After class..

Seohyun was showing Jaejoong around the school campus.

This is the gym and that is the school’s infirmary” Seohyun said while pointing at the buildings.

“Can I go to the music room now?” Jaejoong asked boredly

“Yah!! Were you even listening to me a while ago?” Seohyun asked

“Aiiistt” Jaejoong hissed.

“Yah, listen very well because I won’t be repeating everything that I already said” Seohyun scolded

“Whatever!” Jaejoong mumbled

“Hey mister, speak well or else I won’t let you go to the music room EVER!!!” Seohyun threatened

“NO!! “ Jaejoong said. “Please, I’ll straighten up just don’t ban me going to the music room.” he pleaded

“Good!” Seohyun said satisfied

“Why are you so mean to new students?” Jaejoong asked

“I’m not mean. I’m just telling you how to behave well” Seohyun answered

“Excuse me Prez” Min Soo interrupted. “I’m sorry to interrupt you when you are busy, but could you look at these documents before I finalize it?”

“Okay, let’s talk about it in the SC office” Seohyun said and they left Jaejoong sulking in a corner.

On their way to the Office, Seohyun glanced up to the second floor of their building and saw Kyuhyun intently looking at her. She immediately removed her gaze away.

He is not even paying attention during their class!

Meanwhile, at the music room..

“Finally, I get to play the piano here!!!” Jaejoong exclaimed

He approached the piano and his hands trailed on the white and black keys of it. He has scarcely done so when suddenly, three boys came in..

“Hey, transfer student..” Hankyung called in a threatening voice

“You play the piano really well huh?” the other student said

“Why don’t we give you a warm welcome?” Heechul said sarcastically with an evil smile.

At the SC office..

“Edit this portion then add this line and it’ll be okay” Seohyun instructed Min Soo. “Make copies for everyone and put it on the table for me.”

“Okay, Prez” Min Soo answered

“I’ll go ahead first” Seohyun said as she walked out of the Office.

“Looked like you were glued to the transfer student the whole day.” Kyuhyun asked. “I was so cheerless since you would not look at me at all” Kyuhyun teased

“Yeah right” Seohyun answered sarcastically. “For the whole day, you didn’t show up at all”

“Really? But I was watching you all the time” Kyuhun said

Seohyun grinned at what he said. “Oh you were?” she said with sarcasm. “You really are a stalke—”

“You glanced back, didn’t you Seo?” Kyuhyun asked seriously. “You looked at me right?”

Crap! How did he saw through me again?

“Oh, there you are Seohyun” Yuri suddenly called.

“The transfer student is in trouble” Sooyoung said. “He’s been surrounded by boys”

“What?” Seohyun asked

“It looked dangerous, so we thought we needed to tell you” Yuri said

“Which way is it?” Seohyun asked

“In the music room” Sooyoung said

And they all ran towards the music room. When they got there, they saw a bunch of boys crowding over the piano.

“That’s it! What are you guys doi—??” Seohyun suddenly stopped when she saw Jaejoong laughing with the others.

???!!

“This looked dangerous?” Seohyun asked her two friends

“Well, when we were here, it looked like a fight could start any moment” Sooyoung explained

“Hey Jaejoong-ssi, how about Canon by Pachelbel?” Hankyung asked. “Can you play it too?”

“Uhmm” Jaejoong uttered. “As long as I hear the melody, I can play it”

“Alright” Hankyung said and got his phone to let Jaejoong hear the melody.

“Ah, it’s that!!!” Jaejoong cheerily said

“Play it” Hankyyung said

“Okay” Jaejoong said

Jaejoong stretched his hands and in a while he struck the keys of the piano and imitated the melody he just heard.

“Whooa, you’re really great” Hankyung praised

“Jaejoong-ssi, you really can play anything by ear” Heechul said

“You’re amazing Jaejoong-ssi” the other boys cheered him

“How did you become so skillful in doing that?” a student asked

“I think it’s a talent I acquired from my mom. Every day when I was young, I used to practice it with her.” Jaejoong answered with a smile. “But my parents died in a car accident when I was in 4^th grade, so I moved to Chungnam where my grandparents live. And there I practiced with an old organ so I became better.” he narrated cheerfully. “I often got scolded by my Gandpa because I was always infront of the organ.kekeke. But I was happy he permitted me to come back here at Seoul!!”

“Wasn’t that actually supposed to be a pretty serious story?” Heechul asked

“Then you are living alone?” another student asked

“Yeah” Jaejoong answered

“How do you handle tuition and other stuffs?” they asked again

“I’m using the money Omma and Appa left behind” Jaejoong answered

“You have a pretty difficult life, don’t you?” they all asked

“I do?” Jaejoong asked clueless

“I thought he was just a piano freak but he’s so cheerful despite his rough background.” Heechul said

“Rough?I don’t think so!” it was now Jaejoong’s turn to speak. “I came back to this city to find my first love”

“Eeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhh???????” they all chorused

“I figured out that i[d be able to meet her again so I couldn’t stop myself” Jaejoong said

“So you came back just to meet her?” Hankyung asked

“Yup!!” Jaejoong exclaimed. “So I’ll be busy looking for her. She is kind, cheerful and cares for other people”

“Wait, Jaejoong-ssi” Seohyun said. “Is she even in this school to begin with?”

Jaejoong looked at her and thought for a moment..

“I don’t know” Jaejoong said innocently

“You don’t??” Seohyun asked. “Then how far are you willing to go to look for her?”

Jaejoong looked at her seriously “I don’t know…” he said. “…but I promised. I promised that I’ll follow Joo Hyun-ssi for the rest of my life”

“Joo Hyun-ssi??” Sooyoung and Yuri asked each other

“Ehhh, that is so reversed” Hankyung said while he ruffled Jaejoong’s hair

“The boy follows the girl?” Heechul said with a smile. “You’re so undependable Jaejoong-ssi”

“But that’s what I promised her” Jaejoong answered while scratching his head

“But hey, doesn’t ‘Joo Hyun’ ring a bell?” Heechul asked

FLASHBACK..

A 9-year old little boy who was wearing a blanket made into a cape and a mask around his eyes was playing around a big tree near their classroom. A little girl around the same age as the little boy was trailing behind him.

“You evil monsters better back off or I will defeat you all!!” the boy shouted to his imaginary enemies. He threw a punch then a kick. “Yah, Yah, Yah!!”

“Hero-ssi, stop playing already, we better get to the classroom now. The next period is about to start soon” the little girl shouted

“I’ll play a bit more. Besides, the bell did not ring yet” Hero answered.

“Come on. The teacher will be here soon” the little girl said

But the boy did not listen but climbed the tree instead. When he got to a branch, he stretched one of his arms doing the Superman pose. ^-^

“Joo Hyun-ssi, Look I’m will fly!!” Hero shouted

“Hey, Hero-ssi, it’s dangerous” Joo Hyun shouted

Then in a while, the little boy slipped from the branch he was standing at.

BRAAAAAG!!!

“Huh?” the little girl was shocked when he saw the boy fall from the tree. She approached him immediately and asked, “Hero-ssi, Kwaenchanayo?”

“Ahhhh!!!” the boy cried. “Joo Hyun-ssi, my leg hurts”

“Ommo, let’s go to the infirmary” Joo Hyun said and supported him until they reached the infirmary.

After the school nurse and doctor has seen Hero…

“You’re lucky, you only got your leg sprained and not broken” the doctor said. “Next time, don’t play in dangerous places, arasso?”

“Deh..” Hero answered

“Alright” the doctor said. “You just need to rest it for some time and drink these painkillers twice a day if you feel pain.”

“Deh, kamsahamnida” Hero answered

“Now, that’s a good boy” the doctor ruffled Hero’s hair then left.

“You’re so helpless, Hero-ssi” Joo Hyun finally spoke. “I told you stop playing those hero games already”

“Ye, I’m already hurt and you will still scold me” Hero complained

“Don’t go up the tree like that anymore” Joo Hyun worriedly said

“Okay” Hero smiled

Joo Hyun returned a sweet smile to him. “Make sure to follow me, arasso?”

“Okay, Joo Hyun-ah. I promise” Hero said while raising his right hand. “I will follow you for the rest of my life”

SEOHYUN’S POV

I just had a recollection of one of my childhood memories..

“Ahhhh!” I uttered

“Hey Seohyun.” Yuri said. “Is the Joo Hyun-ssi he is talking about…”

“If so, wouldn’t they have recognized each other?” Sooyoung speculated. “They’ve already spoken with each other quite a bit”

I thought hard again. “Jaejoong..Hero-ssi?” I whispered to myself trying to remember everything.

“Huh?” Sooyoung and Yuri asked.

“When I was in elementary,there was a boy whom everyone called as Hero” I said.

“Then…” Yuri exclaimed in surprise

“His first love is..” Sooyoung trailed

“T-That would be me” I completed

“Then you used to date Jaejoong-ssi?” Yuri asked excitedly

“Huh?” is all that I said for the unexpected question

“Yaaay!! This is getting interesting” Yuri said

“Why did you have to suggest that, Yuri-ah?” I asked

“Whooa!” Sooyoung exclaimed

“Hey Jaejoong-ssi, are you alright. Get down from there now!” we heard shout from outside.

We looked on where the commotion was and saw Jaejoong-ssi up the tree as if looking for something.

“Aisssh, that Pabo” I said and ran towards where those people were.

KYUHYUN’S POV

I don’t know…” Jaejoong-ssi said. “…but I promised. I promised that I’ll follow Joo Hyun-ssi for the rest of my life”

Joo Hyun?

Suddenly, a speculation struck me. I looked at Seohyun as soon as I realized something. I think I was right because Seohyun was frozen and speechless when she heard the name Joo Hyun-ssi. Her name.

After some time of silence from her..

“Ahhh!” I heard her exclaim

“Hey Seohyun.” Yuri called her. “Is the Joo Hyun-ssi he is talking about…”

“If so, wouldn’t they have recognized each other?” Sooyoung asked. “They’ve already spoken with each other quite a bit”

I waited for her answer but she was just mumbling something inaudible for me.

“When I was in elementary, there was a boy whom everyone called as Hero” she finally said

“Then…” Yuri exclaimed in surprise

“His first love is..” Sooyoung trailed

That would be her.

“T-That would be me” she finally said

That hit me right through the center. My hunch was so accurate.

I became deaf and numb of the things that were happening at that very moment. I just came back to myself when I heard loud shouts from outside. “Hey Jaejoong-ssi, are you alright. Get down from there now!”

I looked at the uproar. And when I turned my head I saw Seohyun and her two friends running out of the building and going towards the crowd.

At where the commotion was..

“Oh, I can see the entire campus from here” Jaejoong said while standing on one branch of the tree. “Alright then…JOO HYUN-SSI!! COME ON OUT!!!” he shouted

“Yah, jaejoong-ssi, are you crazy?” Heechul said. “You’re so hilarious”

“Yah!! This isn’t funny!” Seohyun scolded. “Come down already Jaejoong-ssi”

“You can’t bother me if I’m up here” Jaejoong said then stuck his tongue out.

Instead of listening to Seohyun, Jaejoong continued to call out Joo Hyun’s name, “HEY JOO HYUN-SSI!!!”

“Yah! You’re going to fall again” Seohyun said. Aisshh, he is ignoring me! “If you don’t come down immediately from there, I will tell the teachers to ban you from the Music Room!” Seohyun threatened

Seohyun’s statement seemed like it has affected Jaejoong.

“Huh??” Jaejoong was able to say before he lost his balance. He was now falling right infront of everyone.

JAEJOONG’S POV

Here comes the mean girl again..

“Come down already Jaejoong-ssi” she instructed

“You can’t bother me if I’m up here” I managed to say before sticking my tongue out

Success!! I got her really mad now.

I ignored her and continued on shouting, “HEY JOO HYUN-SSI!!!”

“Yah! You’re going to fall again” she said but I did not care. “If you don’t come down immediately from there, I will tell the teachers to ban you from the Music Room!” Seohyun threatened

“Huh?”

Her threat caught me off guard. I lost my balance and was now falling in front of everyone else.

It seemed like this happened already..Yes, exactly the same. The same from 9  years ago.. when Joo Hyun scolded me from going up a tree.

“HERO!!!” I heard my nickname. It was unusual. Nobody knew here that it is my nickname. As soon as I heard that, I was able to maneuver myself on air and landed safely on the ground.

I stared at Seohyun-ssi seriously and asked her, “What’s your name?”

“Seo Joo Hyun” she answered.

My heart suddenly felt warm.

And then she spoke again. “I’m sorry, but I’ve changed quite a bit from when we were litt—”

“JOO HYUN-AH!!” I did not let her finish her sentence but tugged her into a very tight bear hug. “I missed you” I said with teary eyes.

“Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh?????” was everyone’s reaction

But I did not care!!

And from the building from where Seohyun and her friends came from, a guy stood motionless with eyes still glued on two persons- the girl he always considered special and the guy who held that girl in his arms.
