. They started a nerve-racking debate on who is going to run for the by-election. Most members favored Eunbi, not because she has been groomed by Mr. Park for the past 7 years, but because she is female. Mr. Park has been an activist who fought for women's rights when he was young. Ironically, he committed suicide because he was accused of ual harassment. The conclusion is that no male from the Future Party would be trusted in the by-election. Skeptics doubted this because Eunbi's ual preference is female too (so they assume every lesbian will ually harass other female). In conclusion, the party majority agreed that on the one hand, Eunbi is the most experienced and strongest candidate, if the tide is on their side, they will surely win the election. On the other hand, however, the by-election looks un-optimistic for the Future Party, then, Eunbi, who is young, female, ual minority will be the best candidate t
