Memory Box
The FangirlLiving alone in a foreign country was scary. And also tiring.
After officially divorce from my ex-husband, I flew right away to Paris. I’d never been this brave in my whole life, but I decided that I needed some space away from everyone. So I quitted my job, sold my apartment in Seoul and am trying to start a new life in this foreign city.
I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I was willing to try.
So here I was, in my new apartment in Paris, moving around the furniture alone. By the end of the day, a big satisfied smile formed in my lips. Despite the soreness in my body, this place was definitely worth every penny of my divorce settlement money. I got an apartment with a nice balcony and Seine River as the view.
I plopped down on the carpeted floor of my living room. There were still a few unopened boxes lying there. I put my laptop on the coffee table and turned it on. Paris was really a nice place. I got so many inspirations for my next book here. So I always put my laptop on so I could write whenever I got a new idea.
I pulled one of the boxes nearest to me. The box was quite dusty like it hadn’t been opened for years. I read the label on the box.
My breath hitched.
