Chapter 1: My Babysitter (Lia x Yuna) 

Yuna wakes up to the blaring ring of her alarm, the sixteen year old swinging her arm to the table to slam down the off button. Screaming internally, Yuna let’s out the longest sigh before willing herself to get out of her comfy bed. Flinging her long legs off the bed, Yuna let’s out a groan as she grabs a set of oversized shirt and shorts before changing out. 

Eyes groggy and back aching from the good night’s sleep, Yuna blinked her tiredness away, the smell of smoked bacon entered her room, the sixteen year old’s eyes widening in surprise before booting out of her room, plopping down on the kitchen counter, swinging her legs as she peered over her mom’s shoulders. 

“Mom, what are we having for breakfast?” 

“Nothing.” 

Yuna scrunched up her brows in confusion. How could her mother wake her up with such a beautiful smell and then say it’s not for her? Who could it be for anyway.

“Oh wait-”

Yuna’s eyes lit up. That’s more like it mom! Now quickly tell me it’s mine so i can gobble it up. 

“We have cereal in the cupboard and i bought milk yesterday, you can eat them if you want. 

Yuna’s frown deepened, “Then who is this meal for anyway?!” 

Her mom scooped up the three pieces of bacon onto a plate, which already had a slice of bread cut into two triangular ones, and a side of scrambled eggs. 

Yuna glared at that plate of morning goodness, how dare her mom cook her favourite meal and say it’s not for her. 

“It’s for Lia, your babysitter.” 

“What the -”

“Language young lady!!” Yuna’s mom whipped around, casting a sharp glare at Yuna, making the teenage reel back at her mom’s loud voice. Clicking her tongue, Yuna hopped off the counter, walking past her mom and stealing a piece of bacon from the plate. “Why do i even need a babysitter can i also politely ask?” Yuna said while chewing on her bacon, her sarcastic tone evident. 

Her mother just ignored her rude tone, opening the fridge to pour out a glass of orange juice. “Your father and I have a business trip to attend out of the sudden. So we have to leave this afternoon, and since we can barely trust you to wake up on time, i found a babysitter for you to take care of you for the next seven days.” 

Yuna’s bacon fell out of , the said girl staring at her mom in disbelief. “Are you serious.” 

Just as she said that, a series of knocks caught their attention, the sudden bright smile on her mother’s face giving Yuna a wave of uneasiness. Her mother opened the door, welcoming the stranger with a warm hug. 

Yuna scowled, picking up her bacon that fell on the kitchen counter and shoving it in . 

Why did her mom even get her a babysitter? She’s sixteen, well in a few months time, but that’s besides the point! She is completely able to take care of herself, and she doesn’t need any babysitter to- 

Yuna’s eyes widened as her mom brought the stranger in, the teenager almost choking on her bacon at how flawless the girl was, from her sharp eyes and that perfect winged eyeliner, to her sharp jawline, to that exposed neck and collarbone- damn. Yuna bites on her lower lip as her eyes scanned the girl in front of her, only snapping out of it when her mother speaks. 

“Stop glaring at her like that, don’t be rude.” 

Yuna quickly blinks away her strong gaze, her mother thankfully mistaking her hormonal actions for one of irritation and judgement at her new babysitter, which Yuna doesn’t seem to mind too much. 

“Hi i’m Lia, nice to meet you.” 

Yuna gulps as the stranger reaches out to shake the her hand, the greeting a little too hostile for her liking. Yuna felt her breath hitch when she saw Lia’s blindingly charming smile, so the teen quickly retracted her hand and stepped into the kitchen, leaving her mother to tend to Lia. 

Gripping the edges of the kitchen counter, Yuna lets out a shaky breath, bringing up her hand to slap her cheek gently. “Get a grip Yuna, she’s just like any other cute girl out there, no worries, nothing to freak out about.” 

Grabbing the plate with shaky hands, Yuna walked towards Lia and her mom, placing the plate down noisily on the marble table, gaining the attention of her mother and the oh so dreamy Lia who’s big doe eyes stared at her in confusion. “This is for you.” 

“Oh! You made this?” Lia asks, eyes sparkling in excitement. 

Just as Yuna was about to deny, her mother intervened, “Yuna was afraid she’d give you a bad impression so she made you breakfast! She can be a little feisty and give off a bad first impression but I'm sure she’ll behave this coming week!” 

Lia giggles, picking up a slice of bacon with her fingers, bringing it to her lips and taking a bite. Something clicked in Yuna, the girl booting out of her seat to fetch Lia a fork, before extending it out to her. “Thanks,” Lia smiles, gently grabbing the fork from Yuna, their fingers brushing slightly during the interaction, and Yuna really thinks she was going to pass out. 

Yuna’s mother excused herself, saying how she had to wake her husband up and it was almost time for them to make their way to the airport. This left Yuna and Lia in the living room, the teenager having an internal panic after realising her mom had abandoned her to die in this angel’s arms. 

“So… Yuna,” the girl trailed off, Yuna immediately whipping her head to Lia, her heart racing at the girl’s smoky gaze, and all Yuna wanted to do was connect their lips right there and then. “Ye-yes?” Lia smirks, bringing up yet another piece of bacon up to her lip
