CHAPTER 10: THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM
Who Are You?***Jina’s POV***
I miss this place so much!
When was the last time I was here?
Does Sunnie hate me?
I’m sure she is, I haven’t contacted her since I left.
Should I go in or not?
Should I act as nothing happened?
Suddenly, the door of Happy Café opened.
YS: Why are you here?
I was distracted from my thoughts, looked up to see a woman glaring at me.
J: Sunnie…
YS: Don’t call me by that name! What are you doing here?
I deserve this; It’s my fault.
I looked down, not knowing what to say or do.
YS: Aren’t you going to answer me?
J: I’m sorry…
Still looking down, I kept on apologizing to her.
YS: Sorry for what? You suddenly left, no text or calls at all.
J: I didn’t mean to leave; I love this place, and you know that.
I sniffed as I’m close to tears.
How could I be stupid to show my face here?
I was about to say something when I heard someone laugh.
MB: Baby, that’s enough acting. Our plan worked, and she’s crying already.
I looked up to see Moonbyul-Eonni hugging Sunnie from behind.
YS: Was I good? I was convincing, right?
Moonbyul-Eonni released Sunnie and kissed her left cheek.
MB: Yes, that’s my Yeba.
YS: Stop it… You’re making me embarrassed.
While they were laughing, I raise my right hand as I was confused about what was happening at the moment.
J: Sorry… What’s going on here?
They stopped laughing and then smiled at me.
Sunnie suddenly hugged me tightly.
YS: You’re so cute, Jinnie!
I looked at them confusingly.
MB: Well… we saw you walking back and forth, and you’re taking too long to go inside. And it’s been so long since you’ve been here, we planned to prank you.
YS: It was my revenge for not contacting or visiting me.
I looked at them both and then cried suddenly.
J: I… *hiccup* thought you’re… *hiccup* mad at me…
Sunnie wiped the tears on my face and hugged me again.
YS: I am mad, but not that much… You’re still my best friend, my genie.
I hugged her as well while crying.
MB: We better go inside; we’re blocking the entrance.
After a few minutes, I’ve calmed down and drank the hot chocolate made by Moonbyul-Eonni.
YS: I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make you cry that much.
Sunnie held both of my hands.
J: Sunnie-yah, I’m okay now… I deserved it anyway, I left you alone here.
YS: At least now, you’ve got time to visit me.
I smiled at her and then looked at the smiling Moonbyul-Eonni.
J: By the way… Why are you here, Eonni?
MB: I’m working here as a part-time barista.
J: Since when?
YS: Since you left me alone.
I didn’t notice Sunnie left my side and went around the counter.
YS: Few days after you left, I was having a hard time handling the orders alone. But then, someone came and lent me a hand. Since then, she worked here with me.
Sunnie hugged Eonni’s left arm.
J: I’m sorry for leaving suddenly.
YS: It’s already in the past; let’s just leave it there.
J: I heard Eonni calling you Baby… And Yeba, am I right? What was that about?
Eonni looked at Sunnie, like asking for permission.
MB: The day I met her, I can’t help but fall in love with the way she smiles while struggling with the orders alone. I lent her a hand, and I got to know her since then. I was afraid to lose my chance, so I didn’t waste any time and asked her out. She agreed to be my girlfriend after our first date, which is three days a
