Let the Heart Go On
Description
Professor Miyawaki Sakura met her MFA student Lee Chaeyeon, a renowned social designer in Korea when she was 52. Chaeyeon was 28 when she became the protégé of Miyawaki, one of the most respected art professors in Asia.
To her, she represents the hope for the future; to her, it is the innocent child within the maestro's brain that has attracted her. She sees her as her most valuable companion, she sees her as the love of her life.
Time is a great deceiver and age cannot define love. But the heart cannot go on until its owner let go of her haunted past.
Foreword
This is the sequel of The Square and the Bullet. This is aimed to be a Kkuchaen spin-off.
S&B has been one of my best written and favorite stories and was completed one year ago. It was a conversion of an original story that I could never finish. Thus, I was not aware that according to readers, it was a "Kkubi turned Kkuchaen story".
The comment inspired me though – why don't I write a sequel to this and "officially" turn it into a Kkuchaen AU? At the end of S&B, Chaeyeon somehow managed to confess to Sakura, but Sakura's response was ambiguous. I deliberately left it that way because changing ships in fanfic is suicidal.
For this reason, I started a poll to collect readers' opinions. Until I am writing this "Forward", I got 26 votes and to my surprised, the result was quite a tie. Among the 26 votes, 22 said they want a sequel, with 4 votes against the idea. Among the 22 that wanted a sequel, 14 wanted the sequel to be a continuation of S&B, while 8 wanted a separate story. That means most readers wanted a sequel, but at the same time, 12 (8+4) voters wanted to keep the original story intact.
To solve the conflict, I made a bonus chapter for S&B so the whole story now looks more complete. However, by not disturbing the original contents, I am starting this new fic here to continue to develop the unconventional Kkuchaen relationship (a trans-generational love story) in a more conventional way (meaning it will be less political and more light-hearted, fluff and sweet).
I hope you will continue to support Prof. Miyawaki and her protégé to start their new lives. Please subscribe and give me more comments. Thank you and enjoy!
